    Great service and enjoyed the venue. Food was good but not awesome. Did not wow me but very solid effort. When it was recommended was expecting a bit more like a beard nominee. Perfectly fine and would recommend to others as a nice place to go.

    Our first dinner at The Sawyer and will definitely not be our last. The staff (entire) was attentive, professional and smiled. The food was outstanding. Don’t know exact what they are doing but was refreshing to see and very satisfying.

    What a great dining experience. The Chef does a outstanding job! The Salmon is cooked perfectly and the Fried chicken was crispy on the outside and tender and moist on the inside. The service was exceptional, our server Gabby was a delight and ever so attentive. It’s a great atmosphere and we look forward to our next dining experience at Sawyer’s. Let’s just say, it never disappoints:)

    Wonderful early meal out on the patio. Could not of asked for a better dining experience. The waitress Gabby was great. Very real and friendly. Nice to be treated kindly and sincere. Top notch night.

    We have been to the Sawyer so many times over the years with family and friends. Historically it has been fantastic. Tonight not sure what was up but the staff seemed out of it. My main was not hot. To start between server and the bar keeps they could not figure what was on draft and it took three trips to figure that out and get my beer to me. Then later in the meal forgot the second beer ordered. Wife’s drink was basically ginger beer with ice not a virigin mojito. My wife’s salad the server asked if she was going to be ok with the feta in it (garden salad) as wife did not want any other protein. Wife said yes feta is great and I commented she loves feta. Salad showed….no feta. Food service for mains generally this night was slow. Bummer as Sawyer is a favorite when we come to our mountain home and we have recommended to others countless times but wow not sure what is happening or if it just the Lake Tahoe service issue problems extending to this location. Heard a table next to us with issues also. Atmosphere is always great though.

    Thank you very much for the positive review. For future visits, our current menu has 3 GF salads, 1 GF appetizer, all of our pizzas can be made with a GF crust, and we have 2 GF entrees. All our denoted on the menu as such, however in many cases if you inform your server, they can request our chefs to find a GF modification for you. We hope to see you again soon!

    Super disappointed.. we absolutely love this place… have been several times… today a reservation for 4:30 pm….no pizza’s available with 4 on the menu… our favorite chicken wings honey siracha no longer available… short ribs no longer available… we were told they were short staffed..the place is just beautiful … gorgeous setting… hi hope they do something to improve

The menu has changed, yes, due to availability of product and ease of preparation. Due to severe housing shortages in the area, we find ourselves like most businesses in the area, incredibly short on staff. Even the 2 local Starbucks locations have had to close because they simply cannot staff them. We hope you will come back again soon. Thank you for your valuable feedback.

    Service was very poor. Server was new and very young, so don't blame her. Manager should have given her more support. Many menu items were not available. Overall NOT a good experience.

    The beautiful patio pictured on their website is for members only, but this is not stated, so it is unknown when reserving. Ideally, they should be removed from OpenTable as essentially they are a private club.

    We love the view and the vibe here. They accommodated a large party of 8 and were very nice when we arrived. Unfortunately we were sitting in no-man’s land and our first round of drinks took 45 minutes to deliver. The food came out in batches of two - so that the last salad arrived about 20 minutes after the first pizza. The pizzas were tasty but the chicken on the wedge salad was over cooked and not warm. We asked for a fresh piece of grilled chicken and were told it would take too long. We ordered the cookie skillet for dessert and later were told they were sold out. The check took an extraordinarily long time to arrive and settle.

    Hello Ladies, I remember your group as myself and another manager attended to your concerns & bought several rounds of drinks for your table as well as your desserts and that salad in attempt to recover the situation. You caught us on a really bad night, I'm sorry. It was July 5 and our restaurant has never been busier. The check was split into 4 and yes, there had been a mistake we had to fix that took longer than it should have because the computer froze. I hope you visit us again from Dallas.

    After enjoying our dining experience a year ago we were eager to return. Unfortunately this experience was hit and miss. The server while pleasant was spread far too thin to provide any assistance. The food was mediocre. Despite being told the meatball appetizer was not available we watched multiple orders make their way to other tables over the next 45 minutes. An $18 Caprese salad consisted of 8 cherry tomatoes cut in half, half an heirloom tomato and three small mozzarella balls. The wings were bland, lacked seasoning and were simply dipped in barbecue sauce. The scallops were not seared, they were charred on one side. The lobster tail and crab sandwich was quite good according to two guests as were the fried chicken sandwich and similar plate. The prosciutto and pesto pizza was also good. The dessert (skillet cookie with ice cream) arrived undercooked and cold in the center. The reorder was much improved but added 15 minutes of waiting. There was a significant management presence front of the house but honestly the kitchen would have benefited from supervision. We concluded the mixed experience from two trips warrant another try. But we will manage our expectations and hope to be positively surprised.

    I have always loved it at Schaffer's Mill. Last night was a bit of a disappointment since the food was not as good as I have had in the past. I made a mistake and ordered the chicken sandwich and I couldn't eat it because it was too hot. I'm used to seeing some designation if something is hot and it was way too hot. So I had fries and dessert.

    We love The Schaeffer at Sawyer's Mill. We had the meatballs and brussell sprouts as appetizers...both yummy. The salmon was cooked perfectly and we had the orichette pasta and proscuitto pizza. All were great and service was amazing.

    The food was good but my seafood pasta was just luke warm. They were out of short ribs at 5:30 pm. The restaurant is beautiful and service is good. Price was a bit high for lukewarm pasta. The brussel sprouts were very good and so was chicken fried chicken.

    We have eaten here many times. The service is always good and the food consistent. We did have a minor issue with ordering a drink. When the bill arrived there was a $3 charge for ice, which I thought was ridiculous. The Manger was kind enough to straighten it out and we were satisfied. Hopefully, they will correct that matter in the future. We will return.

    We are new owners at Schaffer’s Mill and have been to The Sawyer twice. Great ambiance, food and appetizers delicious. View of the golf course is spectacular and the employees were very welcoming. We will be at the Sawyer a lot.

    Salmon was so soft and tender. But champagne wasn’t cooked off in the black rice. Short ribs were tender and good. But food could have just had better seasoning. Was just expecting better for the price.

    My daughter ordered a GF pizza. After waiting quite a while for all our food the waitress informed us that the GF pizza had mistakenly been taken to another table so the kitchen was making another one. My husband and I received our food and ate, then the waitress came back to say that the new pizza was not GF so they were making a third. We appreciated the honesty and the pizza was removed from the bill and they gave her a complimentary dessert. However, it did mean my daughter ate alone well after we had finished our meal and we were the last guests to leave the restaurant with the staff clearing up around us.
