Excellent meal. Had the crab cake (100% crab!!), the duck meatballs, rack of lamb (wonderful), the salmon, ceasar, apple dessert. Will definitely go back!
We loved this place. We've been twice in two weeks. now. The menu is not extensive but it is extremely well executed. The ambiance is classy but casual. Highly. recommend.
We went for brunch and the entire experience was wonderful from start to finish! We sat in the sun room area and the ambiance was delightful. The food and drinks were excellent! My table split the cinnamon bun and I had the mango sorbet mimosa and the croque madame. I would definitely return for brunch, but I’m excited to return to try their dinner menu!
Amazing place! Food was soooo delicious! Our server was amazing and the drinks she told us about were sooo good! The ginger margarita is bomb.
Extremely crowded, but it was Valentine's Day. Because it was a Special Holiday more attention should be taken to make it more special. Service was not particularly good. The food was above average for the price.
Had a really nice Valentine's dinner...but...
We had vowed never to do that again years ago - restaurants always pack in too many people and get in weeds - and it is often far from romantic with other couples so close you feel like you need to include them in your conversation. And so it was again last night - even though I had called a few days ago to verify that it was not going to be a zoo.
Our table was actually OK when we finally got seated - not too crammed in. Otherwise we had to wait 45 minutes for our 8:15 reservation and probably should have bailed to the next door and equally tasty Nam Kitchen, but we waited it out and got seated at 9:00!
We still managed to enjoy it. The service was good in spite of the delay and our server, Joe, who got an "in the field promotion" from water guy to server was great.
And we renewed our vows last night. Our vows to NEVER do another restaurant on Valentine's day! No matter what they claim. We had a good rule and should never have broken it - life is too short to have to learn things twice.
The Select is a good restaurant, but don't go there (or anywhere really) on an occasion like this.
If this had been my first time at The Select I would not go back. Our salad was a plate of arugula with two bits of cheese, hardly dressed, difficult to eat. The fish special tasted like it was prepared a day before and microwaved before being brought to table. Dry, tasteless. Hardly ate any. Shame. Atmosphere and service was nice.
Although the restaurant was packed to capacity, our waitress was wonderful. She was attentive and informed. Food was creative and visually attractive. The Select is a great restaurant for any occasion, including a special one.
The food was outstanding. The service was excellent - cheerful, friendly, prompt. The restaurant was quite loud, but still a very enjoyable experience. It was overall a very positive experience.
My one disappointment was with the reservation -- we were offered a seat next to the door and it was very cold outside with many people coming and going. We asked to be seated elsewhere and were placed at a high top table in the bar. It was disappointing that for Valentines Day I made a reservation weeks in advance, but there was nowhere decent for a couple to sit because all the good tables were 4's, 6's and 8's. I'm not sure the point of a reservation if you are still just given a leftover table ...
As always we had a fabulous meal in lovely surroundings with good friends. It’s a very special place and you shouldn’t miss it. The presentation of the food is to die for
Lovely place, but absolutely vegetarian unfriendly
food was not hot and the special fish could not even eat it.
One of our favorites!
Great experience at the Select.
I highly recommend it!
Just okay. Overpriced. Nice area which is what you pay for. Wait staff sarcasm.
This place was hoppin’
Service was outstanding.
This is a great addition to Sandy Springs
Great vibe, beautiful restaurant and bar. Valet parking a bit tricky, paying with validation. Food good, not outstanding, had the market fish, could have used a starch of some kind, and the steak frites, steak good, but not frites, more like large potatoes. Will try again tho.
First visit and we were pleased. Food was ver good and the service matched. We will go again.
For the luxe atmosphere and price, the food itself did not meet expectations. The parm truffle fries were wet with grease, the salmon unseasoned, the brussels bland. The only flavor in the dish was the bacon in the brussels. The cocktails and wine were great.
It was good food only complaint is they took the filet off the menu
Thank you for your review Anonymus! You'll be happy to know, we have put the filet back on the menu! Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts. We appreciate them more than yo may know. Dave
Cod, short rib - excellent.
Chicken, Pasta w. Mushrooms - fair
Service - friendly but forgetful
Nice atmosphere and good food.
2nd visit... we took a rookie couple and loved it. The Brussel Sprouts are awesome. Loved the Select Chicken. We were visited by one of the owners and enjoyed a brief chat. They said they are starting a weekend night entertainment experiment next weekend. The bar was "hopping" as we left the restaurant around 10pm... Great Vibe !!!
We loved the energy and service of The Select. The bar menu had great choices with a lot of limes in the gin and tonics like I’ve never seen anywhere. We had an assortment of food that was all delicious. The service was excellent and we were seated right on time. We can’t wait to go back!
We happened to arrive at a very busy time and did have a reservation for 5 but increased it to 6. We asked for a quiet table (as one guest wore hearing aides) but there was no quiet anywhere! Not any fault of the restaurant. 3 of the 6 people had great meal experiences. The other 3 not as much. The lobster Mac n cheese was very fishy. The burger was so over cooked it was like a hockey puck. The ravioli/lamb ragout was swimming in oil and greasy. We did not send food back or complain as we had already waited a long time for our meals and it was so busy our waitress could not keep up as it was. It would have prolonged the evening for everyone and we were all hungry and tired from a day of travel. On a positive note the onion soup was great as was the roasted chicken and sea bass. Our server was very pleasant and polite as were all staff. Professional too. The vibe was loud and jumping which probably appealed to a younger crowd. We hoped by coming in at 6:45 we would have a more subdued crowd. We were wrong. All the reviews we read were great so maybe it was us. We travel to the area often so may give it a 2nd try before totally writing off The Select. Thanks for asking.
Hello Susan, my name is Dave Green, and I'm the GM of The Select. As you may have guessed, yours is not the typical experience at The Select. We work each day to provide great food and service at The Select and reach that goal more often than not. Gratefully, Dave
Excellent food. A bit pricey.
It was my second time dining there, and enjoyed it both times. Love the atmosphere and decor. The service and food are very good too:)
We very much enjoyed this restaurant. Our server Catherine was knowledgeable, unobstrusive and a pleasure. Loved the whole menu - I had the Faroe Salmon with broccoli side that was fabulous!! Definitely would recommend
Food was great but it was Not kid-friendly as listed on yelp. No high chairs. Which made our dinner with our 1 year old very unpleasant overall.
The server was attentive, food was delicious and the beauty of the restaurant mad for a most delightful Sunday brunch!
We waited 40 minutes till after our 8:30 reservation to be seated (we weren’t alone in the long wait). This can put a damper on the night.
Might I suggest if your are having this difficulty with folks leaving the tables (which is the excuse/reason why we were told the hang up was) and causing the delays then don’t take reservations.
The chef is top notch and this restaurant makes sure to provide a great experience with delicious food and fantastic service. We celebrated by birthday here and everyone went above and beyond to make it special. Unfortunately, my absolute favorite dish is no longer on the menu (vegetarian sunchoke & barley) but the brussels sprouts and french onion soup are also delicious and I can't wait to go back and try more from the menu.
We had a nice dinner with friends. Food was good. Not excellent. It was our first time there. They did not seat us until just after 8:00. 30 minutes after our reservation and we sat up front by the door, but other than that it was wonderful 😄
Great Brunch. Fresh food, good service from Nathan. We've eaten dinner several times and enjoyed it but we both cleaned our plates for Brunch.
Very nice meal!
Food was over priced for the size of portions. I have had the same quality food at $8 to $10 less
The service was very good but the good was not. I had the country chopped salad. The red wine vinegar dressing was so tart. There were no spices in the dressing. Not a good choice. I had the sea bass The picked mushrooms were horrible. It ruined the whole dish. I could not eat it. We also had the short ribs which were bland and came with 3 carrots and a pearlized onion. For the price they charge, I would have expected a starch on the plate.
This place has potential due to location. They have to step up the food. We will not be back
Vicky was outstanding as our server!!!
