The food is excellent, the drink menu is thoughtful and tasty, the heated outdoor seating on the water is delightful, and our server was very helpful and friendly.
We went out for a friends birthday, made a reservation for 5 outdoor and everything went great. They have a perfect set up of heater outside in a way that you can sit anywhere and still feel the warmth. Service was friendly and attentive. Views are perfect. Highly recommend.’
Love the heaters outside and the beautiful view!
The outside seating area is fantastic. It was such a great experience with my family to sit back have some wine and good food.
Such a great outdoor dining setup. Lots of heaters, tables spaced quite far apart (much more than 6 feet), excellent service. Haven’t found a better place to dine outside. Food excellent — don’t miss the Brussels sprouts and Stuffies.
Great food, great location, great service. Perfect place for a date night out.
Perfect place for outdoor seating and nice ambiance. They have heaters galore, and clear tent like structures to block the wind coming off of the water.
TSL is our go-to while biking in DC. They’ve done a great job with CV19 requirements and continue to offer great food and drinks. Our server, Morgan, was amazing! She has such a great attitude, offered great suggestions and has a great sense of humor! Morgan completed a superb afternoon for us! Thank you Morgan and thanks TSL!
A belated birthday lunch with a friend. Salt Line is well organized. Very nice food, we had the fish sandwich. Great outdoor location, it was a cold day and the heaters were not on (maybe because it was windy) which was a shame
Service was phenomenal and the food is always excellent!
We live in DC and had friends visiting from out of town and wanted to try something around the ballpark. Ordered a Bloody Mary - had one sip and it was not very good (negative) and gave it back to waiter and they credited our bill (positive). Ordered pumpkin soup which came out cold but did not want to send something else back so I ate it without complaining. The beet/burrata salad had a nice portion of burrata but only had 3 tiny slices of beets so I would have really called it just a burrata salad. Our friends said their meal was ok...but I will probably try another restaurant next time I head down to the Navy yards.
Just discovered this place last week and now I’ve been twice. I’m so grateful for the outdoor seating options. The food and drink were terrific - I can recommend the oysters, poached halibut, Brussels sprouts, onion rings. The drinks menu is great too. And we had excellent service to boot.
Good food and excellent service.
Our best dining experience since the "time before." We are very careful these days, and Salt Line made us feel totally comfortable. Our server was excellent, and the food and cocktails were very good. Best of all, it was a lovely afternoon, and we were seated with a great view of the water and the new Douglass bridge. We are looking forward to going back whenever the weather allows.
The food and service were great, the heat lamps made a chillier afternoon for outdoor lunch enjoyable!
Loved the outdoor dining overlooking the water. Great service too!
Always great! Love the food, the wine menu is exciting, and service is always fantastic. Thanks for a great evening :)
Food and service are always good. The staff is always accommodating and excellent.
Thank you Saltline for a perfect Saturday afternoon meal on the patio! Food was amazing (olive oil poached halibut would fit right in at one of DC’s super high-end places), and really great service for us and our pup.
The crab dip was good, as were the oysters, but several of us had the fish sandwich and it totally lacked flavor. Just overall bland, which was disappointing. It looked delicious, but just didn't get it done.
Hard to truly say due to covid and restrictions, but it was a good meal. Lobster roll and fries were good, first beer was room temp but was quickly replaced at no charge. Sat inside near the bar at a makeshift table, but that was fine. In the end, a tad overpriced for what was received.
Nice venue, food good, wine selection lacking.
Amazing service and food. Our server provided recommendations on everything we asked for and made our time there truly enjoyable.
The atmosphere was nice. It was a little cold. The food was pretty good but the service was mediocre. I didn't particularly like my waiter. He made me feel some type of way because I asked him to add cheese to my sandwich... He never once asked if we needed anything, if we liked the food, did we want anything additional. I had to wave him down to get our check. I had planned on getting dessert but he made me lose interest. Every month I make it a point to go to a restaurant I've never experienced. This one, I probably won't come back. Thanks for the memory though
It was great! Three hours later I was sick. Great service though! Would try again.
We came here while visiting from Missouri on our anniversary. We chose this place because we wanted some nice sea food in a nice restaurant and was thoroughly disappointed. Their menu had barely anything on it, we looked at the online menu before we came and chose this restaurant based off of that menu, however, when we got there the menu was maybe 1/4 of what was online. Our bill in total came out to about $100 with a tip and the food was mediocre at best. Save your time and go to the food trucks.
As usual, on point. Never fails. It’s why it’s my “go to” for people who haven’t been to my hood before. Mack delivered impeccable service, and everything was delicious. Best kept secret in DC is their burger. Don’t sleep on it. Exceptional value. Newly added tents and heaters add to the ambience, still feeling like you’re outdoors and safe, as opposed to patios that just feel enclosed and an extension of indoors.
Understand that The Salt Line means it - food was overly salty
Love Salt Line! When they first opened I really felt that their menu was limited but they have done a excellent job keeping menu updated! Only complaint is when they do something I ❤️❤️ and they move on to something different but usually that new item is delicious!
This is great option to dine indoors with ample social distancing a quiet atmosphere.
Family visiting from out of state!
Taking COVID precautions seriously. Food was wonderful as always.
Always wonderful with great covered outdoor seating for a cold rainy day. Heaters are a wonderful touch.
Very accommodating & friendly delicious food fun festive atmosphere
Seafood Tower was delicious! Amy was outstanding in taking care of us. We truly enjoyed everything. Thank you!
Excellent cocktails and food. The poached halibut was outstanding.
Best burger in DC!
Thanks for the visit and review- always nice to hear from another member of the smash burger fan club!
It was our wedding anniversary and I requested a nice table with a view of the river. They only have outside tables but with j n I’ve weather it was good to sit outside. Know it was our anniversary they still put us opposite a large and loud group celebrating a 30th birthday. So much for have some intimacy. For drinks my wife ordered a habanero margarita. They instead used jalapeños and it was very weak I ordered a martini which they served in a cocktail glass. We orders oysters since they promoted that in their marketing and yet had a very limited selection and we tried them all. None were that good. My wife ordered the beef tips for her entree and we sent it back. It wasn’t steak tips as we thought. It was pot roast which was way over cooked and dry. I ordered the crispy rock fish. The fish was “ok” but only about two inches long. For our anniversary they gave us two Whoopi pies. I think they had Ben frozen because they stil very hard and the piece I tried was also very dry. Best I can say is it’s a pub at fine dining prices.
Food was subpar for the pricing. Would not go back for a second time. I would rather settle for Red Lobster.
Superb meal with brilliant service. Busy but the servers worked hard. The heaters mean eating outdoors in the evenings is absolutely fine.
