   Simply outstanding food and service. We came here after a long walk on the South Downs way. The roast chicken and pork meals were excellent and we look forward to visiting again.

   Another delicious Sunday roast. Our party of six mostly went for the pork belly option, with one of us opting for the beef. Everything was excellent, full of flavour, served hot and with generous portions. Catherine (apologies if I have misremembered or misspelled her name) was very attentive, and took it upon herself to chase the drinks order we had placed. (The second part of our order had been delivered first, and then no sign of the first four drinks we'd previously ordered - this is the only reason for not giving 5*) One suggestion would be to increase the number of staff, as those present were working hard to deal with a busy Sunday. Overall though, another great visit.

   The setting is lovely. I don't like cutlery in a pot on each table I find this very unhygienic. There was too much people traffic walking back and forth where we sat. Good sized portions but overall not up to the hype I'm afraid.

   It was a sunday roast. I ordered the slow cooked lamb on the bone. What I got was processed strips of overcooked meat. The veg and the yorkshire pudding was good. The cauliflour cheese was grey and inedible. Service was good but the meat substitute was unacceptable.

   A lovely pub, the food was great. It was a Sunday lunchtime and it was busy so sadly the service was slow. However, the staff were friendly.
