The Salt Line, the popular DC homage to New England’s iconic fish and oyster houses, brings a third location to Bethesda Row. New England meets the Chesapeake at this beauty of a restaurant with lots of comfy booth seating and an inviting u shaped bar and lounge area. Menu features all the classics and raw bar guests have come to love from the original The Salt Line plus some delicious new surprises from award winning The Salt Line Chef Kyle Bailey.

We have eaten here on several occasions and this one disappointed. The good: fried clams, service ambiance and manager involvement. The bad: the Cioppino was so spicy we found it inedible, the pasta with clams were good but also over spiced and the sauce a little gloopy. They DID take the Cioppino off the bill. Hats off to the server and manager. With so many spots in Bethesda it will be a while till we get back.

Very enjoyable meal. We ate on the patio under the shade of trees. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly, efficient and helpful. We will return here!

Lovely setting, an oasis easy to get to but insulated from the busy street. A terrific menu of seafood. The fried catfish sandwich was perfect; and the roast asparagus was maybe the best I’ve ever had in the US. Severs are attentive and very sweet and friendly. A great lunch spot when you have visitors or anyone who wants a special treat.
