I recently had the pleasure of dining at Rutledge’s in downtown Nashville, and I can confidently say it was an amazing experience! The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the steak – it was the best I’ve ever had. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor, it truly set the standard for what a great meal should be. Our server, Steve, added to the delightful experience. He had a remarkable resemblance to Chris Farley, which brought a fun and lively energy to our table. His attentive service and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home. Overall, Rutledge’s exceeded my expectations, and I can’t recommend it highly enough. If you're in Nashville, make sure to stop by for an unforgettable dining experience! With out a doubt am always going to come here every time I come to Nashville and ask for Steve-o! Especially if you want the best!

Five of us went to dinner before the Coldplay concert and we picked The Rutledge due to its proximity to the pedestrian bridge. It did not disappoint! Our server Steve was amazing , personable asked our names and remembered them the whole time we were there! He even told us about the elevator in the restaurant that took us straight up to the bridge so we avoided the crowds queuing to walk up it! Owner Mason Revelette also stopped by our table! We will definitely be back before an event downtown again!

⭐☆☆☆☆ – Disappointed on My Birthday This was my third time dining at this restaurant, and sadly, it was the worst experience I’ve had yet—on my birthday, no less. My previous two visits were fantastic, which made this experience all the more disappointing. Our server, Ashlie (I believe that was her name), seemed disengaged from the start. We waited an unusually long time just to get our appetizer, and there was hardly any acknowledgment that we were celebrating a birthday—something we expected would at least be met with a kind word or gesture. The biggest issue came with my husband’s entrée. He ordered an uncut steak and was served one that was grilled and entirely too rare. When we let the server know, she made no attempt to fix the situation, offer an apology, or even check back in. The steak went completely uneaten, and we ended up throwing away a $46 meal. As if that wasn’t enough, when our entrées came out, no one cleared the appetizer plates, so we had to move things around ourselves to make space. The lack of attention to detail and basic hospitality was very frustrating. To top it all off, the server pre-added a 20% gratuity to our bill—something I’ve never experienced here before. It honestly felt like she knew the service was subpar and wanted to ensure she still got tipped. We typically tip above 20% for great service, but in this case, it felt completely undeserved. I was really hoping for a special birthday dinner and instead walked away disappointed and frustrated. After such a great impression the first two times, this experience has made me think twice about coming back.

This was one of the best dining experiences I've had in a couple of years! Steve was our waiter. His menu knowledge was spot on, he was very personable, and very professional! It was an overall great experience!

Lobster was smothered with some variation of sweetened thousand island salad dressing and was served on soggy toast cooked on one side only . This was supposed to be crostini! We asked for sparkling water, got regular, we wanted wine with dinner but we were ignored and no one came to ask how the appetizers were. They brought out all food super fast and never even had the table cleaned off. The steak was a high light. It was cooked and spiced perfectly, potatoe was reheated and not well. Maître de was very professional. Not sure if this is a new restaurant or not but wait staff need training. The red headed guy serving tables was very competent and he should be the waiter. Overall, this place could be a nice restaurant but it needs a manager who is competent and would watch food as it comes out, not just stand around, not reacting to anything! Big savings getting rid of him and his suit.

We were never asked if we wanted another drink. The bartender was very nice but he seemed preoccupied with cleaning duties outside the bar. We would have ordered additional drinks had we been asked. The food was ok. I didn’t quite understand all of the additional taxes (ie. Hospitality). It was ok for dinner but the atmosphere seemed too quiet and dead.
