The Sea was the perfect venue to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We were welcomed upon arrival with the utmost courtesy, respect, and professionalism and this treatment continued throughout our dining experience. The ambiance and the service were superb highlighted by an array of culinary delights coupled with fine wine and bubbly. The various spirits, appetizers, entrees, and desserts were brought to the table with a story of its origin and creation. The overall experience was breath taking and memorable. I highly recommend The Sea for any and all occasions. Thanks to the Hostess, GM, Executive Chef, Barista. Maria, Amanda, and all the offer staff members who made our wedding anniversary "Special".
My favorite restaurant. Thank you, as always, for the exceptional service and food! See you soon!
All the food was good except the desserts. I ordered the Rise N Shine and Pineapple Express. Rise N shine was not the same as the one I had at the regular Alexander’s Steakhouse in Cupertino, and it tasted bad. Pineapple Express had too much cream overall. Service was very good. They split all the appetizers into 2 portions for me and my friend, which is very thoughtful and considerate.
I would definitely go again and order different appetizers.
The tasting menu didn't change from the first time we came (1 year ago) so we decided to get entrees this time. We had lobster rocks as an appetizer which is basically lobster in squid ink tempura. It was cool but not amazing that I'd order again. I had the miso black cod and it did not disappoint! They gave a good amount of fish and was very full by the time I finished my plate. My boyfriend had the australian meat entree (TJ something i think?) and he didn't like it as much as the American meat that we tried when we had the tasting menu last year. Now he knows which meat he likes! We got the Rocher for dessert and I didn't care much for it. I wish we had tried a different one. Overall, amazing service and the complimentary bread is always something i really look forward to!
Excellent foods and service
We took my son there for his birthday. He loves steak and although the restaurant has "Sea" in its moniker, the steaks were outstanding. We were seated immediately and our waitress was very attentive though not overly so. My T-bone was terrific (though I must say no-one grills a T-bone like I do - ahem, ahem). So were the NY steaks ordered by my son and wife. Overall it was a very pleasant experience and thoroughly enjoyable.
Great food and great service at a premium price.
One of the best meals we have had in some time. The staff was absolutely wonderful too
Food was not good and they ruined the Uni. Overpriced and not worth it
The Sea is for gourmets on a special occasion. The food is only rivaled by the quality of the service. Love the place!
Great as always
The food was meticulously prepared and thoroughly excellent. The chowder was an especial highlight of the meal, with its light flavours and variety of textures between the battered and fried clams, and the crunchy vegetables. The chocolate soufflé was fluffy, decadent, and so utterly delicious I could not stop myself from polishing it off in under a minute.
The serving staff were very attentive but discrete, and the general quiet atmosphere allowed us to have a spirited conversation to accompany the wonderful food. Our only complaint is that the decor was a little cheap-looking.
There is also a large menu of very creative cocktails.
The restaurant is very elegant, clean and quiet. The food is tasty and served in unique way. The server was very professional. It was a pleasant way to celebrate my birthday.
I have already recommended to our friends to go there!
Fantastic experience! Celebrated my birthday without letting them know in advance and they surprised us with champagne and dessert! Food was delicious, service was amazing, overall experience incredible!
Food is very good but prices are over the top.
Food and venue were fine but their aim for service excellence is lacking for such an establishment. Server didn't know how to process a prepaid card and when we found out what she was doing wrong after calling the card company the following day, management refused to refund original payment and properly charge the prepaid card. So we couldn't use a gift card because a server screwed up and they made little effort to correct that.
The food, service, and environment were spectacular for an Easter brunch, But the accessibility wasn’t great; especially the elevator to the restrooms that got stuck.
My mom is claustrophobic and it ruined the entire experience. The elevator’s emergency bell did not ring, nor did the emergency call box call anyone, it just kept ringing and ringing. Miraculously, we managed to get out, the door randomly opened and we walked through the parking lot to return to our table. The staff was very apologetic, but for a fine dining experience their straight steakhouses leave a better impression.
Restaurant is excellent, but on a minor note, be ready for 20% gratuity include in the bill, even for 2 persons...
It was great.
Great service. Great food. Amazing desserts.
Was disappointed in the flavors of the fish entrees. My four guests agreed. Ordered halibut, lobster, sea bass. None were special.
Clam Chowder and appetizers were very good.
Good Friday dinner.
Squid risotto, Maryland blue crab cake and crab meat in grits, pan seared Mero and Sea Bass. Dessert Lady in Pink is delicious and delightful. Heinz had his chocolate delight. German wine tonight: gruner veltliner and Riesling.
Uriel is our server. He is very prompt , attentive but not overbearing.
Max is the sommelier. As always, he’s fantastic and knowledgeable.
Very satisfied and relaxing evening.
Like Alexander Steak House, The Sea is where we visit at least once a month for great food, wine and personal space.
If you are willing to spend $200 ( or more) for dinner for two, don’t spend it anywhere else but Alexander or the Sea. Totally worth it.
Terrific menu, outstanding service, excellent adult beverages. A winner in my book!
Everything was perfect, as always. Thank you!
We were celebrating a family dinner for my husband’s birthday. The restaurant provided special drinks, desserts and other moments throughout the meal in honor of his special day. The food was fantastic, service friendly, professional and knowledgeable. We will definitely return to eat here again.
A complete wow! I was dining by myself (something I'm not fond of) and the restaurant went out of their way to make me feel comfortable. I had the 4 course tasting menu and with two amuse bouche "starters" and two amuse bouche desserts, I felt like someone was always keeping me company. Each dish was explained carefully and with detail and professionalism. The food was amazing, each dish better than the next. I especially loved the selection of breads and the cotton candy dessert. Go here alone, go with a date, go with a family; just go!
So Good! Looked on line for a seafood restaurant to celebrate a birthday while visiting my son at Stanford. The outside of the building isn’t much to look at and I was concerned until we walked inside. We were greeted warmly by the staff as well as by the tasteful interior with beautiful flower arrangements and soft but adequate lighting and crisp white tablecloths. I can not say enough about the wonderful people catering to our delightful meal. The food was beautifully presented and delicious. The Hamachi shots are indeed a must as everyone else said. The black cod and sea bass were perfectly prepared. I have to say we weren’t big fans of the deserts but the cotton candy they offer each table at the end of the meal was truly a delight and also greT coffee. We were prepared for a large bill but felt it was worth it for the special experience.
The food was incredible - shout out to the Big Apple (dessert) which was heavenly!!!
Overpriced. The wagyu ribeye that i ordered as medium raw was served to my friend who ordered medium done.
The steak have alot of veins and not as tender as a wagyu should be. Black pepper corns on the steak stole the show, a dash of salt would have been better. The steak needs to be paired with something refreshing such as fresh salad. Unable to finish the steak as it is simply not as nice as I would think a $80 steak should be.
It was awesome! One of the best meals in a long time. The service was amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance was high class. We will definitely be back.
My family and I had a great time having dinner at The Sea. It was the wedding anniversary of my parents and the staff did everything to make that day more special.
This was my choice to celebrate our 11th year anniversary with my partner. When we got to the place , it doesn’t seems like a restaurant, it looks like a senior homes .. But when we got in , it is decent and pretty spacious. The service was excellent from the front and to the servers. The foods are okay.. Our excellent choice was the Hamachi shots.. They gave us a complimentary Chef’s appetizer of choice , 3 pieces of French macaroons with dark chocolate and a cotton candy. The price is okay not too overrated. I don’t mind going back to this place.
A fantastic alternative to Alexander’s Steakhouse. Still has steak for the non-seafood eaters but the seafood itself is to die for. A little on the pricy side, but the food is overall worth it.
Excellent restaurant, excellent food, excellent service--just love this restaurant; perfect for a special meal. ..and the rest rooms are clean!!!! Recommend this 100%
If your party needs a notch above the ordinary in food, presentation, and service, this is the place in the valley to entertain. Centrally located, not too pretentious, and manageable in noise, it's the perfect restaurant for me :-)
First visit to the restaurant after hearing great things from clients. We were a table of two and were sat away from the main dining room in some sort of annex that had no warmth or atmosphere. There was one other table sat in a small room with four tables in it, no music or vibe. Not what we expected and would be reluctant to return - fish was cooked well but that was about it.
The service, presentation and flavor profiles were excellent. Friendly and professional staff. Plenty of parking.
Excellent menu and service. The food was spectacular. I would pass on the chocolate soufflé dessert if I went back.
Perfect place to celebrate my birthday with friends and family! Excellent service and food!
Our table had the five-course sampler, All courses were exquisitely delicious. Combine that with impecable, unobtrusive service to make a great dining experience.
