The Seaville Tavern
Our reservation for four at 6:30 found us not being seated, after much confusion, until 30 minutes later. The hostess said the "kitchen was behind". The waitress did her best, but we watched our food parade around by the server before we called to him and said, "That's ours!" Too many apologies later we finished an excellent meal; the prime rib queen cut with crab was excellent and plenty of crab for the extra cost. The bangers were banging..like butter to cut with tasty gravy. The crab special was like crab imperial and very yummy.
Very expensive Chicken Parm for the size received. Creme Brûlée was excellent
Best of Buffalo Wings in the state of NJ, friendly waitress, named Dora
First time visit. Food and service was excellent. Will definitely come back.
Slight confusion about when a person askes to have their chicken burnt, they really mean burn it, but the waitress was on point, and the food was delicious, new local favorite, drinkss are pricey but no higher than usual.
Great experience! Food and service were spot on. Thanks!
The food is decent and the prices aren't bad. This is my third time here. Kind of disappointed that the door handle to get in the place was sticky with dirt. The table was no better. I was afraid to put my silverware on the bare table. Waitress seemed uninformed of the special for the day, and service was really slow. She even got one of the orders partially incorrect. Fries came out when I was halfway through my main course. Seemed like the manager had to step in to keep things going. That was appreciated, but he shouldn't be doing her job?
I wouldn’t recommend. Food was average and ambiance was not great.
This restaurant is awful. The food was inedible. The chicken tasted like someone rubbed their butt in it. Absolutely disgusting. The waitress tried and failed to have us split the check. How can you not split a check at a restaurant?
Bright spot- hostess named Brooke. Beautiful little blonde friendly girl who has a warm heart and wanted nothing but the best meal for us. She deserves a better place to work.
Hate this place. Will never return. They should be a bar because that is obviously what keeps the establishment open.
Pleasant surprise so close to Ocean view Resort. Husband got to watch the football game. The wings and chicken pot pie were excellent. The kids spaghetti needed extra sauce and wasn’t anything special but it came with her favorite ice cream (mint chocolate chip) so it made up for it. Would definitely recommend.
Our first time at Seaville Tavern. The food and the service were excellent. We will definitely make this one of our go-to places.
I think this is more of a bar food place and that's not a bad thing. More like wings, burgers and sandwiches. Crab cakes, chicken parm were less than impressive. Salmon was decent.
It was our first time eating at The Seaville Tavern, we will be going back soon!
Seaville provides a good selection of tavern food - wings, appetizers, sandwiches and a few entrees. Not fine dining, but also not priced like fine dining. At the Jersey Shore, you can often get the price without the "fine dining". Convenient location on and off the GSP; with more than adequate parking.
Very Slow service (kitchen’s fault, not server) and food was just ok. Was expecting better wings since they touted them so highly.
Robin was our server and was terrific and entertaining. Food was great.
This was our first time here. We ended up waiting about 15 minutes after our reservation time.
Unfortunately we were seated next to a party of 13 with teenagers that were out of control noise wise. I blame the lack of parenting. We tried not to let this ruin our evening. The waitress was friendly, but could have been a little more attentive. Big picture they seemed to be light on help. The food was very good, came out hot and was priced reasonably for the most part. We have not come here for the brunch buffet, but the menu looked decent for the price. We would return to eat here again.
It was a very good evening. This is basically a bar so dress code is wear what’s comfortable. It’s a little loud in the dining area right near the bar. We all enjoyed our food and the service was wonderful. Plan on going back again.
Was in the new room and enjoyed it there. We could talk with our friends and be heard and the food was good
Food was good. Love the nightly specials. Also, I think it is awesome you can buy your own wine from their liquor store and drink at the table. The Monday night 2 for $ is a great bang for the buck. Had the pork chop and it was delectable.
Gwyn is a great waitress with a fantastic memory. Love the Monday night 2 for $25 dinner specials.
Nice place. very casual. Good for kids. Nice indoor and outdoor space.
What a great find! My hubby & I were looking for a place near Sea Isle City (where we were staying) that would be different but not break the bank as much as the SIC restaurants during the season. We found this spot on Open Table & thought we'd check out given the farm-to-table and casual atmosphere. Monday special was 2-for-$25 from a prix fixe, which included app, entre, & shared dessert. There was SO much food and it was all excellent. We had two meals! Would definitely recommend. We're going back on Thurs for wings!
We really liked the food for the last couple years but the service and quality have gone down over time. We made reservations and still had to wait then got thrown in the side room with only one waiter for the entire area who couldn't wait on more than 1 table at a time
Food was mediocre at best. Website said food was "American comfort food." Menu was largely fried items.
Won't be going back
Been going there for years. Always a dependable and great meal and experience. Some interesting dinners and a great brunch buffet.
Four of five entrees came out but after waiting ten minutes for the fifth, we had to ask where it was. The ticket got "lost" and we had to wait another ten minutes. To top it off, they didn't take it off the bill when they gave it to me. I told them I was offended I had to ask for it to be removed. Apologies didn't feel sincere. Lots of finger pointing as to who's fault the oversight was. Claimed to be short staffed. Very disappointing.
We eat at the Seaville fairly often. The food is usually very good. Every restaurant has their ups and downs. Consistency is really key!
The waitress had to keep going to the kitchen to get answers on our questions about the menu.
Salads were not brought to the table until after dinner was served. Tartar sauce/cocktail sauce was not brought out with the seafood platters and had to be requested. Drinks were also hard ti get refilled. Overall not a good experience.
We went on wing night, which was a great value. Also ordered salads which were very fresh.
Our server, Steve, never wrote anything down which always makes me a little nervous, but everything came out perfect!
