Great NYC classic restaurant in Rockefeller Center. Just love this place and have been many times. Food and service are excellent and view seasonal--skaters in winter and Tree at Christmas, summer outdoor diners--always fun. Think it is one of few NYC classics that retains high standards and continaully attracts both tourists and native New Yorkers. Be sure to make reservations well in advance. One of our favorite restaurants and we live here!

The food was very tasty, indeed. The Restaurant week menu was good with very generous portions. That’s the only two good things, this restaurant has to offer. If only the service was too match it. Friday night dinner and it seemed as there was the only waitress for the entire restaurant. It took forever for the food to come. As we received deserts, no one even bothered to ask us if we want some coffee or tea. Finally, after 15 minutes, I got attention of someone and was able to order cappuccino, when I almost finished my desert. Another very unpleasant thing was when we were seated at the table. As we arrived, the restaurant was pretty much empty, still we were seated literally within an inch of another party, why?? Then, when I asked to move us somewhere else, we ended up at the very corner table, with the window facing a corner and a dirty napkin at the table. It was just unacceptable! When I asked for a nice table at the window, I was told it’s a table for 4 people and they would not seat 2 people there, and all those 4 people are arriving within the next 15 minutes. My party consisted of 2 people. Long and behold, 30 minutes later, they’ve seated 2!!! people at that same table. Again, why?? Why I was refused the table, when I asked for it and they lied straight to my face??! Disappointing experience and mediocre customer service! Will NOT be back! Restaurant just lost its appeal and great customer service it used to have before.

Restaurant week choices definately sufficed. Had the pouched shrimp salad and Cod baba ghanoush. I highly recommend. They have a key lime pie second to none.

The seafood was wonderful - a red snapper in my case. The venue is very attractive. Service was quick and helpful.

There are few experiences as special as dining in a elegant restaurant such as The Sea Grill, which is tucked into Rockefeller Plaza, virtually at the golden feet of the Prometheus statue, while surrounded by stunning Art Deco edifices. This is one of the "classic" New York fine dining establishments, which should be experienced at least once. Fish (at least mine, red snapper filet) was done to grilled perfection, on a bed of deep-green spinach. Do try a glass (or two, or a bottle) of the Viognier, which is straight out of Long Island. Who knew? With its refreshing flavor and flawless graham cracker crust, Sea Grill's signature key lime cheesecake puts all others to shame. Then there was Costas, our server. He knows everything about the menu, and probably about every other restaurants' menus, for that matter. Costas is patient, personable, and, most importantly, wants YOU to be happy. The Sea Grill is not for everyday dining, but there should be one day in your lifetime when you dine there. It will be memorable.

We went during the summer when the bar is set up where the ice skating rink is.....that’s where you want to be in the summer.
We stayed anyway.....we were seated and no one came by for over 10 minutes. Once we finally ordered our lunch the food took forever and they weren’t even busy. The meal was pretty good, but the level of attention from the waiter was poor.

While the setting and food were quite appealing, a private party in the adjacent bar area made for an intolerable noise level and conversation was impossible. I am accustomed to noisy Manhattan restaurants but this reached a new level of an intolerable dining experience.

Restaurant week. Seafood chowder was very nice. My rare steak was overcooked. Very small piece of NY Strip. Waitress disagreed with me but mgr agreed overcooked. Chef said 15 min for a new steak!! Couldnt wait had a show to get to. Only takes about 4 to 5 min for rare. Ate my sides and ate later somewhere else. No compensation offered. Dessert wasnt good either. Bland key lime pie. Sea grill isn't what it used to be.

This restaurant is a gem. The ambiance is classy but warm. Food is delicious, my daughter and I ordered the three course dinner which is priced nicely for restaurant week. The dessert choices for the course was not very appealing for us, but our wonderful waitress made sure that we get our hankering for chocolate. Will definitely go back again.

I booked this restaurant because it is close to my office. It turned out my friend and her son who are visiting the town have been thinking about trying this restaurant. We sat outside next to the skate rind looking up the surrounding and people up the streets. And also it is the restaurant week so we got a great deal on the dinner. Everything was perfect. My friend and her son could not be happier.

The crab cakes and the portobello fries are incredible. The food there is always consistent. We had a waitress called Kim. She was especially friendly and even offered to take our group picture. Rockafeller Center is my favorite spot in New York. I love the golden statue and all the flags in the Summer, and the Christmas tree and skaters in the winter.

A bit disappointing, food wise. The lobster special was nothing special. The main had undercooked vegetables and a bland sauce. Dessert excellent, and the oysters beforehand excellent. Nonetheless great space to dine in.

We haven't been to the Sea Grill in 15 years and returned last night for the lobster dinner with a friend who wanted a lobster dinner. It was terrific and I cannot imagine why it wasn't more busy than it was. The room and the patio are very nice. Staff is terrific and the location can't be beat. Maybe it's the competition at this time of year with tables on what is usually the ice skating rink. CONSIDER THE SEA GRILL. LET'S FILL IT UP.

Seafood is absolutely delightful! Sushi and oysters - fresh, flavorful and prepared with little ingredients to have the natural flavors of the seafood speak for itself. Impeccable service - they truly bend over backwards for you!

My husband and I went with two friends to The Sea Grill's special 4-course crab prix fixe dinner. Under other circumstances the dinner would have been a good deal, but the service was terrible. It was though we were purposely ignored and I don't know why. It wasn't because the restaruant was full; several tables around us were empty and remained empty during our meal. After the first time we were served tap water, then offered bread but not butter until some time later, we had to repeatedly request water, request bread and the butter was never replaced. When the water glass was refilled for one of us the other glasses weren't refilled. It wasn't that we used water in lieu of wine; we ordered 2 bottles of wine. Remember, this was a semi-set menu with only 3 choices for the 2 courses (appitizer and desert) not pre-selected by management. Furthermore the 1st and 2nd course were predominately made up of cold or room tempature selections. Nevertheless the wait to be served the 1st course was long; the wait for the 2nd course grew longer. My husband lost patience and demanded to speak to the manager. His angry conversation with the manager did result in more attentive service, but there shouldn't have been a need to berate the manager to get appropriate service.

The food was very good. The location is amazing. Our service was slow and the waiter seemed uninterested in us. Not sure if it was because we had a our children with us or for other reasons. I wanted it to be a special experience for my children and it fell short of that goal.
