This is my 7th or 8th trip to the Salt Line. As always, great food and service are the norm. This time, I tried the new Lobster Pot Pie. It was fantastic. It really took comfort food to a new level. I also ordered the baked clams which are probably the best baked clams I have ever had. They also have a great selection of local beers.
Just very underwhelming. The food was mediocre and the options were very limited. Wont be going again.
Was referred here by a coworker and really enjoyed my time to celebrate a birthday. Great oyster selection and the drinks get you just right. I’m sure in the warmer months it’s better being able to sit outside with that incredible view, but the dining room was quaint and sophisticated. And the staff is extremely friendly and suggestive when it comes to the menu. Will be back.
Limited bu excellent menu, well executed, one of our favorite restaurants in DC. Well designed outside and inside seating locations.
Great service and location. Easy reservations. Def check it out!
Had a reservation for 4 outside, but upon request at arrival, were seated inside. Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the Pumpkin soup and will be back to try some more of the menu.
Need more heaters outside, it was SO COLD!!! But otherwise it was so much fun. Great food, drinks, and service!
We can’t say enough great things about the Salt Line, especially the heaters and patio throughout this long pandemic! Outstanding food, service and atmosphere.
Server was great and showed care and patience, myself just didn’t like the drink I ordered but that’s not on them overall I will be back
The food was amazingly good and paired with wine was like heaven!
Food Amazing, view amazing, Service amazing!
Our one Year Anniversary was a Amazing Experience with The Salt Line! My Husband and I had a great time !
It’s a fun atmosphere and great outdoor seating. Lots of heaters and fire tables
Great overall experience food was awesome and so was the service!!!
Great place for outdoor dining. Set-up is awesome, heaters are great and food is terrific. Love Salt Line!
They continue to do one of the best jobs in the city of providing an excellent dining experience during the pandemic that both makes diners feel comfortable and safe and allows enough of an escape to, for a few hours at least, feel like life is almost normal again!
Great dinner, followed Covid guidelines, will go back!
We sat outside on a cold day but stayed toasty thanks to the heaters. Our waiter was delightful. Couldn't love this place more!
Food, Drinks, Service 10/10. Awesome outdoor environment all things considered. Would absolutely be back. Appreciate the excellent experience!!!
Great service and the food was delicious. Will certainly go back.
We had a great meal on Sunday the 24 of January to celebrate a big birthday. We sat outside at a fire pit table and felt isolated and safe and as
Warm as we could be. Our servers and the woman who helped us choose our table were so wonderful and attentive. Couldn’t be better. We had a great time.
The seafood was cooked perfectly
Indoors was loud even with limited seating. But waiter was awesome!!!
Happy the dining room was open again at a favorite eating spot. As always it was first rate: great selection of beers, super burgers (mine), friends made other delicious choices. Cannot wait for warm weather, baseball and a crowded outdoor bar.
Such great people...
Had a great time and the outdoor situation with heaters is one of the best in DC! Cocktails on the menu right now are delicious and oysters were great, as always
I absolutely loved my first visit to the Salt Line. As a fan of fresh oysters, I've plotted on my visit for a while, however, the shutdown of indoor dinner put a pause on my plans to visit. I was so excited to finally get there. The staff was extremely accommodating and helpful. The food was flawless. Will definitely be back!
Being able to dine outside in such cool, yet warm, location makes everything normal for a little while. Big tap of hat to staff who are working SO hard to make everyone welcome
Excellent lunch on the banks of the Anacostia. Half price oysters, delicious lobster roll packed with lobster. Very attentive server.
So great. Great tenting blocking the breeze off the river. Great heaters well placed. Great service from start to finish. Great drinks. Limited wine list (but I didn't ask, so maybe they have more?). All the food was spectacular. Not cheap, but worth it
Our server Cheryl was amazing! She had great suggestions and the timing of service was impeccable! Will definitely be coming back again
Great date night, love their outdoor set up. Fun ambiance (and warm!) yet felt safe with the social distancing and the air circulation. Great menu but didn’t love the rockfish tartare we got and the lobster roll was $28! (Was delicious but should’ve asked what mkt rate was). Friendly attentive staff and fun cocktails, will definitely be back
Salt Line has the best outdoor dining experience in DC. The heaters are phenomenal and you don’t even need to keep your coats on! The ambiance is nice and the staff is very friendly.
Our server (a Black woman) was incredibly rude from the start of service to the end — she didn’t even bother to bring us the check, and never asked how our meal was. We knew it was personal (and we were Black women!) because she had an entirely different attitude toward the two tables next to us, explained the menu in detail, recommended dishes, and checked on them frequently.
Love The Salt Line. Simple but sophisticated menu. It's what you'd expect from a 'fish house' with an attention to new takes on old staples, but done with respect to the original. Quality of food for price is outstanding. Ambiance is great. Much more crowded and rowdy during baseball season, especially in game day, but always fun. Bar nor full of a bunch of drunk bros pounding Busch. Off-season, go as often as you can. Quiet enough for a nice night out for two, loud enough for a party of 6 for a birthday. And don't buy the hype - the best burger is not at that French bistro you can never get a table at - it's the Smash Burger here. Probably the most underrated restaurant in DC.
Great food and great experience. The restaurant is following very strict COVID measures and has plenty of outdoor seating and heaters.
Server was very accommodating. Felt their outside dining was done as safely as possible. Burgers were very good, but lobster rolls were a bit of a disappoint, especially at that day’s market price.
We felt very "Covid Safe" eating out side and properly socially distanced.
Great food! Great Service
Great for outdoor dining now. Heaters and tented but tent not fully enclosed so seems safe. Fun atmosphere.
The pumpkin soup and Parker house rolls were perfect! My partner loved the swordfish entree and fried clam appetizer. The heaters kept us comfortable even on a 35 degree afternoon (sunny). Definitely try it!
