   I went to The Salt Line Sunday brunch with 2 friends. Both the lobster roll and fish sandwich were fantastic. Artic char eggs benedict were delicious too. We had the lobster bisque and would have liked it to be slightly warmer. We finished up with 2 desserts; hands down, the rocky road chocolate mousse, was the clear winner. Come with an appetite because portions are generous.

   Enjoyed a nice brunch at the Salt Line to celebrate finishing the Rock N Roll Half Marathon. The staff were very accommodating as two of our guests were unable to come. The service was attentive, but not overbearing. The food and beverages were quite tasty. Very pleasant dining experience.

   Oysters were awesome, great variety, and very fresh. I usually order the fish sandwich, which has always been good. It’s a fun place in a great area.

    Our server was great. The food was delicious. Oysters were just ok. I thought the clam bellies at $18 was not a good value - but the fisherman’s platter was a great value and really delicious.

    The food and service are always amazing. The location is wonderful. This trip I had the lobster roll and a root vegetable salad made with date puree and yuzu dressing. We shared fried clam bellies for an appetizer. We all enjoyed the food. The noise level is relatively low here. Could also be that I have always been seated in a booth. But a definite thumbs up to this location.

    Outstanding service, Shannon was busy but attentive and gave great input to our questions. The food was great as the previous visit. It is a seafood restaurant so we expected a hefty bill especially since we had cocktails and a bottle of wine but again Shannon recommended a superb wine that was not overpriced- huge wine there. Highly recommend… this is why Salt Line is one of our very favorites in all of DC.

    My husband and I got there early before they opened. It was raining outside and they generously let us sit in it if the rain even though they weren’t open yet! From the moment we entered, until the moment that we left, everyone was gracious and professional. Great fast service, delicious food, and we would definitely go back!

    We went for Valentine’s Day and upon arrival found out they were operating off of a Valentine’s Day special menu. The menu was a “pre fixe” menu and cost $75. In quick summary, appetizers: raw scallops were horrible and oysters were good but few in count, entrees: lobster tail was tough and no complaints with short rib, dessert: mousse was amazing and the highlight of the meal while the upside down pineapple cake tasted old and soured. The service was good, ambiance was nice, and location was fun, but the food was absolutely horrible. It hurts spending $200 (after tip) on food you’d rather not eat and going home hungry.

    My friend and I were craving oysters and very much looking forward to this dinner. I will say that we are not oyster experts, but we love oysters and were disappointed with what we got. They felt like they needed more flavor or brine. The shells got every where and we didn’t enjoy the taste of shell over the tasteless oysters. Maybe we chose the wrong oysters but we’ve liked others in the city more. The service was slow but they were very busy and I have a lot of sympathy for servers, I just would have liked them to stop by at all. They didn’t stop by for me to ask which oysters were which or for more sauces. We also got the clam chowder and bread rolls which were delicious and the ambiance was lovely. I highly recommend the clam chowder it saved the meal! I’d love to give this place another try on a less busy night and will definitely take recommendations for oysters next time as we picked off the menu rather blindly.

    I’m a big fan of Saltline. I think it’s a great establishment. However, a couple of friends and I went for Restaurant Week. It was not a pleasant experience as far as the food choices. They were out of the lobster roll, the broiled cod, and the chocolate dessert. It was unfortunate. The bright spot was our server. She did an absolutely wonderful job. Her attitude made the food situation bearable.

    It was our first time in this part of town and we loved it. The restaurant has a fun ambiance. The food was delicious. You must try the Brussel sprouts. They are to die for. The "stuffies" (stuffed baked clams) were really delicious too. My husband had the fish sandwich and it was very tasty. I can't wait to visit in the summer when their outdoor patio is open. It looks like a fun spot and the views are amazing. Highly recommend.

    After a day of sight seeing in Washington, DC, this restaurant’s location was nearby. Every dish was delicious, drinks from the bar were good, service was great, and food was served quickly despite a busy weekend dinner service. It’s clearly a local favorite spot. When the weather is warmer, we’ll be back to check out their outdoor bar/restaurant overlooking the Potomac River/Chesapeake Bay.
