Great food, great service. Waitress was very attentive. We went early so parking wasn’t a problem but later I hear parking could be a problem since it’s in downtown mobile.

We had a party of 5 and not a morsel of food or drink were left once we finished dining. For the main course we devoured the catch of the day with goat cheese couscous and asparagus, Seafood gumbo, crab cakes and pork belly. Dessert was phenomenal (their bread pudding is to die for!!) As for cocktails, The Royal Scam makes the only espresso martini worth a hoot in all of Mobile! I Always leave satisfied and pleased after dining here. The service and overall ambience are also exceptional here. One of the best restaurants in Mobile IMO

One of our favorite places. Tuna tartar for appetizer is awesome. My husband had the Land and Sea and I had the Grouper. Both of our meals were excellent. And to top off all of the goodness, the bread pudding was to die for.

The award winning gumbo was not, to us, I figure to someone/some others it was... The fried shilrimp battered and covered with wasabi rice cakes was interesting, the ginger soy sauce was the star of that dish. Beef short ribs dish was tasty, tender, polenta texture and flavornwere in ooints with the sauce on the short rib being a bit thick and had very low viscosity, so it looked staged. The fish was cooked beautifully, beautiful sear with golden color, sauce had low viscosity too, looked staged. Goat cheese Israeli cous cous was so delicious, well done. Cous cous was a bit overcooked. Overall , good meal.

This was our second time here, and the food is delicious. We ate light having salads, crab cakes and gumbo and were not disappointed. The star was dessert and the bread pudding. It’s the best I have ever eaten, and I’m not even a big fan of bread pudding! Very attentive staff, and our only downside was the party of twelve who came in before we were finished. It really upped the noise level. It wouldn’t deter us from a return visit if we are in the area though!

Was a wonderful evening and meal. Excellent young lady took great care of us. We had the gumbo and tuna appetizers. Then both of us had the grouper special. All was Soooooooo very good. All came out on a timely basis, and all was served at the correct temperature. We look forward to returning soon. They earned a 5 star in all aspects.

The food was delicious, all be it very expensive, which wasn’t unexpected, and our waitress was wonderful. The dining tables for 2 people are quite small. There were several tables open that seated 4 people but the hostess said those were already taken by people who had made reservations for them, However, most of them were open and not taken the entire 2 hours we were there dining. I would recommend the restaurant but if it’s important to you, you might want to make a request for a larger table when making reservations to see if they allow those requests. They do have an area they call their courtyard but I thought it would be too cold. Apparently, they have the ability to enclose it during inclement weather and have heaters. But we weren’t told that - just that they had availability in the courtyard. Overall it was a good dining experience and I would return.

The Royal Scam was a wonderful dining experience - from the hum of happy diners to our server who was hospitable, friendly, informative and efficient. We felt we were in good hands all evening. The Gumbo was the best I've ever had, and we opted for a variety of small dishes to share, all absolutely delicious and well prepared. The Royal Scam was our absolute favorite restaurant, hands down, during a four day trip with my mom. We can't wait to return!

Absolutely phenomenal! We had a large group, but being as we were ok to break up into smaller groups, we each made separate reservations that all came at once, and the staff handled us beautifully. I was actually amazed how fantastic the wait staff was and how smoothly our food was executed. Truly amazing. Since part of our group was a middle school dance team, they were extra patient of us, and respected we were an out-of-town dance team. Our food was outstanding and the wine was perfect. If I had one recommendation, it would be to have another kids option besides chicken and fries, maybe beef sliders or popcorn shrimp. Otherwise, perfection.

Everything was excellent. Service was great. We loved our appetizer, tuna tartare. And for our main course we had the chefs special Hibiscus glazed Halibut, fabulous. And the chicken was delicious too. And OMG the chocolate crème brûlée was to die for.
