Certainly overpriced, poorly cooked, a disappointment
Extremely disappointed by this over hyped fishy flop. Poor value for money and average food at best.
Not the greatest visit to The Salt Rooms, a birthday surprise spoilt by a below parr menu choice plus the table service was fair,
One and only plus point the mackerel starter was probably the best I’ve had.
The John Dory cooked to perfection however the side slaw played 2nd fiddle
I have always recommended The Salt Room to friends and clients, this certainly won’t be the case based on this experience.
Food ok. Service awful. Asked about a wine, didn't have a clue and vegetarians do not eat fish
Good food but very loud and unpleasant environment. You have to shout to have a conversation which makes it annoying. Staff grumpy and seemingly unhappy to be there, starter arrived along with the main, unjustified service charge
This restaurant came recommend by a follower on Instagram. Clearly a popular place as reservations were hard to come by (be sure to book in advance). However we managed to get in for lunch.
Situated on the front you have amazing views of the sea.
Great ambience inside and out.
The team were very welcoming and on hand for anything you may of needed.
Food was exceptional with lots of choices. Combination of flavours and textures was perfect!
Would highly recommend this place. Great drinks, wine, food and service.
We were staying at a nearby hotel so passed everyday and each day they were busy which just shows how popular this place is. Be sure to visit!
A truly superb meal. Perfect oysters, lovely prawns, great steak and amazing desserts
Fab food and great service. Great for special occasion.
The best meal I’ve had in a long time. Scallops were incredible, great flavours and cooked to perfection. The surfboard was really good, nice mix of different seafood and the aioli was out of this world. Lovely vibe in the restaurant too. It’s nice inside but not overly smart and the waitresses were lovely.
Great service and food to match with a friend ambience all overlooking the sea.
Best food I've had in ages. Can't wait to return!
First visit to Brighton and restaurant was recommended and it didn’t disappoint
I've been here twice, once before 2020 and once yesterday. I've decided it's my favourite restaurant in Brighton.
Great atmosphere great food staff were friendly and well informed service was quick and efficient no trip to Brighton is complete without a meal at the salt room
Lovely evening - great food & great service. A lovely restaurant to return to after so long & a great way to celebrate our anniversary
Good service & friendly staff, could have been a bit quicker but it was busy. Drink prices were extortionate but overall nice atmosphere and great food.
Fantastic food and service. The place itself is a bit tired but highly recommend if looking for fantastic fish.
Good service, delicious food it was first night of being able to eat inside and our anniversary. Good atmosphere inside. Mackerel pate snd sea bass shared fantastic.
Excellent fish dishes but no choice for our vegetarian diner. Music too loud for easy conversation.
Always good sometimes great . This time was great . Seems a shame to order steak but we all did and all had perfectly cooked Rib Eye .
Lovely food Fantastic service staff very friendly
We came here for a birthday lunch and were not disappointed. The oysters were chilled and very fresh and the Surfboard we shared had a great mix of seafood with fries and salad. All the food was delicious and we'll happily come back.
Excellent food and service. Our waiter was lovely. Nice evening despite the covid restrictions meaning we had to sit outside.
We had the sharing plater, lovely wine and sat outdoors, watched the sea in Brighton.
Last day of eating outside, we had catch of the day …. Seabass which was delicious and service very good
Beyond lovely staff, who were so accommodating! Amazing food and views! We have no faults! Thanks so much!
Great food and great service but was freezing cold and windy. The outside area is nice but it’s like a wind tunnel. My food was cold after the 2nd or 3rd bite. It was great service though and the staff were really great considering how cold they must have been. I think we were just unlucky with the weather. If it had been warmer or less windy it would have made a massive difference
We had a lovely meal but it was very windy and chilly. Service brilliant as always. We just need the sun 🌞
Amazing food & service lovely atmosphere would definitely recommend.
Lovely food and service. We had the seafood platter and it was delicious.
Delicious food in a great setting. Highly recommend.
Great food, worth the money but not expensive. Would definitely eat here again!
First time here but thoroughly enjoyed! Food & Service was great! Look forward to visiting again when we can enjoy inside as the road noise and slightly cold weather was not on our side but that couldn’t be helped.
Lovely food. Great service
Francesco was brilliant
This is the place to go for the best tasting seafood and fish in Brighton, served beautifully.
Sat outside for lunch and the waiter service is very professional with good knowledge of the food and wine with high personal attention.
Sone of the chefs flavours in the food are so unusual, real dining experience that I highly recommend.
We will be back!
A faultless evening, food was spectacular and service was impeccable. Can’t wait to go back!
Great birthday meal on the terrace. Fantastic food and great service. The terrace is a bit noisy with the traffic but that's not the restaurant's fault. I loved it - have been before and will come back again.
We had a lovely afternoon on the Salt Room terrace. The food, service and ambience was excellent as always. All our fish dishes were cooked to perfection. The outside heaters worked wonders on a slightly chilly May afternoon. We look forward to returning very soon!
We loved our lunch at the Salt Room. The food, the service and the ambiance are of a high standard. Our waiter was very knowledgeable and professional. He anticipated our every need and was there when we needed him. The food was so good. I wanted everything on the menu, which rarely happens! We sat out on the terrace and although it was a rainy day we were perfectly warm and comfortable. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Amazing service, awesome food.
