A nice place to come

Good value restaurant, well prepared food, pleasant friendly staff.

Good to be back in what feels like our 'front room!'
Our usual ladies were on duty this time, which made our experience very pleasant. Thank you, ladies.

I have previously dined at The Royal Oak on many occasions. Unfortunately, on this occasion, I was a little disappointed.
We service we received this time, was not up to the usual standard and I found the steak a little chewy.
Has not put me off returning though.

The Royal Oak is a favourite of our and again, did not disappoint.
The staff there, now recognise us, which makes it even more pleasant.
Lovely, cosy surroundings, lovely food, reasonable prices.
Looking forward to the next visit.

Once again, a lovely meal, in very nice surroundings and good service. This is one of our favourites and will definitely be back. It had a lovely Christmassy feel and the food was very nice and good value.

We are frequent visitors and have always had a good experience before.However this time the service was awful-very slow to take our order-had two starters between 6 that took 3/4 hr.Then had been there an hour and a quarter before we got our main courses having complained politely twice.finally had to ask again to order desserts.Manager was very defensive and did not apologise.Such a shame as have always enjoyed it there.

Not eaten there in years - the difference in decor and ambiance was outstanding. Staff were lovely and our 101 year old mum loved it and so did we. We’ll be back!

We been coming to the Royal Oak for 20 plus years the food was the best for at least the last 10 years and the portion have returned to normal not small please keep up the good work and food

A lovely, cosy pub/restaurant.
Food was good, service was friendly and attentive.
Very good value for money.

They didn't have our online booking listed. I showed them my confirmation email but they said it hadn't gone on their system. They found us a table and then told us they hadn't got any roast dinners left as the kitchen closed at 7. We left so can't comment on the food.
