Everything was fantastic! My wife and I had a friend from out of town and we could not have asked for a more perfect day as well as a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner! Was so beautiful and quiet and the service was top notch! We will be back most definitely!
was a really good experience staff did a great job making sure occasion was memorable
The food was very well prepared and excellent. Service very attentive too. Eating on the patio by real wood burning fireplace provided great ambience.
The menu at the restaurant recently changed to a more traditional American fare with just one italian dish. This was disappointing as italian was the food we were looking for. But what we got was still quite acceptable to my colleagues and I.
The somewhat harsh rating for this restaurant, I hope, is primarily a result of being "off season" in the heat of a Scottsdale summer. The resort itself is tired and past it's prime and its restaurant is no exception. What it lacks in updated decor could be mitigated somewhat by having customers. While a romantic dinner for two is not an occasion for crowds, neither should it be in silent isolation as was the case here. The clientele was outnumbered by staff 2:1.
The food, while very good, did not justify the pricing. The preparation was competent but not anything special and I do sympathize with any establishment that has to maintain fresh ingredients and the ability to prepare anything on the menu at anytime - even if that time is unlikely to come on a given night.
The service was very attentive and appropriate. Given that the wait staff had only us to serve, they exhibited professionalism and restraint so as to be available but not intrusive.
While we may try Taggia again, it will be "in season" when the place has some "vibe" and kitchen in in full swing and at it's best.
Taggia expanded their menu which was nice suprise....food and service fabulous as always😊
We were extremely disappointed to fins out on arrival that the menu was totally different
from the last several times we visited.
It no longer offered the variety of fine dining entrees it had once offered,
We were informed there was new management, and this was why this occurred.
Had we known this, we would not have made the reservation.
The entrees we ordered were good but certainly not a value at all.
The hotel is undergoing changes, new ownership etc, and while the restaurant has good quality food, the menu is fairly limited. Overall it is just okay with a lovely hospitable waitstaff.
Enjoyed a really delicious dinner-outstanding Bronzino with a quinoa/kale sauce. We also had an exceptional server who anticipated our needs.
We stayed at the hotel and the service for breakfast was awful. We had to wait 15 min before we were seated and then an additional 15 min before we got service.
A nice hotel restaurant for hotel guests. I do not see it as a destination spot for locals or tourists. Does not stand up to other restaurants included in the "Preferred Restaurants Dining Group". Our server, Will, was very pleasant and helpful. The pizza I had was good but nothing special.
Our server Wil was great....always makes all the food sound so enticing!!!!
Very relaxed atmosphere.surroundings felt like you were dining in the tropics! Food was very tasty and enjoyable. Bread pudding was DIVINE!!
The service was prompt and courteous. The mushroom soup starter was a disappointment but the gnocchi entree was very good. The restaurant inside is lacking in ambiance, but the outside area is quite attractive. Good place for a mid week casual dinner.
One of our very favorite places to eat - always great service, always great food -
Reasonably priced -
It's a special place - friends and family all enjoy our visits there
Our party of 6 each ordered a different dish and we all thought our choice was wonderful. We asked for a quiet table so we could enjoy conversation and we did have a quiet area. It was so congenial that we talked for another hour after we had finished dinner.
The ambiance was great food choices were limited but were very good
Overall a disappoinment.
Typical hotel restaurant.
Second visit to Taggia. Our waiter, Will, was a delight. The food was beautifully served and delicious. We ate on the patio and watched the sun set--lovely spot.
The orecchiette chicken was wonderful with the Riesling. It's unfortunate that the margherita pizza had to be blotted out with napkins because it was so greasy. We sat outside and the pool noise didn't make for the best ambiance. Waitress did a great job making sure we were taken care of.
Beautiful resort-like setting with pretty views of pool and gardens, but food was expensive and below average. Though the food was beautifully presented and service prompt, both were completely unremarkable.
I have lived in the valley for over 10 years and never been to Taggia. I had seen the gas flames on the pillars outside and thought I would like to go in sometime - but finally went in this last weekend and it was AMAZING! The best meal I've had in the valley. Bar none. I would recommend to anyone for anytime!!!
Was a little disappointed in the menu selection as well as wine selection.
The Brandy Alexander was EXCELLENT!
The quietness was good for the business dinner.
Taggia offers a good range of Italian choices in a lovely outdoor setting. Menu options range from personal pizza to a selection of entrees. Prices are on par with other Scottsdale restaurants, and service is attentive and professional. We tried the pasta bolognese, grilled salmon, and veal with polenta entrees. Wine list was extensive, with a good selection of by the glass choices in the $10-13 range.
always excellent food and service are amazing! we continue to phase and return over and over again! Mac and his team are top notch!
This is the house restaurant in a Kimpton-run resort in Scottsdale. It lives up to Kimpton's adorable personality. The outdoor seating had a little fume smell (not sure if from the torches or what) but otherwise it was absolutely delightful, great sky view, and beautiful decorations. The winner option is the Presso Fisso (three courses). The gnocchi was particularly divine. The steak was solid - the cooking was spot on and the cippoline onion purée and the rosemary really notch the dish up. The tiramisu was also good although I didn't care for it being chocolate dipped - the sauce was plenty and the chocolate dip made it just a touch waxy. I would definitely go back to try other dishes and wish my fiancé had been here to try it also.
It was great to revisit Taggia again, as I had not been in for dinner in a long while. Service was fantastic!
The food was very good, and it was a very pleasant dining experience. I love the Mista Salad, and the Branzino, (which is a stripped bass), with Quinoa and Kale. Delicious! Thank you Lauren, for your terrific service throughout the meal. I'm glad to have Taggia at FireSky in my neighborhood.
Beautiful setting and delicious food! I had the roast chicken and it was wonderful. I also had the winter colada cocktail and enjoyed it. Cocktails were a bit on the pricey side. Food was great.
We mostly had appetizers, but every one of them had a unique flavor that has to be experienced to believe how good it really was. The Crudo with the olives and ahi was our favorite.
My Dad and other family members visited me from Europe, and I took them to Taggia. We went on Valentine's Day and although the restaurant was extremely busy, our server Hector made sure that everything went perfectly smooth. We couldn't have had better service and we truly appreciated his professionalism and kindness! There were 6 of us dining in total. Our favorite appetizer was the fresh burrata and grilled calamari, but equally as delicious was the mista! The Branzino (striped bass) turned out to be our absolute favorite entree, but the Brasato (veal) was very close to take the first prize too! You can NOT go wrong with any of the desserts! But I assure you that their cheesecake is the best in town and you can't find Tiramisu like this anywhere in AZ! Mac, the charming manager of the restaurant, stopped by to check if everything was to our satisfaction. Great location, beautiful lobby, nice ambiance, friendly staff, great service! I highly recommend this place! We will definitely be back!
surpeisingly good excellent service I HAVE NEVER TIPPED 25% BEFORE but our surver was exceptional
The food and the service are sub par, This is very fair Italian food.
Taggia was just wonderful. The food was delicious, and our wait person a delight. We sat outside and watched the sun set!
I am a frequent guest at Firesky and eat many meals at Taggia. My most recent is typical of those I have had before and likely have not reviewed. It was a cool evening, but being from the north we asked for outdoor seating with a heater. We had a heat, by a waterfall and fireplace, attentive to our every need. Service was prompt and efficient, although they seemed to have trouble with us being the only people outside and maybe a little understaffed inside on a busy night we were ok with slight lapses in attentiveness, which we understood. Wine list is excellent and appropriately priced, the special bottles a great value. Misto salad and crudo tuna appetizers excellent, a fine branzino with healthy accompaniments and a wonderful veal dish were both beautifully prepared and served. The presentations were as attractive as the food was good. We find Kimpton hotel restaurants consistent across the country in their quality and innovation, and this did not disappoint. Highly recommended.
Great food, lovely service! They gave great food and drink suggestions, restaurant had a lovely atmosphere.
Excellent dining, food choices, presentation and taste with excellent service. We've never eaten here before and chose the restaurant since it was one of the few restaurants in the Phoenix metro area that were open for dinner New Years Eve 2015. Our Waiter, Will, was passionate in his description of the items on the menu, their preparation and ingrediants and shared his favorites and why he preferred them.
The dishes were outstanding...presentation, taste and value.
The noise level did get a little high.
We came here on New years Eve. This was our first visit. Walking into the hotel we noticed a very nicely decorated lobby and lounge area, but ounce we got to the restaurant we were surprised just how bland the decor was. The furniture looked like they purchased at Walmart. Lighting was bright, nothing decorated for New years eve. To be blunt, this place was just ugly.
Having good food is obviously the most important thing for a restaurant, but having good ambiance brings it all together for a great experience. We left disappointed in our dining experience and won't return.
We went during Christmas week and this hotel dining room just didn't have any holiday business. We dined essentially alone and it wasn't much fun. We'll try it another time.
This is one of our favorite restaurants! We were disappointed this time because they told us they could not turn on the heaters on the patio and they could not build a fire in the fireplace due to "no burn" yet the fire pit on the patio by the bar was blazing. Grrr Besides that, we normally eat outside, staff is friendly and helpful, food is AMAZING wine is delicious!
Highly recommend this location even though it is in a hotel, the entrance, bar and ambiance is perfect!
THIS IS NO BETTER THEN A PLACE AT THE MALL CHANGE MENU TO SAVE MONEY WILL NEVER EVER EAT AT THIS PLACE AGAIN , I ADDRESS ALL MY CONCERNS AT THE MANGER AND STAFF BEFORE I ORDER AND AFTER THE BAD MEAL I GOT AND THEY DID NOTHING AT ALL IT WAS MY WIFE'S BIRTHDAY THAT DAY .
