   It was a sunday roast. I ordered the slow cooked lamb on the bone. What I got was processed strips of overcooked meat. The veg and the yorkshire pudding was good. The cauliflour cheese was grey and inedible. Service was good but the meat substitute was unacceptable.

   A lovely pub, the food was great. It was a Sunday lunchtime and it was busy so sadly the service was slow. However, the staff were friendly.

   This wonderfully situated pub is now a country restaurant that is well worth a visit. My lunch was the pie of the day with mash. Portions were not generous but adequate. Prices somewhat high but the venue is worth it.

   Absolutely brilliant. The atmosphere in the barn lovely and it was certainly warm and cozy. The food was well presented and well cooked and the waiter David was very good and attentive.

    Imagine finding yourself deep in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by beautiful countryside and enticing walks. Perhaps you would start to fantasise about a picture postcard pub, nestled in a small valley, maybe offering craft beers as well as the traditional options. You might even begin to feel hungry for some tasty, home cooked, smartly presented, quality fare, served perhaps by smiling, attentive staff. And, should you happen to have a dog in your company, you might wish for the possibility that well-behaved such pets would be welcomed. Stop imagining, and book yourself a table - Sunday lunch would be a great introduction - and discover just why our traditional pubs need our support in order to ensure that such delightful gems as The Shepherd and Dog in Fulking prosper.
