The food was very good the service excellant
The restaurant is hard to find, unless you know where it is located before hand. We called to find the location, and no one answered. The table was ready upon our arrival, the service was superb, but the food was mediocre at best. My surf and turf was very disappointing as the filet was overcooked and tough. This location is a tourist destination with a great view of the skating rink. Not recommended for a foodie.
Always nice bright place to have a business lunch.
The Sea Grill was a marvellous experience from start to finish my daughter took me there for my birthday and the food was amazing as were the waiting staff will definitely go again when in NYC
The Easter brunch was so expensive and so poor !! I expected more
Late Good Friday lunch at start of Easter - Passover Weekend for an older couple. Staff enjoyed our fun interacting through the floor to ceiling windows with the Rockefeller Rink ice skaters. A very pleasant leisurely lunch with good wines and good food. Particularly recommend the spaetzle with cream sauce side dish, cold jumbo shrimp ordered by the piece, simple crab cake, olive rolls. Excellent service. The Patina Group has done a fine job enhancing The Sea Grill.
Great setting especially with a view of the ice skaters
I have eaten here many times and it's always outstanding. Fine food, excellent service, and beautiful décor. bbbb
Excellent food and wine with very friendly service.
We had a wonderful dinner with a table near the windows overlooking the ice skating. The meal was terrific. I had the salmon along with a few others at the table. It was prepared perfectly. Highly recommend dinner at the Sea Grill.
as always enjoy the food and the service and atmosphere, and the homemade pistachio ice cream is the best in the world
Quick and simple if you love sea food then sea grill is the place to go .
Hands down best sea food in Manhattan period!
Celebrated my mother's birthday with family and it was wonderful! Enjoyed the food, service, and scenery. Thank you for making it a special celebration.
We live outside of Albany but make it a point to have lunch at the Sea Grill every time we come into the City. It is truly our favorite lunch place, particularly in the winter when the skating rink is full of enteratining skaters. The food is teriffic, waitstaff is excellent and everyone there is welcoming, friendly and helpful. We love this place.
The ambiance is terrific: light, clean and airy with a view of the skating rink at Rockefeller Center. Tables are amply spaced between one another so you are not cramped and feel like you can have conversation. The staff is very attentive, but not overbearing. The food is very good both in terms of quality and selection.
Our wedding day. Perfectcservice..extras en masse...very friendly stuff....great athmospere...only a little bit to cold.....
The service was fine and the view is great but the food was mediocre at best. I had not been there in some years and it was much better the last time I went. It was my birthday so a big disappointment.
Our server was very attentive and friendly, including to the children at our table. We also loved being seated by the rink!
Indifferent service and food. Saw my server only when I sent up flares. Sushi was plain and lazily made. What? Me worry?
Excellent service. Great food reconditions.
Service both at the front desk and at the table is always impeccable. The salad is overrated though.
The hostess was very sweet and got us a table by the window. The waiter was kind of weird and kept referring to the woman at the table as the Mrs. I was with my son. Pretty surprising for a NYC restaurant.
Sea Grill is always the best experience- food, wine, service! The vegetables are unbelievably farm to table fresh and have a preparation/taste that is enlightening.
And, my dessert favorite, the cookie tray never disappoints!!
Everything went fairly well throughout the evening. Nothing great, not horribly bad, until a chair that was being used literally broke in half and one of us crashed to the floor. Fortunately no injuries. The server said they have been talking about a renovation for 10 years. 1st and last time.
Had a good time watching the skaters with the snow coming down. Good treatment from the waiter.
Wonderful experience for Valentine's Day. Highly personalized service and great food and fun people watching on skating rink are a great combination.
Very nice and romantic dinner with my wife in Valentine's Day.
Booked the Sea Grill for Valentine's Day Dinner. Prefixed menu included a 3-course meal with options to add on extras along the way. Definitely want to come back to try the regular menu. This place did well in their seafood offerings, the tastes were enjoyable. The service was stellar and representative the experience and caliber of a finer dining experience. Overlooking the Rockefeller Center ice skating rink was a delight and the ambiance of the restaurant was romantic and neat. While they are versed in seafood dishes, the dessert left a lot to be desired. Overall, I would recommend. Skip the dessert and you'll walk away having a fabulous experience.
Best it has been in a long time. The new chef and manager are terrific, and the old staff continue to provide an outstanding product.
I have been here many times and this time we had the worst service ever. I guess if I go back because I do like the food, I will have to ask for my favorite waiter because the one we had this time was never around. Our plates were not cleared between courses and we waited more than a 1/2 hour for each course to come out and it was lukewarm. No opportunity to send it back because no one came to our table. Not sure if the bus boy was trained or not. Usually management comes around to the table to check how you are doing and this didn't happen either.
I was really surprised because this was a special dinner event with a prix fixe menu so I can't imagine it was the chef's fault not getting the food out on time. It sure seemed like a lack of supervision.
The coat check in and departure was the only good service we received. The bread guy did come around constantly offering bread.
For this special Mardi Gras dinner the food was interesting and good, but the service was a bit sloppy. Although servers passed me with trays of rolls and bread to bring to other tables, no one served me until I asked for some. In the four-course meal, I was served the first course, then the third course (entree); when that was finished, my waiter realized I'd never received my second course, so he brought it then! This is most unusual for this excellent restaurant; I hope it's not a sign of things to come.
Mardi Gras dinner. Great food, ambiance and service. Jazz band too!
We loved the food and we had wonderful time!
The meal and wine was amazing but some People of the Service Team need more Education.
The courses were served too fast and it feels like you get rushed. A bit more time between the courses would be nice or a short question if you would like the next course.
We came for restaurant week. The food was outstanding. We were a party of six, and we all came a little early so that we could enjoy happy hour at the bar. Unfortunately, the bar area is very small. So they were able to seat us at the table we were going to use, as I guess there was no large party coming in earlier. So we had our cocktails at the table prior to ordering our meal. The drinks were great. Unfortunately, there were not happy hour drink specials. So we ended up running up a large bar tab. We enjoyed our meal immensely. The good was very tasty, and beautifully presented. Of course, our restaurant week dinner ended up costing us twice as much as what the meal was going for, because of our bar tab, and supplement fees for the surf and turf meal. But that was OK, as we always plan on spending more than what the restaurant week meal is. And it was so worth it.
Because of the size of our party, we sat near the back at a large round table, and really did not get to enjoy the view of the skating rink. However, we did see it when we were walking through the restaurant, and we saw with the smaller tables were able to enjoy the view. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Everybody who worked that was very nice and accommodating to us. That was a very big plus. And it was really nice being seated at around table, we could all see and speak to each other.
Overall, it was really a wonderful meal, and a great experience.
Very good experience and overall great ambiance. Enjoyed the food. The service from the entrance to exit was excellent.
Good overall, but a bit overpriced.
I went here for my birthday dinner with a couple of friends. I was running late as it was quite nasty outside (POURING rain). I also just simply couldn't find the place (there is an elevator you need to take down etc etc). When I arrived the maitre d exclaimed they were all waiting for me (in a tone of impatience not excitement). It was my birthday (as mentioned in my reservation) and I really was already stressed and sweaty trying to get to my waiting friends so I found that to be rude and a bit much. I thought perhaps because it was restaurant week that they were swamped and needed the tables but it was empty as it was 5:30 pm. Alrighty then. When we finished our meal we didn't even get a chance to finish our drinks and relax as the maitre d asked if we would finish up at the bar as he had a guest/supplier whose daughter said she MUST see the skating rink. Mind you it was raining, no one was on the ice and there were other empty tables with the seating that could have accommodated the gentleman and his daughter. Granted he offered us a drink on the house but I thought it/him to be a bit classless which is ironic because I think tasteful and "above" is what he was trying to emulate. The food was DELICIOUS and the waiter amusing but I wouldn't come back here again. There is fine dining and tasteful and then there is being cold/inhospitable and "stush." What is sad is that it made me wonder if we were getting this treatment because we didn't look like big rollers and I hate to go there or even entertain thoughts like this but I was really disappointed on what was to be a special day/treat.
