   Unfortunately on the day we went there was no fish and no pies available, which pretty much wiped out most of the menu. The waitress was very apologetic and it clearly was not her fault, but what a crazy situation. Not impressed on this occasion.

   Booked months day dinner through this service and restaurant called back to say that there was not a table - not good at all!

   Visited again, this time with small family group. We were made very welcome and the service we received was excellent.

   Visited for Sunday lunch following a gap of about 6 weeks. The food was not quite as good as previously and like before was not as hot as it should have been. Really hot plates would help (ours were barely warm) and it would only take some minor tweaks to the cooking of the food to make it a really great meal. Nothing but praise for the serving staff, who went out of their way to be helpful.

   This is our third time visiting in the last 6 weeks and on each occasion the actual food and service has been good or very good. However, the food is never served piping hot and after a few mouthfuls the remaining food on the plate is very cool. If it wasn't for this factor our overall feedback would be much higher.    My Sunday roast beef dinner was very small in portion size. X2 small slices of beef, very little veg, 3 small potatoes and a fat drenched Yorkshire pudding, I am not a big eater but was still hungry after finishing my meal. My daughter ordered hunters chicken, instead of the chicken being wrapped in bacon, a side order of gammon steak was served and a jug of barbecue sauce on the side, not typical for hunters chicken. My daughter had 6 chips on her plate, I complained and was given a few extra chips but still not enough. This wasn't an overly expensive meal, total cost of £35.00 for two main meals and two drinks buy I was very disappointed to still be hungry after spending this money on a meal. I have had a better roast dinner at my local Brewers Fayre costing only £21.00 for the same food and two drinks. The staff aren't overly friendly and were rushed off their feet. This restaurant was recommended to me but I won't be recommending it to anyone else.

   Sunday dinner was amazing!! Well worth the drive and wasn’t expecting the meal to be as be as delicious as it was! Definitely will be returning!

   Reception was rather off hand and the importance of being friendly yet professional was lost on the chap who "booked us in" This contrasted with the young lady who served us, as she was just about everything you would look for in this role. This was our third visit in a 6 week period and we will certainly return.

    On arrival they had no record of the booking through open table and told us they were fully booked! Fairly embarrassing on Valentine’s Day . They did find us a table but could have been handled better. DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BOOKINGS WITH THEM
