The Rowhouse Grille Ratings and Reviews
The RHG is an amazing place as far as the ambiance and the art work and the staff. However, the food left something to be desired. Just a bit of salt and pepper would turn the food around. (How do you make chorizo bland?!) Had several dishes and they all needed the same two core ingredients in cooking, salt and pepper. That would perhaps be the only low.
I must say the staff and the drinks are amazing, that alone is worth the venture to happy hour and out for a quick bite. Everyone is happy to assist you for anything you may need. Unlike some places in the area, they are will to describe to you the food with great passion (even if it needs seasoning). I would recommend and hey try for yourself, you may have a 5 star time!
The menu I looked online and found was different from the menu presented in person. The waiter was nice and explained the recent changes. The Side salad was actually good, crab dip and celery was great. The entrees were ok. Grilled chicken marinara was ok. Wings and fries were good. I would go again, but for happy hour or hanging out
We went with friends for a Raven's pre-game brunch; it was our second visit to the restaurant since our first experience was a decent one. This is kind of a neighborhood bar that focuses on pitchers of drinks and beer but they had some good food options on their menu, a few that were even kind of creative. This time, however, it seemed they took on more than they could handle. The place was packed and the service was terrible - we waited about 45 minutes to get our food. When we asked it we could get salt, pepper, ketchup and butter we were assured someone would bring them right out - it never happened. Two of us had the cornbread muffin - they tasted rancid and the crab, asparagus omelet was "tasteless" . We let our server know about the issues with the meal but by that time we were going to be late to the game so we just asked for our check. No attempt was made to make an adjustment to our check.
We'll be making other brunch choices in the future.
I went for the Artful Palette, presented by the chef, Tess and her partner, Kelly. They presented a tasting menu with accompanying drinks for each course based on the artwork surrounding the rooms.
The service was helpful and the crowd was supportive to the chef and the artist. Every course was a presentation of color and taste that was both a test to the senses and an eyeful.
I would recommend this event as they will be coming up in the coming year. Well worth the experience.
My boyfriend and I went for Vegan Restaurant Week and I was thoroughly impressed with our meals and the service. The food was well prepared, filling, and interesting. It was a little more expensive than places we normally go ($20 per entree) but since it was date night it was well worth it. Hopefully they have permanent Vegan menu items because we would love to go back!
Rowhouse Grille is a fun place. Unfortunately, it took almost 30 minutes to find a parking space, which took away from our dining experience. Our drinks, salad and oysters Rockefeller were exceptional. My New York strip unfortunately was fatty, tough and overcooked. My daughter loved her burgers and chips. My truffle fries were also out of this world.
I made a mistake and booked a reservation right before they closed. I may go back just order a salad and/or a sandwich. I would give Rowhouse Grille a second chance, especially because the server was delightful and it seemed like a lively place.
Our reservation was for 10 people for a Sunday brunch as a celebration after my daughter's baptism. The staff was very accommodating when I requested the table be on the first floor due to a guest's limitations taking stairs which I appreciated. The brunch menu was extensive enough that everyone found something they wanted and the food was delicious (whew!). The service was great and definitely recommend for others that are looking for a brunch place for family.
Bonus: bottomless bloody marys
So went to check this out for Baltimore Restaurant week, and it was well worth the trip. The food was delicious, I had the chicken chesapeake, to good to even put into words, My wife had the trout, over all good quality but needed a little bit more seasoning. And the kids had the chicken and waffle with a side of 4 cheese macaroni, they enjoyed the chicken and waffles, but not the macaroni, it wasn't their usual creamy Velveeta, it had more of extra sharp cheddar taste, which I loved. If I could swap the potatoes for the mac with my chicken chesapeake I would be in heaven. As for dessert the rownuts are a mix of sweet and savory, and the gelato had a delicious fresh home made taste which will leave you wanting more. Will definitely return to this place.
