So disappointed with the food… the rib eye ($65) is the worst I have ever had. Sea bass and scallops were dry. Maybe consider this place for drinks and appetizers… mussels were delicious.
Good food, nice flavors but a couple of the dishes fell flat. The chicken and dumplings were a nice surprise. Something on the menu for everyone.
Great ambiance and we were excited to try some unique food and drinks! Unfortunately, it just was not good. Out of 4 menu items and 2 drinks, we would only reorder 1 thing. Chicken was overcooked and dry; hash was not cripsy, it was mushy and bland; beat salad was okay but not worth ordering again. The drinks were just not flavors we enjoyed, which is personal preference. It definitely was not worth the high price. Service and ambiance were great though! Super disappointed in the food :( We really wanted to enjoy it and were quite bummed.
Such an amazing spot to grab dinner and drinks!
They were having a bad night. Food was not very good, & I had given the waitperson our timeline. We had to leave and they should’ve comped the whole thing. I would not recommend or return.
amazing dinner. great atmosphere. attentive staff. will come back for sure.
The service staff were great and the food was flavorful. The portions appeared small but ended up being filling. I had the chicken and dumplings and the chicken was cooked to perfection but the carrots were pretty al dente. Overall pretty good.
The restaurant and Bar had beautiful ambiance and the waitstaff was very good, friendly and attendant. The food, however, was not quite up to the level of the ambiance in quality and preparation. Especially the seafood. The quality was poor to objectionable. The cocktails and wine were excellently prepared and very good.Prices for the menu were exorbitant for the quality and preparation.
First time at The 7th Street Standard but we were well aware of the team involved. The food was delicious, the service was spot on without being too intrusive and the staff was very friendly and solicitous. A special note to Margo Hernandez coming to the table to check on us.
Limited menu selection. Pricey meals. Lamb shoulder overcooked & fatty. Chicken dumplings good. Duck appetizer good. Delicious cream puff. Great service
Everything about our experience was fantastic - the beautiful restaurant, the great music, our service from Sam, and the wonderfully inventive and delicious food. We loved the hints of Indian spices and the surprising way the flavors played upon each other. This was easily one of the best meals I have had in Sacramento. Thank you so much for a fantastic food journey from start to finish.
The deserts are outstanding as well as the entrees and salads. We would have liked a few more choices on the entrees.
TL;DR: go go go, this place is delicious. Higher end of the price scale but worth the eats.
How do you say absolutely delicious in every single language known to man? The 7th street standard is a slightly obscure location due to its distance to DOCO, and placement inside the Hyatt. The aesthetic was nice, the spacing between tables was amazing. They have a bar scene for those looking and they pour heavy.
We went at 8:00 pm on a Monday and the area was quiet of course. No Monday night games. No events at DOCO, but I can only imagine that when events are happening that this place gets packed.
All of the food was made excellently and the staffing is just as great. So knowledgeable about what their menu pricing is and what pairings are best. Be advised it is on the pricier side when you're making your reservation. For the two of us, drinks included we spent about $200. For a full dinner. Was it worth it? Yes.
We had a little sampling from everywhere apps, entrees, sides and desserts. If you get a chance to stop by on one of their off days, do it. They are absolutely Devine. I'd go as far as saying, one of the best that sacramento has to offer!
overpriced and underdelivered. Will not return. Service good.
Our party of five enjoyed shared plates from the small but vibrant menu. The scallops lightly browned and fork tender were the table favorite but roasted branzino on beluga lentils shined and the fried chicken and dumplings were soothing too. We would return again and loved sharing entrees and starters. Ours starters were a beet salad special and the pigeon pea soup - oh my word the fried black mustard seed drizzled on top was aromatic perfection.
Yeah, we will go there again. It was a nice finish to an early Kings game. We even forgot they lost while we were treated to fabulous food and spot on service.
I've been dining around Sacramento for decades and can honestly say The 7th Street Standard is now one of the top 5 restaurants in the area to dine at. Chef Pedro's food is amazing! We started with the mussels appetizer. It's topped with yuka fries. Took us a minute to figure out that you should actually be taking one little bite of yuka with your mussel. Holy guacamole! So delish! For our entrees we had on scallop dish and one chicken and dumpling dish. Amazing! Finished the night with an amazing cream puff desert before we rolled our full bellies out of there.
The ambience is classy and upscale yet didn't feel stuffy. Every staff member we encountered was warm, kind and very welcoming. We never were in need of anything as they were quick to anticipate needs yet professional enough to give us time to chat and enjoy our night out together. The manager stopped by to check on our meal and it was very easy to see why the staff is so wonderful. She's setting the bar high.
We can't wait to go back!!!
My friend & I ate here Christmas Day, as our married kids were with their in laws. We thanked the staff for working the holiday and tipped them well. I got the prime rib. It was $55. By the time I cut all of the fat away, there was about half left to eat. Some of it was pretty tough. It was good, but not great. I don’t think it was worth the money. My friend enjoyed her scallops, beet salad, & potatoes. There was a lot of waiting, but that could have been due to short staffing on the holiday. All of the staff were pleasant & accommodating.
Dined here for Christmas and everything was over the top. Service could not have been better. We all ordered different dishes as well as salads and the salmon tartare. It was all exceptional. Cocktails were great too. The wine list was nice, but we brought in our own. We all shared a cream puff and I wish I could learn how to make those…delicious. We will be back.
What a lovely place to have a quiet Christmas dinner.
We went there to celebrate two engagements with our family. Ambiance was perfect, service was outstanding and the food was excellent! Will definitely be back for other special occasions.
Had a great birthday brunch at the 7th St Standard! The staff were great with providing a wonderful dining experience. I took some photos by the bar, and one of the servers were so mindful with the surroundings and made it more aesthetically pleasing for my photos- this was so kind and made for cuter pictures!
The food was incredible. I had the French toast topped with whipped cream and apple pie filling. So good. I paired my toast with the Pain Free mocktail, which was great too.
The server was outstanding- friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and very responsive to special requests. The food was very good if a bit pricey. Ambience of the room was nothing unique yet quiet and comfortable. Overall a pleasant dining experience- we will definitely return in the future.
Very classy. Small menu. Good food. Good service.
Creative menu using fresh, local food sources. The oyster appetizer was absolutely delicious and large enough to share. I liked my pear salad, and the lamb shoulder was tender and tasty. The Asian inspired custard dessert was outstanding.
Everything was perfect. Only the light was flimsy, when you didn’t looked into the lights. But the rest was really good. In each case, go and eat there!
Very nice brunch spot! Beautiful space, friendly service and really good food!
Best mussels I have ever had. Scallops were on point. Cream puff for desert was amazing. Service was fantastic and atmosphere was lovely. Will definitely be back. Well done.
Celebrated friend’s birthday. The whole evening was fun with great food. My scallop dish was cooked to perfection. My friends had the lamb shoulder and they both really enjoyed it. Side dishes and starters were delicious. This was one of my highlight dinners in 2021.
Only negative I have is the parking. I guess because of the Kings home game, the valet was full and parking lots nearby were charging event prices. Don’t go to this restaurant when there is an event at the Golden One Center or take an Uber. Even Uber prices are up during events.
Forgot to mention, the desserts were all great; we ordered one of each. The service was exceptional,
This is a must try place.
My wife did not like seeing men in the bathroom with her. She would prefer separate bathrooms for men and women. We will not return.
Lovely location and decor. Great for before concert. Everything was delicious!
Nice restaurant- bright, modern, clean & lots of windows. Limited menu but had chicken & dumplings and it was marvelous. Valet parking was nice touch (restaurant off of hotel lobby). Attentive service-definitely great value for $$$$
The food was outstanding. The service was extremely weak and unknowledgeable. I will try again when, hopefully, service is what it should be for this type of experience.
Wonderful food , beautifully presented . Great service. We had the lamb shoulder and it was divine. Chef Patel really gets fine dining.
We appreciated the ambitious menu. I had the Branzino, my partner had the salmon. Both were accompanied by tasty sauces / purees. The wine menu was a bit limited, but had a white burgundy that went well. Service was still a bit rough, but it is a new place. Then need to improve the signage, nowhere does the exterior have the full restaurant name.
High quality food that is creatively prepared in a classy setting. The popover lox, French toast and eggs were prepared very well. I'll be back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal at this swanky new restaurant in DOCO. The receptionist greeted us warmly and seated us immediately. The entire service staff was extremely but not annoyingly attentive and special shout to Carmela, out main server, for exceedingly our expectation. Michael the Dir of Operation coming by our table to ensure our satisfaction was a very nice touch. I ordered their Thanksgiving turkey dinner and my partner ordered lamb shoulder with two shared sides, pork belly potatoes and green beans casserole. All were delectable and I’m not even a big fan of turkey! We ordered pumpkin cream puff with ice cream which was just amazing! The slight miss was the silky Japanese custard, which was a bit on the sweet side and the accompanying eggplant marmalade tasted a bit strange. This certainly is entirely due to personal taste as I’m not a big fan of very sweet dessert. However, seeing that we both enjoyed the cream puff, they sent out another cream puff free of charge! I highly recommend 7th Street Standard without any reservation! Living in midtown, we will be back!
Everything we ordered was superb. Started with yucca fries (deep fried tapioca root) with mussels. It was a huge portion and one of the most delicious dishes I have had. It was so good, I will be inviting friends soon so that they can try it too. The lamb shank and salmon were also incredible. This place has only been open for around 6 weeks and is an excellent choice for a great dining experience.
We are in love with this new restaurant. The ambiance is perfect. The staff is amazing the host was so friendly and put waitress was so knowledgeable. We loved the menu and the drinks.
