   Very nice lunch- limited menu choices, but what we had (burgers, scampi and haddock) was very tasty, nice and hot. Boys loved the sticky toffee pudding. Service was excellent! Would recommend for sure.

   It was quite empty but took a long time for our food to arrive . There was three of us and we ordered two Sunday dinner meals and a steak. Three Sunday dinners arrived after a 30 minute wait. There was a discussion about how long the steak meal would take but it was too long as the other two guests would have finished by the time it arrived. There was no follow up on drinks and we had to ask for things repeatedly. Ultimately disappointing. I have just seen that dogs are no longer welcome in the bar so we won’t return as it was the main/only reason we came to the bar/restaurant . Dog friendly was a unique advantage, without that there are better places to eat with better atmosphere. The dogs added to an offer full atmosphere .

   Fantastic venue. The service was great from the minute we walked in. They were very attentive and friendly offering recommendations for the food. Food was great and a good value. I recommend the Meringue for dessert! They even put a candle in my daughters ice cream and sang happy birthday, she was over the moon. Thank you.

    On arrival as you enter you are greeted with the smell of wet dog which really wasnt great!!! Food was average and the wine was the best bit of it all. Unfortunately we won’t be back any time soon.

    The main meal was a disgrace. No chef should allow such food to leave the kitchen. This was our 2nd visit during Xmas. We had the same as before as we enjoyed so much. We will never return as our evening was totally ruined.

    We all loved our food - lovely family atmosphere at lunch time. The children declared the fondue the best dessert ever! Even though it was busy, the floor staff did a sterling job!

    I love this place, it's my to go to because I don't have to leave the dog at home :-) - three of us for lunch this time, and the food was delicious. Menu is outstanding, lots of choice.

    Had a lovely dinner with my friend to catch up before Xmas...menu was great and food was delicious.. we had a lovely girl who served us. We weren't going for desert but they sounded so nice we couldn't resist and weren't disappointed...it was disappointing that we were the only diners...so very quiet..but it's a lovely relaxing place.     Enjoyed a lovely Sunday light lunch. Varied menu and great that we didn’t have to order a large meal. Vegetarian option was very good. Lovely wine as well. Service was excellent. Only thing we would change is melted rather than liquid cheese on cheesy chip. But we all enjoyed our meal.

    I had my 50th birthday party here last Saturday with family and friends and everything was second to none! The service was above and beyond from the lovely Claire and team, the food was excellent, a brilliant atmosphere and all the team at the Salty Dog could not have been more helpful! It is now a regular watering hole, absolutely great!

    We had. Dinner and drinks. At Salty Dog on Friday night We had such high hopes after hearing good reviews , we ate at 815pm and the restaurant was pretty much empty bar two or three tables of people. We Had our drinks. Quite promptly and then viewed the menu and Ordered 2 steaks. Visually when delivered to table. Looked the part picture on the plate although very small. For £29 each plate I was disappointed. Flavourless and covered in burnt reheated crispy onions prob for height effect in the plate Disappointing Rd in steak and would not recconend it’s chips came in a bowl and when tipped out of bowl they remained in bowl shape. Young waitress was very pleasant. When offered seeet menu we declined. After viewing it and I’ve cream. Or a Chocolate desert or. Cheese and biscuits with one vegan offering of cheese cake. Was again disappointing. And at £8 plus. Per portion it wasn’t even worth a gamble to see if it may be An option to try something vegan All in all. Vastly overpriced. And could be soooo much better In one word the food was …disappointing ! Of course we were asked if all was ok. As sick as first mouthful was in our mouth and off course we said. Yes. Thanks. But honestly I have made more flavoursome dinners at home Must be noted. Staff were very nice. And the night porter is a total gentleman.

    Our meals were lovey and expertly presented. So delicious that we enquired of the chef to discover that the Great British Menu entrant Andy Scollick is the chef at Salty Dog. Well that explains it all! Highly recommend!

    We had a brilliant experience at the Salty Dog, our party were sitting in the Dog friendly part with 2 dogs. The staff were so helpful and attentive, and lots of treats for the dogs. The gentleman and lady who served us were both great craic and are a real credit to the business, we will definitely be back soon!

    Went here for Sunday dinner with my wife and 2 kids. Sat at a table within the bar area rather than the restaurant which was quite relaxed and had a nice ambience to it. My wife and I had the sirloin roast which was very nice albeit slightly cold. Service overall was friendly but a bit scatty. The waitress had little knowledge of the menu or drinks available and we ordered a bottle of wine which the waiter brought over already opened and poured a full glass for my wife to try.

    Good experience. The waitress was friendly and fun. My flat iron steak was a little overcooked and the dessert was not great. Wine excellent. I would go back.

    We decided to eat here at short notice as we had walked our dog nearby. Taken without any fuss. Service was friendly and efficient. Food great and good value. Great to experience a restaurant which allows dogs. Will return again.
