The Session Room
Mega-screen Sports restaurant with an amazing beer list. You need to try this place if for nothing else the beer and beer knowledgeable staff. Tasting options are aplenty. Fun menu with everything from great appetizers to nice dinners.
Very good food where anyone can find a dish. Bartender was excellent. Helped me get a quick app for my starving teens while we waiting. Sat us 15 min early. Server was attentive. My only complaint is it took forever to get the food. It was busy but not busy enough to take 35-40 minutes to get our food at 8:45pm.
We had a group of 7. Our food took a long time to arrive and when it did it was all cold. Beer was good.
Excellent food and service. I did not give it five stars because the restaurant is too noisy to have an easy conversation. I even asked for a quiet table when I made the reservation. I won’t be going back with a large group, although for four people, they do have tables is less noisy parts of the restaurant.
Great place as long as you like beer! Decent food; e.g. tasty BLT Salmon Sandwich and cheese pizza. No kids’ menu but you can improvise. Extremely loud (“energetic”) because of the acoustics - it is an old warehouse after all.
If you’re a millennial or a genx-er Sessions is right up your alley. If you’re a baby boomer who’s not a huge beer fan? Not so much.
I thought I requested regular table seating, but when I got there, the rest of my group was seated at high top tables. Otherwise, they have an extensive menu and I love the local cider options.
Our waitress was kind and knowledgeable. We had a large group and she was sufficient. Only down fall was the lack of a kid menu. Its definitely geared more toward adults. We also were charged a desert fee of $25.00 for using the plates and silverware for the birthday cake, which I thought was a bit ridiculous since the party was large and generous gratuity was given. Overall it was OK and food was pretty good.
Everything was great. Only suggestions would be more space between tables to add some privacy. We felt like we were talking over the people next to us. Also, the beers took a while to come out. Food was great and atmosphere was great besides the noise.
we had a large family gathering and sat at a picnic table outside. It was great for the children who could play in the grassy area.
the food is great. menu is limited but tasty. we had chicken nachos and artichoke dip for appetizers. one had a spicy puzza, couple of burgers, pesto pasta, naan sandwich, and of course beer!
This was my first time. I loved the ambiance and food and drink. But it took far too long - 2.5 hours - to have dinner for a group of 10. Both appetizers and mains took forever to arrive, and getting the bill was very slow as well. I wouldn’t go again with a large group unless we were prepared for a long night out.
The people who ordered pizza didn’t receive their food until the other non pizza orders were delivered and consumed. Kale salad is bland. Our waitress was great. Another waiter delivered us 2 beers and didn’t know what they were thinking one was a mixed drink?????
We were visiting Ann Arbor and found The Session Room on your site. It was close to our hotel so we gave it a try and very much enjoyed ourselves. Our server was friendly and the food was great. I’d definitely go back if I’m ever in Ann Arbor again!
First visit today, but won’t be our last. Excellent service, a wonderful selection of craft beer, and good food.
Great for watching a game, or drinking outside, awesome beer selection, but skip dinner, there is no fryer and food is just not that good.
Great beer and food
The artichoke dip was SO GOOD! Almost made a meal out of it 😂
The live music was wonderful for a nice summer evening. The staff was very friendly and the food and beer were good. I would definitely come back again and again.
We’re moving out of state. We’ve eaten at every fancy/expensive restaurant in Ann Arbor. The Session Room and Metzger’s are the only restaurants that we’ll miss in the Ann Arbor area! Great beer selection and stupendous hamburgers, wings, and pizza!!
This was a nice place for a birthday get together. However, it was very warm. We ended up leaving because it was too warm to enjoy ourselves.
We had a business dinner with a group of 12. The food was very tasty. The beer drinkers were in heaven with the many choices and varieties of beer available.
Our server, Maddie, was very attentive, taking very good care of our large group. She was knowledgeable on the beer varieties and able to recommend excellent selections.
We were a party of 8 and sat outside. Great atmosphere and music. Not as noisy as inside. Nice variety of beer, although they were out of a number of them. Given how busy they were, service was pretty good, a bit slow. Most of the food was good. I'd go back for the atmosphere (outside) and the drinks, not necessarily the food.
It was great! We’ll definitely be going back.
Great, super tasty wood fired pizza, delicious artichoke dip, diverse beer list. Options like cider and mead were appreciated. The kale salad could use a little work (lacinato kale is too heavy and bitter). Chicken wings were meaty and tasty sauces too. Also would love to see a few more GF options. I have to eat GF so I had the salmon sandwich and asked them to do it in a lettuce wrap. It was delicious!!
Great for casual group celebrations and parties.
all was good, soup could have been a bit hotter, just tepid. Service was great, fun waitress and backup staff.
We had a delightful dinner outside with friends after we all went to the movie at Quality 16.
Our waitress was sweet and helpful. It was a fun atmosphere, but very noisy!
Too noisy for a nice conversation with friends.
Our meal was fantastic, as was the service! Very fresh and delicious food at a reasonable price. 😋
Our visit was on Mother’s Day and we had a wonderful time. I think it was one of the best Mother’s Day meals we’ve had in a number of years. My husband really loved the Cajun Linguine. I know we’ll be back soon.
I love coming here. The revolving taps are to die for!
The Session Room never disappoints! It has become one of our favorites in Ann Arbor. The beer selection is out of this world, and the food is fabulous. Our server, Marika, was outstanding on Wednesday night -- we had 7 people and 3 separate checks and she took it all in stride, never missed a beat. The music was too loud, which is our only criticism. Thank you!
Terrible customer service. Food was rushed out. We had literally just been served appetizers and the main courses we being brought out and out on the table. There was nowhere for the dishes to go, yet they kept pushing plates out of the way (while we were trying to eat appetizers resulting in a very hot pizzabeing spilled on person dining. No compensation offered for the horrible experience. As the pizza was dropped and inedible, they had to remake a pizza which was brought out after most of the party had finished the meal. To add insult to injury we paid for the entire meal. Nothing. Nada. No compensation of any kind to leave a better memory of a terrible experience. Customer service is terrible and the manager had no idea how to make a bad situation and experience better. I understand that people make mistakes, but rushing food out and cramming a table continuously until you basically spill food on people makes no sense. Do not go here.
We went during graduation weekend, so it was very very busy. I'm assuming this impacted our visit and normally it would be better. The waitstaff forgot to wait on us and I had to go remind the hostess after waiting for about 20 minutes after being seated. Our food came out quickly, but was very overcooked.
Great place. On Friday night, it was loud but friendly and festive. Real busy. But the service was good and friendly. Food was great. Service was prompt. Waitresses recommendation of the beer was spot on.
Good pizzas and large draft beer selection. Nice casual dining and reasonable pricing.
The food was good, beer menu was great, (a lot of different choices), and the servise was good. Only complaint was the sound system was too loud and hard to understand the music lyrics.
Our waitress, Sam was phenomenal! She was very attentive to us and provided great suggestions. She didn’t seem to mind that we kept our table so long with visiting our friends!
Great spot to watch football and food is wonderful,!
Great and MI won
We've been to Session Room just over 10x now and each time the experience is hit or miss. Overall, we've had about 4 good-great experiences and the rest have been "meh" to "why do we even come here?". This time around was the latter. We ordered a balsamic mushroom pizza. It advertised mushrooms, goat cheese, tomato, roasted garlic, covered in balsamic, and I forget what else. What came out was a the crust, with very little cheese (per slice), 1-2 tomatoes (per slice), some garlic (per slice), fully stocked/covered in black mushrooms with a balsamic drizzle. No joke, it was a black mushroom pizza - thin bread covered in 1-2 layers of black mushrooms! We couldn't finish it - ate 5 slices. We scraped all the mushrooms off to the side and just ate the crust. Too bad. OH - I also ordered one of their sours, they ran out, and brought me a 1/2 pour and then thought it was necessary to add that they wouldn't charge me full price for it. Finally, when we mentioned how unsatisfied we were of the pizza, they said "sorry!" took the pizza away and then charged us full price, we were expecting someone to ask, "what were you expecting?" or "let's look to see where there was a miscommunication..." - nothing happened. We keep coming back to this place, hoping that it'll be a worth it, and it's not - we don't see the hype about this place. Opentable by the way was great. We got in, they had our reservation, and got us seated on time. So thanks for that!
