The Savoy is a historical delight with a seasonally curated menu that never fails inspire. Each dish is a unique experience. The oysters are always top notch. The quality of food is supreme and comes through with each new dish. These ingredients are clearly beautifully sourced. Drinks are divine and a true throwback to older times prior to such things as Triple Sec. They honestly have the best cocktails in KC.
Delicious brunch food and excellent service in a quiet, classic setting.
Wonderful anniversary celebration with excellent food, drinks and ambiance. I never order salmon in a restaurant because I have some go-to recipes I use at home, but our waiter convinced me to try it. The salmon came nestled in a delicious lentil and curry sauce. Truly outstanding.
The historic dining room and bar with stained glass windows is a must visit location.
Great that they have updated to a small, interesting menu
Great menu and great drinks! Would definitely recommend!!
Exceptional at every levell
I am stunned every time we go here. The atmosphere is great, the menu changes often and everything is so good, it is difficult to choose. Last night I had the Faroe Island salmon with confit tomatoes and lentils. The fish was cooked perfectly and the sauce with the lentils was phenomenal. Besides the excellent food, the presentation is only second to The Antler Room, which says something if you've ever been there.
Such a cool atmosphere & amazing food!
The Beef Short Ribs egg benedict with potatoes was the best ever
The Savoy never disappoints! The whole experience was spectacular. Flawless. We’ll be back soon.
Great cocktails and unique space. Would highly recommend.
This was an amazing experience. Food was superb and the staff matched it. Thanks for an outstanding experience. If we return to KC we will definitely make this a stop for dinner.
Amazing experience! A bit pricey for the portion sizes but you’re paying to eat in architectural beauty and a museum… love!
Terrific evening. Visiting for the first time. The meal was beautifully prepared and delicious. Our server was excellent: friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Gorgeous space.
We came here for happy hour and it was amazing. The apps were great, the staff was even better AND they brought over a friend :)
The best brunch I've ever had! I will definitely be returning.
Wonderful atmosphere and great food and wine
This is my first restaurant review. I felt it necessary after what we experienced last night. We were seated at 7:45, table for 4, at the Savoy. I was with my wife, and parents. After we sat down, we waited about 10 minutes for a first interaction with our server. He took our drink order, and vanished. Another 10-15 minutes elapsed, without even water being poured. Prior to our server returning, we were approached by the restaurant manager, wearing a blue, used car-salesman’s suit, and reeking of alcohol. This was the interaction that occurred:
Manager: “....are you....y’all good? You all okay..?”
Us: “Yeah, just having a good night. Yourself?”
Manager: “Yeah, are y’all going to order food, or what?”
Us: “That’s the plan. We haven’t even gotten drinks yet..”
Manager: “Yeah, well if you’re going to order food, you need to order. So, I’ll take your order now.”
Us: “No thanks. We’ll wait for our server.”
He continued to stand at the table and stare at us for about 15 more seconds, to the point where I felt an altercation might occur. He then walked away. Of note, he dropped a tables bottle of alcohol, about 15 minutes later. Smashed all over the restaurant floor. I have never witnessed someone more inappropriate in a restaurant setting.
Our drinks finally arrived. We ordered food. Server never returned. Food finally arrived. Quality of food was not great, but not awful. I would give it 3 stars. Menu seems poorly curated, however. We finished our meal and waited..and waited..and waited. When our server returned, I inquired about the horrible service. He chuckled and stated the manager was having a rough night from partying with friends. The server promised us a “gift” to make up for the poor experience.
The gift itself took about 15 minutes to arrive. My parents leaving due to the hour, before it did. The “gift” was 4 glasses of whiskey. I found that an incredibly odd choice. No dessert? No break on our tab? Not an apology? Just whiskey. Sums this place up.
Incredible food, incredible waiter in Nick. 10/10 worth it. Prime rib was excellent, as was the Chicken.
Fantastic cocktails- bartenders really know what they’re doing. Happy Hour is a must. Dinner was fantastic- don’t be turned away by the limited menu- try something new and I bet you’ll like it!
Such a disappointment in atmosphere and food, especially given Savoy’s deep history in KC. Meal inedible. Art disgusting. Art included murder scene in dollhouse and child molestation. Do NOT recommend. Do not waste your evening or money. Atrocious and appalled the historic Savoy would be presented in such a dark manner.
The service was outstanding. The staff were very friendly and our waiter very very attentive. The trout was excellent and pork as well. A side starch with the pork would have been nice. We enjoyed the caramelized cauliflower appetizer. The plum sorbet on top of the coconut rice pudding was terrific, but I would have preferred a bit more sweetness to the pudding and the rice cooked to a softer texture. It was a bit noisy but not muc to be done about that in this type of venue.
Went to the Savoy to celebrate my wife's birthday with drinks and appetizers, followed by a self-guided tour of the 21C galleries. The restaurant retains the feel and ambiance of the "old Savoy". The drinks were delicious, as were the appetizers, and our server, Ty, was amazing. He could answer any of our questions with great, helpful and descriptive responses, and his recommendations were spot-on (after having only worked there for two weeks at the time of our visit).
It was a great experience. Don't miss it!
Amazing food and great ambiance. The food is worth the price as does not disappoint! Great for any special occasion or date night! Will definitely be back.
Service and food impeccable!
Incredibly delicious food! Unique culinary creations that were so enjoyable
Everything was wonderful. It was our anniversary (which I guess they knew from our reservation), after seating us they brought I two glasses of champagne. The room was quite noisy, but they offered us a booth that was quieter. Very limited menu, but ideal choices for us. We had two appetizers and shared roast beef that was cooked to perfection and very ample for the two of us. A great evening, start to finis.
Greeted by an energetic and happy team in a warm and unique room. The service was informative and cheerful while the food was delicious and creative. We ordered several dishes and shared so we could taste everything. So good! Cocktails are beautifully made. Perfect for everyday dining or special occasions.
Excellent menu choices with a good starter mix. Food was beautifully presented and done to perfection. The scallops were perfect. Excellent wine choices for the meals with a refreshing lightly sweet chardonnay and a smooth pino noir. Historic atmosphere with knowledgeable staff. Can't wait to go back to try something new!
True gem in Kansas City. Eclectic menu. Locally sourced, a focus on distinctive tastes.
Delicious meal! Lobster gnochetti was amazing! My girlfriends had the hamburger and said it was one of the best they ever had!
Food was fabulous, drinks were tasty and cool. Service was wonderful. Noise levels is a touch on the louder side.
Had the best time-beautiful surroundings, wait staff was extremely professional and observant of our needs. Food and cocktails were superb. The staff went the extra mile to celebrate my daughter’s accomplishment. Highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
