The Sea by Alexander's Steakhouse

The Patio seating was very comfortable and the service excellent. The scallops (U-10s) were excellently prepared. The Paella was well seasoned, tasty, however it was a little on the dry side.

We had a wonderful night. Kudos to The Sea for creating an elegant, safe & relaxing environment for a special occasion.

Our waiter was exceptional and made sure that despite it being cold outside and Covid-19, he still made it an excellent experience as if we were dining indoors.

Their patio dining is excellent! Well spaced out, nice ambience, with plenty of heat lamps for staying warm. Food, as always, is superb.

The restaurant is nicish, but in no way worth the price.

We felt very safe dining on the patio, as the tables were very well-spaced and it was not crowded at all. Service, food, beverages and hospitality were impeccable! I’ve dined at the Sea several times, and they’ve maintained, and perhaps even surpassed, their high standards during COVID. They made sure that everyone felt safe in while also providing a fine dining experience.

The service is everything. Our waitress told us up front that gloves are changed for every table and all other COVID protocols. But aside from COVID logistics, she was attentive, detailed, and showed great personality. Our food was brought out in perfect timing, the specials and suggestions were amazing, and we were truly "wined and dined."

Post-Covid return to a favourite Bay Area restaurant. Went early on a Sunday evening, and it was pretty quiet. Sat outside on the patio, under the heat lamps, meaning that even though it was a chilly evening, we didn't notice.
The food was excellent as always, although the menu options did seem to be less than on previous visits. That said, my favourite go-tos were still available, including the tuna tartare and the lobster rocks.
Had a wonderful evening. Look forward to returning again soon.

The only reason why I did not give a perfect score is because when I went to the rest room a guest also went to the bathroom and she did not have a MASK on and this made me uncomfortable.
With the pandemic, I think everyone should be REQUIRED to wear a mask at all times unless they are sitting at their table. The restaurant should make sure this is enforced.

The food was good, the setting was nice. It just didn't seem as polished as the other Alexander's restaurants we've been to. We went there for a special occasion, but didn't really get more than good wishes from the waiter. I would have expected something a bit more celebratory

80th Birthday.

One of the dining rooms has hard floors, walls and ceiling. Even though only four tables were occupied, the noise level was objectionable. Fortunately, the other dining room, adjoining the kitchen has carpeted floors and the noise level was much quieter.

Great food and great service . Would go there again .

I am surprised The Sea by Alexander is not in the Top 10 lists. It is better than any other restaurant in the list for Special Occasions in the South Bay Area of San Francisco, food and ambience are top too.

Our server Johanna was super friendly and attentive. The food was really outstanding. The King Salmon and the Wagyu Flat Iron were delicious. We loved the the truffle fries.

We went to celebrate our anniversary and they made us feel they were celebrating with us.

The house gave me a complementary glass of champagne to start the evening and a delicious gelato to end the evening. So delightful.

We enjoyed our dinner very much . The patio is very nice for social distancing and nice and airy . The service is beyond excellent . Our server Joanna was excellent and accommodating.
.We both had the miso cod which was delicious as it included bits of chopped lobster . The oysters were very fresh and the hamachi shots were so cool and refreshing . We were pleasantly pleased with the lobster fred rice and had enough to take home . Overall we had a very wonderful evening and a fun experience !

Food is excellent albeit a bit expensive. Service is very attentive, felt a little rushed at the beginning but then found a better rhythm. Lovely setting on the deck.

We celebrated our 11th Anniversary at "The Sea." The fish was fabulous, the service was outstanding, and the outside seating was comfortable and COVID safe. Highly recommended!

We tried the Bavarian specials to celebrate Oktoberfest and it's a mixed bag. The bratwurst appetizer was good but the veal dinner was half good. The veal chop was amazing, flavorful and juicy. Unfortunately, the veal schnitzel was dry and bland. The side order of hericot vert was bland as well and the beans were tough to chew. Our server was nice enough to take it off our bill without us asking. I enjoyed my dinner but wish it was a perfect 10, rather than a 7.5.

2 year anniversary dinner was a success.

The food and service were outstanding. We were presented half glasses of rose Champagne in honor of my birthday; and shared a miniature dessert surprise as well. The ambience was disappointing. I had requested a cozy table and we were seated in the middle of the patio at a table for four when many other tables were available. A noisy family with small children and a baby, who appeared to move of their own volition to a table in front of us (from one behind us), did not wear masks as stipulated when interacting with the servers; and the parents walked around the patio with the baby, also without masks. They were not corrected. This was disrespectful of the staff and all the diners.

We had a wonderful birthday dinner at The Sea. The tasting menu and accompanying wines were delicious, and we enjoyed sitting at the lovely patio with a tropical feeling. The staff were very nice and provided excellent service.
