Food was good and an attractive menu. Service very friendly and welcoming. However, there was a long wait for the food which didn't appear to be justified by the number of people dining that night, and the music was unecessarily loud and not appropriate for the audience.

You may have noticed on the menu that all our food is cooked fresh to order, so there can sometimes be a little wait while we prepare everything with love and care. We always aim to make it worth the wait! We’re also currently going through a bit of a reorganisation, which you might have seen mentioned around the venue. That means we’re a bit short on staff at the moment while we work on building up a fantastic team of the right people. We really appreciate your patience during this time. I visited the Royal Oak with my family in May '25 to celebrate a birthday. The atmosphere was relaxed and peaceful, with gorgeous surroundings and very charming. Our hostess showed us to our table and gave us plenty of time to choose from the menu without keeping us waiting unnecessarily. The service throughout was efficient and friendly. The menu is nicely varied, with a subtle twist on traditional pub grub, and priced perfectly. My son and I had the sirloin steak which was cooked to perfection, and the rest of our party had the cider battered haddock which they enjoyed very much. The ambience is perfect, the beer garden is spacious and well appointed, and the location is excellent. Very highly recommended, whether for a date, a meal with friends or family, or a special occassion. I wouldn't hesitate to return, and will definitely be doing so,

Delicious food and great presentation in this lovely, friendly pub. The risotto was amazing, good sized quality cheese burgers, and a good choice of puddings.

Absolutely fantastic place to eat salt and pepper squid is amazing and as for the roast beef just melt in the mouth. I ask for rare and I got it,so tender and very tasty.

Good place to have an intimate meal or a group. Three pubs to choose from in this village but I would say this is the best for a nice meal out.
