Solanche, Richard, and the team at The Royal Oak are proud to offer Michelin-starred dining at our village pub, between Shipston on Stour and Stratford upon Avon, on the edge of the Cotswolds. Since 2019, we’ve been dedicated to exceptional food in a community-focused setting.

Alongside our Michelin-starred dining room, we have a relaxed bar with a pool table and darts, creating a space for everyone. Our menu celebrates terroir-driven, ‘proper country food,’ focusing on wild, seasonal ingredients. Our aim is simple: to tell the story of our community and the local producers we work with.

The menu changes with the seasons, with some dishes lasting six weeks to highlight the peak of their season, while others may be available for just a week or even a single service—a fleeting, micro-seasonal snapshot. This approach supports sustainable land and woodland management, honours the natural balance of the land, and reflects our commitment to preserving it for future generations.

A perfect evening, from arrival untill we left everything was perfect, the service and the food were outstanding, and it felt like a really personal experience, I cannot find any fault or criticism at all, this place is an absolute gem, we will be back

First Michelin experience and what a fantastic experience it was. Taste, texture, presentation, colour and detail would all relate to the food. The chef was so friendly and explained his dishes very well. The crockery and cutlery were unusual and very interesting. The team were friendly, attentive, helpful, knowledgeable and obviously a team. The room was light and airy with a good ambience. Everything was thought out carefully to enhance the relaxed but classy experience.

Excellent. Service efficient and friendly. Food beautifully cooked and presented, some imaginative dishes but not overly fussy. Perhaps dessert could have had more flavour.

Splendid venue and fantastic cuisine - shame it was a little quiet at lunchtime - maybe we will go back in the evening. The food was delicious as was the wine(s) and an excellent beer (Windrush) to boot - overall a really nice dining experience & wonderful staff

Fabulous people. Tasting menu had fabulous individual dishes but they did not really flow together. Everything was beautifully made and presented and price was good. Wine chosen by glass as both driving but "glass" rather small. Overall super nice kind people but tasting menu needs more thought.
