All of our food is freshly cooked and locally sourced with wild game during the autumn and winter season combined with plentiful seafood from the Sussex Coast only 20 minutes away. Our team of 6 chefs use the daily specials board to try out new seasonal dishes as well as providing wonderful bar food for the casual diner. We always carry a range of vegetarian dishes and will provide smaller portions for younger guests. Our Sunday Roast is renowned for being the best in Chichester!!

Very welcoming and accommodating. A simple and very well balanced menu. For a week day, high end pub lunch The Royal Oak is perfect. Highly recommend

Great staff, disappointed with food. chips were overdone, and had to be sent back, 'sides' finally arrived midway through main course and the tuile on the desert ice-cream was floppy (supposed to be crispy). Has been much better food in the past, this could have been a 'bad night'!

Delicious deep fried duck egg and tasty steak and chicken. We were given free drinks without explanation - presumably this was to compensate for the somewhat disorganised service.

Well spaced good sized tables. Excellent wine although pricey. Very good specials menu. The Person I/c the service had a couple of friends at the bar, which seemed to be her base camp. She wd sally forth do some serving and then withdraw behind a pillar with them for a chat. I even had to get up : and go over to ask her if she wd be kind enough to come across to take our pud order. Not a big deal but irritating.
