Service was great. Some of the food was great and worth 5 stars but some was more like 2-3 stars
Food was good but service was very slow. It took a while for them to come and give water and we had empty glasses at least 2 times.
Had not been back to The Rutledge for a couple of years due to the pandemic. The experience was not as good as it had been in the past. Service was okay, if a little slow. We ordered shrimp and avocado salads and one guest had soup. The salads had plenty of shrimp but only half an avocado. The soup was lukewarm. It took about 20 minutes from order to serving which seemed long given what we ordered. All in all not what the experience had been in the past at The Rutledge.
Very slow service. Drink and food delivery times were extensive and the restaurant was not busy. I assume understaffed.
My boyfriend & I have been here twice (once for dinner and this last time for brunch) and have had great experiences! Our waiter, Austin, was super helpful on delicious recommendations. My personal favorites so far are the pressed sushi, tuna tar tar, and The Sapphire Cocktail! We can’t wait to come back. :)
This is the third time we have dined at the Rutledge. Food came out cold unfortunately. Our server Chris was rude and more interested in the football game. We will not return due to the terrible customer service. Manager came and was very friendly. The front line server could of cared less about me and my family.
Always a good experience. Service was excellent. A varied selection. Our dinner was prepared just right.
One of my most favorite dining spots in Williamson County! We love the inventiveness of the menu, they always-cordial service and the yummy cocktails. The food quality is always first-rate. Keeps us coming back again and again!
Lucas served us he did a great job food flavor was excellent I had the rotisserie chicken my husband had the filet
Very relaxing and it was not very crowded so we very much enjoyed the ambulance. Good service and very good food.
We've dined at The Rutledge many times and the food is always consistent. The salmon was exceptionally delicious. I appreciate that I can sample a wine.
Fun atmosphere! Food and service outstanding! A little loud but the food outweighed that!
We can always count on The Rutledge to be an enjoyable experience. This was no exception. Chris is terrific - bright, witty, and engaging. He was very attentive and the food was delicious. Their Brussels sprouts are among the best I’ve had - and great presentation, too. Great prime rib. Their lobster bisque is fantastic and the sushi rolls are very good, too. Great atmosphere. You can tell that the team here really enjoys working together. Great neighborhood gem.
Too loud for business meal, very hard to hear. Service was rushed, bill dropped off without offer of coffee or dessert.
Food was very good. I would return, but more for social experience.
Great place for a business meal or a date night. Highly recommend!
Brought family for fun & ambisnce
It was one of the Best! Everyone was amazing and the food was great!
We go to the Rutledge frequently for Sunday brunch. Everyone can find something to eat from the most picky to the most sophisticated. I highly recommend The Rutledge.
We traveled there for a birthday dinner and paid extra per person for a Halloween themed "something" that was not as described. Which in the end they never asked for anyone's ticket so it was a ripoff. The staff was dressed in Halloween costumes as expected. Some were very distasteful.
The waiter seemed to be brand new because he couldn't answer many questions but had worked there for two years. We were unsure if he was the water guy or the waiter and we finally asked if we could order food. When it came it was not accurate and we were charged for side orders that came with the meal. The food had no flavor and left half of my meal uneaten. Overall I felt very odd and dissatisfied when I left. This is no comparison to The Rutledge in Nashville.
The service was awakward along with the food. All of the food was bland and boring. The place is extremely overpriced for what you are getting. There are many other restaurants that are better, cheaper, and do not feel stuffy. Rutledge is trying to be something that it is not.
This has been the best Birthday surprise so far. The restaurant went out of it’s way to make my day special. The server was so sweet, I was trying not tear up 🖤❤️❤️🙏
We got in earlier than our reservation. Server was nice and we got our food super quick.
Wonderful dinner! Loved the food and atmosphere. Will definitely be back to try more!!
Great service. Not rushed. Solid food and pleasant atmosphere.
The food as always was exceptional, great flavors and service!
A true gem! And let me tell ya…this place has one of THE best burgers I’ve ever had. Do yourself a favor and add the bacon and a side of brussels. Thank me later!
One of our favorites in Franklin. Consistently good!
Stylish restaurant in the fancy south Nashville suburb of Franklin. It was a Monday evening, so the place was very sparsly attended. Extensive bar with an excellent cocktail menu. Destiny was our server- she and her assistants were excellent. Reason wait time for ordering, getting our cocktails, then our meal. I had the Lobsters and Cheese, which was presented in an adult manner. My companion s had the Scottish Salmons and the half chicken, they were very good. My side was the Brussels Sprouts, which in most cases I love, but this was prepared in a way I wasn't expecting, with some kind of sweet saurce- honey, perhaps. I prefer them nicely burnt with the olives oil and salt. Companions reported their cornbreads good, and asparigi salty, which i say bring it on. Only very slight knock is the price of the entrees. But will happily return when passing through TN again.
The Rutledge is a great place for lunch as I’ve been many times; however, the entire place from the manager to the waitstaff seemed overwhelmed with a Saturday 7 PM dinner service. Also, I assume there is a reason restaurants ask if you’re celebrating something special because they plan on trying to make it a bit more special. We were celebrating my son becoming a teenager and of course he selected the restaurant because of their AHI tuna which didn’t seem to have the same attention to detail as it did when he first had it at lunch. There was nothing done to make it special for him nor did they even acknowledge it was his birthday even after we informed them via our reservation notes as well as when seated at the table. To cap it off, my wife had the Thai filet and noodle salad where the steak came out cold. We informed the manager and they replaced the salad asking if the presentation was better now which had nothing to do with the actual issue. Odd comment. We’ll see you for lunch again and will be sure to dine in the bar with bartender Trenton taking care of us again…his service is impeccable.
Good food and diverse menu. Loved the Shashito Peppers!
We ate here for the first time on 10/11/21. We had a reservation, but the place was almost empty. They seated us directly next to the kitchen while other premium areas were unseated. It was noisy in the kitchen throughout dinner. The service was closer to fast-casual than sit down dining, as the waiter rarely attends, and when he does the trip is consolidated and rushed (ie serving appetizers at the same time as entrees, etc). The food was fantastic. We enjoyed the steak roll appetizer, a strawberry salad, and the entree Cesar salad. I really think this would be a cool place if they offered a nicer sit down dining experience.
Service was so slow, it looked as though one person was serving the entire restaurant and she was neither pleased to have a job or very efficient
For a "Fine Dining" restuarant, it's good, could have been great. The food is good - and my wife and I had apps, soup, salads and entrees with a couple of extra sides. The lobster bisque would have been much better without crushed croutons and actually eating the charred corn on the cob was almost unmanageable...but good.
We had drinks to start off and then switched to wine before entrees came out BUT didn't get our wine until we were finished with our entrees and ready for boxes and the check. (The closest table to us had a food quality issue and that seemed to throw the entire operation out of sync and the service to everyone else around suffered greatly.)
Overall, it was a good experience but not one that makes you want to return or make it your go to choice. Understanding that "stuff happens", it's still hard to enthusiastically recommend. We might dine there again...but, for us, not before trying out many other places first. There are a lot of upscale restaurants in Franklin and Nashville to choose from. The overall customer experience is everything. Food, Ambience, Service and Price must combine and deliver.
We were quite disappointed in the quality of the food, the prime rib was quite bland and tough. My son got the lobster macaroni and a side of asparagus. Both were cold, and had to be returned. My meatball pasta marinara was truly a child’s size pasta dish with a single meatball cut into 4th’s for $20. We won’t be back.
The location and building itself was very nice. The lighting was a brighter than an expected. Food and service was good.
Service extremely slow (10 minutes before anyone made an appearance at our table). The place was not full. Overall food was bland. One guest said aloud that he was looking at the beer menu and the server waited for his order and when he requested a beer on tap, the server told him all the taps were down. Might mention that first next time, my friend. Someone asked for the seasonal pasta and was told they didn’t have one right now. Again, good to know before spending time on the menu. We had to flag the server down several times for water and other table needs. No offer of dessert menu or coffee. Charged $5 for ‘bread service’ - a small, average piece of bread. Nothing special about it given it was a charged item. Won’t be back.
In town for the weekend for a wedding and decided to give The Rutledge a try after searching for places on Open Table. We were not disappointed. Food was very good and the service was great. The restaurant was loud but not to the point it where it was a distraction. We probably will not be back to Franklin but if we did I would go back to The Rutledge.
The food quality & flavor was absolutely terrible. We ordered the salmon & chicken alfredo was the seasonal pasta. Tasted like lean cousine quality. Cocktails weren’t good either. They are trying to be a nice restaurant without nice restaurant quality food. We won’t be back.
Brussel sprouts were cold. The old-fashioned was great.
Beautiful setting , our server was amazing, great experience.
