Came for our 5 year anniversary; food was delicious. We will definitely be coming back very soon. My husband had the Snapper and loved it! I had the Creole Shrimp Rigatoni…spicy just the way I like it and delicious!
This was my first visit to The Royce. I thought it was a good value, the food was good. The only complaint…we ordered off of the Restaurant Week Menu and the hostess brought a hot dessert with ice cream on it before we were finished with our main meal. As a result the ice cream melted and the dessert became soggy and not desirable.
Sadly, we were seated next to a window and the bugs were horrible. We asked to move seats and the staff was very gracious about it. While the number of bugs and flies was lessened, they were still hovering around our food.
I had seen mixed review for The Royce ahead of visiting - so I counted myself lucky that my experience was not in any extreme good or bad. It was quite busy and it took our server a bit of time to get our orders and check on us, he also wasn't familiar with their wine list. Our appetizers and entrees came out at the same time - not ideal but not the end of the world. The food was fine, I ordered from the restaurant week menu and got the deviled eggs (nothing out of the ordinary), roasted chicken (hefty piece of chicken, beans were really good, mashed potatoes were lumpy and luke warm), and the peach cobbler with ice cream (was more peach than cobbler - just had a thin layer of crust on the top). All in all - my experience was OK, but leaves a lot to be desired if you're looking to be wowed about anything.
Loved the food, ambiance and experience.
Great experience as usual. We came to celebrate my sister’s birthday. We were greeted with a smile at the door. All of the staff was polite and professional. Our waitress did an excellent job. She was knowledgeable about the menu, shared chef recommendations and her favorites. The food tasted amazing. Hopefully the snapper will join the sea bass as a regular menu item. Again, we had a great time and will return again soon!
Food was actually good. It took 35 minutes to get our drink and another 45 to get it food. The table beside us (4 people) ordered before us and didn’t get their salad until we were done with our entire meal. Another missed opportunity during restaurant week to show what there about. GROSSLY understaffed. Had only large take out containers. Terribly unprepared for us and it’s a shame. I may go back because I edited the food but it won’t be during a busy time
Very slow service. Food was OK, but not good enough for a return visit. Noise level was deafening! Will not return. My chicken was ok, but not good enough for a repeat. VERY small half chicken with lot of dark meat.
LOVED the food!
Horrible service, mediocre food. Upon arrival they should disclose they are short staffed so customers can decide if they want to dine there. Will never return to this restaurant based on how they treat their customers.
Great experience all around. Will definitely be back.
Terrible service. Food was decent, but probably won’t come again after the experience.
The food and service was excellent. The roasted chicken is a new favorite.
Every time I have gone the food and service has been great. This is truly one of the best restaurants in town.
Amazing! Great service and food. Our second time here and we will be back!
Scallop dinner was a large portion and very good. Shrimp rigatoni a little spicy but also very good. Shrimp were huge! We sat on the covered patio which was nice but loud! Our waitress was attentive when at our table but busy so drinks and food came out slowly. Overall very good and we'll return.
Great food and service w/ a fresh take on a nice variety of menu items. (Our server in the bar was very busy the last time we went so service was a little slower than usual. ) The owner cares enough to stop by your table to thank you for coming in. I think this restaurant is an excellent addition to the Polaris area! We’ve tried several appetizers and main courses, and all of it was tasty! 👍🏻👍🏻
I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Nice restaurant , I had the chicken pot pie. It was great
This was our first visit to The Royce, and it was a standout because of the service. Both our waiter and the man who appeared to be the manager or owner were friendly and welcoming. The food was great, although it took 45 minutes to arrive. And it was nice to sit on their open air porch--although it was VERY loud at times. We were there for brunch, and I enjoyed my BLT+E(gg) very much. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.
First time at The Royce and had an overall great experience. Started a little disappointed they couldn't accommodate our party of 9 to sit together even with a voicemail and email ahead of time. However we were sat near so it was ok. Beyond that every thing else was great. Our server Gauthier was friendly, attentive, and amenable. The food was great, big recommendation for the biscuit appetizer and the cinnamon bread for dessert. Everyone enjoyed their entrees too. Great ambiance and atmosphere inside.
Super experience- first time & we will definitely return
Very classy restaurant with excellent food and great selection. Environment is electric. Can come here for any occasion!
Excellent in every way. Brunch was amazing from the start—our party of 6 had mimosas, cornbread biscuits, omelets, bennies, chicken pot pie, and French toast. Service was outstanding and we left very full and very happy. 😊
My meal took almost 2 hours for me to receive
Kitchen was either way understaffed or flooded with orders.
Earlier in the day, I had left a message. I never got a return call. They made a big deal that we had 90 minutes to eat. Well, our reservation was at 7:30. Got sat at 8. Numerous people asked our names to check in. They were clueless! They would mark us off, we thought, and then someone would ask again, and again.Took forever to get our drinks and appetizers. The waitress brought the drinks out 2 at a time rather than on a tray. The appetizers were good. By 9:45p, we had not received our entrees. The entrees were 3 salads and the 4th a portobello sandwich. We finally had to leave. We eat out a lot. Can’t say we’ve ever experienced this before.
Beautiful, energetic restaurant. Fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, way too many problems to actually enjoy it. Maybe just a bad night for wait staff and cooks. We were seated at 7pm, probably didn't order until 8pm, and didn't get our meal until 9:30pm.
The food was not very good, way too much garlic in one dish, and the others short on flavor (even the waiter-recommended chicken dish).
In all, we had high expectations but left very disappointed.
Fantastic first time dining at The Royce. Started with the drop biscuit appetizer. Delicious! Everything we ordered was fantastic and flavorful… pork tenderloin, shrimp blt and kids cheeseburger. Husband had a fun cocktail which he said was very good. All of the employees we spoke to were friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.
Very pleasant experience. Great, casual ambiance
Waited over 25 minutes for drinks to come out. Dining manager walked the entire room and was very selective on the clientele he’d address. Our reservation was at 6:30 and we didn’t leave until after 9 because the service was incredibly slow. In those 3 hours, the dining manager never once came and addressed us to ask how we’re doing, if we needed drinks, apologize for the slow service, etc. I was very surprised and disappointed. The food was not memorable but the lack of attention to our dining experience was.
If it’s summer months ensure you ask for indoor seating. We were not asked a preference, and were seated outdoors. We were served our appetizers and then requested take out. We were not able to complete our meal due to the amount of flies.
They were not able to accommodate our request for indoor seating. The food was wonderful, unfortunately cold by the time we arrived back home to eat. Wonderful ambiance and could have been an enjoyable evening out
The food was delicious, the service was fair. The waiter was very slow, and not attentive.
When I saw the menu options I had high hopes - it sounded like a great option for a late afternoon lunch with my wife. We had the Pork Bellies (overcooked), Deviled Eggs (obviously with Cayenne which was cool - but nothing impressive), Philly Egg Rolls (nothing impressive), Salad (it was fine).
I had gone in planning to order the Sea Bass - but since nothing else was really up to par - I didn't want to spend that much money when Sea Bass is not easy to prepare properly. Instead we got the Chicken Pot Pie - again, nothing impressive.
We should have just called the meal over - but instead we ordered the Cinnamon Pull-Apart Bread. It was served warm with ice-cream. It was pretty good.
Not sure that my dissatisfaction is coming through - but for that kind of money at a trendy upscale restaurant, I was expecting something along the lines of a Coopers Hawk.
My scallops were good. Music was good. Service was not great… my guest didn’t eat much of her food (pork tenderloin)server never asked her how it was…nor if she wanted another drink as she sat with an empty glass. Flies kept flying near us that we had to shoo away. We ended up having to go to Mitchell’s so she could get something else to eat.
I try to go and support the Thursday night live music, often! I try to continue to support this restaurant because it is lack owned. But my food has NEVER been consistently good. It’s so disappointing when on top of your food not being good, your server seems to be rushing you or just in a rush to get away. Can’t say I’ll be back soon
My family and I love The Royce. Such exquisite food and friendly staff not to mention the elegant atmosphere that set the mood. Great service in a timely manner, overall you will enjoy yourself.
We had the biscuits, cauliflower, risotto and sea bass. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted great. Some new mixtures of flavors in the cauliflower delightfully surprised.
We had an enjoyable dinner. The servers were very professional and the service, food and atmosphere was superb
It was very first time there for my birthday and everything was AMAZING
Everything was incredible - the food, drinks, staff 10/10. Our server KeKe had wonderful recommendations. Walter, the owner, was attentive and wonderful. I was so impressed that I booked my birthday celebration for a few weeks from now. This is my new favorite spot!
