The Rozel Pub & Dining
Has deservedly earnt the reputation for the best roast beef Sunday lunch in Jersey.
Such a superb setting, we never have a bad meal here
Great food and service... very warm though In the restaurant
Great food , excellent service, very relaxed atmosphere and booked another lunch for a party of 14 before we left!
We only ordered mains and they took just over an hour! Waitress waited till we were ordering to tell us what they had run out of. Drinks order was forgotten. Childrens portion was embarrassingly small. Overall a horrendous experience..one of my worst in nearly 20 years of dining in Jersey.
We loved the food, but the ambience wasn't what we expected possibly due to us eating early. We found the restaurant chilly. The waitress was excellent and was great with our grandson, who didn't want to eat. Our only complaint was the kids food, it was too fancy for our 5 year old. We also found it expensive for pub food, but that said it was fantastic, we would recommend to friends and will come back again.
Unfortunately a large party was the only spoiler for us - otherwise the meal was faultless.
As usual, brilliant! Consistently great. Thank you guys.
Lovely cosy setting, food was great and staff very attentive would definitely go back
Excellent meal, loved it! Service a bit slow but very friendly and managed well in more difficult conditions than usual as there was a function upstairs in the restaurant. Look forward to going back.
The surroundings were lovely but the food was average and the service was basic and certainly not as friendly as other restaurants we has visited on the island of Jersey. We had high expectations based on a visit we had made before to Chateau le Chaire as we understood the two were connected. However this was disappointing and as a result we do not feel we could recommend this restaurant
Lovely as usual but background music was too loud.
Lovely decor in the pub in a very nice area. Food was nice enough, however I had slightly higher hopes after hearing it had been done up. Service was fine, although the mains took nearly an hour to arrive. Would probably return if our that side of the island however wouldn’t go out of my way. Overall it was an okay experience.
Really enjoy the Rozel Pub. Easy place to chat as noise level is low. Thank you
Really enjoyed the food but disappointed that it was not the menu on the website
Fabulous tasty food all homemade....well worth a visit. A little bit pricey but for a special occasion or if you just want good food definitely worth it.
Always good food and good service. Stands out in Jersey as a proper pub serving great food
Last minute booking for 3. We had an excellent meal in the new dining room area. Service was efficient and friendly.
Lovely ambiance and nice food. The homemade cheesecake was splendid.
The service was impeccable and the food even better. Absolutely would love to go again.
There is a relaxed atmosphere in the dining room and the staff were all friendly and helpful. All the food was excellent and special mention for the fish and chips.
Great pub in a beautiful setting. Excellent food, best crab sandwich I have ever eaten! We sat at the top in the garden, which was lovely and shady. This was our second visit and will definitely be back next time we're on the island.
I was really looking forward to eating here after checking out the online menu and seeing the Michelin guide recommendation. However we were incredibly disappointed. We were persuaded to sit in the bar, because the restaurant was ‘apparently’ very noisy, it seemed almost empty, so we felt like it was just easier for you. The menu was not what we had seen and were looking forward to, and compared to what we saw online was very limited, particularly the children’s menu, with no starters offered and only 3 choices of sausage, burger or fish! The pint of prawns were a mug of prawns, and having to peel that many very small size prawns was not enjoyable, they were covered in eggs and there was no water or wipe offered to clean our hands, I ended up covering myself in prawn bits which was disgusting and completely off putting, it was not worth the effort. The main course portions were quite small, I had pasta that was very mediocre and bland. 2 of my party had the curry which was watery and tasteless. I don’t mind paying for good food, and it is our occasional treat from working very hard and financially struggling, but feel what we had was overpriced and extremely disappointing. Such a shame as we had great expectations and brought family that were visiting the island, there are so many great places to eat, and we had hoped Rozel would be one of them, however afterward we wished we had gone elsewhere. I work in a busy and popular Jersey restaurant, and feel disheartened at the occasional negative review we receive, we try to put things right with our feedback. After visiting Rozel I checked out some of the reviews, I was dismayed to see so many negative ones, many saying the same thing as I myself experienced during our visit, yet the same things seem to continue being repeated and clearly not made any better. Maybe you don’t take your guests feedback into account and try to improve on so many peoples negative opinions. Overall it was a poor experience.
Relaxed dining in a great location. One of Jerseys hidden gems. Excellent real ales and superb food. Well worth a visit
Nice food friendly/ helpful staff top Mark's to every one will be back
Pint of prawns was more like half pint, and in a reasonable quantity establishment i would not have expected cheap frozen shell on prawns when fresh are readily available
A cosy pub downstairs with an attractive open restaurant upstairs. Great food with generous portions, all set in the pretty seaside village of Rozel. Well worth a visit.
We were expecting wonderful things but sadly disappointed. Having arrived we were offered to eat in the pub which was hot and noisy as the restaurant had no one in there. We declined and was taken to a spacious area upstairs. The service was slow and we had to ask for tap water. A small bottle was given and when we asked for another not provided. The menu was limited and the food disappointing. I felt that the cost was high given the food and I would not go nack there again. For the first time in roughly three years I did not leave a tip. I was sad as the location looked amazing and we had just completed a 5 mile waslk and was so looking forward to eating there.
The service was slow and we like hot plates. Think waiter needs to write orders so he’s more accurate.
Great location but food average at best and service poor.
We go here regularly. Consistently good. Best gastro pub on the island.
Hoping this was just a one off but the food wasn’t pleasant at all. Had a pint of tiny prawns that I had to peel myself, and the burger I ordered was rock solid and dry, like it had been cooked the night before and warmed up under a lightbulb. Staff are lovely and restaurant is beautiful.
My husband and I really enjoyed a lovely Saturday lunch... took my mother in law and she really enjoyed her lunch... my husband said his burger was one of the best burgers he’s had in ages
Limited lunch menu on offer in Winter but still has daily specials and enough choices for most. Quality and deliciousness same high standard as always.
We had a lovely family meal where we all enjoyed our choices. The staff was very attentive and helpful.
Excellent pace to go eat for lunch or dinner for any occasion really. We love it here.
Great local pub for food or drinks, with super friendly service
A wonderful venue for Sunday Lunch, beautiful drive, beautiful food in a beautiful setting. Will come back!
An excellent lunch marred only by the slow service
