We had 7-course chef tastings along with wine pairings. Foods were delicious and well-thought menu selections as well as beautiful presentations. Wine pairings were also well-complimented with the courses.
The only missing during dinner was the service. The service was lacking of finesse considering this was at the Mansion. For instances, drinking water was spilled over on table at least 2x, the soup course was not poured into the bowl with correct portion, mine was lesser than the other plating. Then the sauce for the sorbet was spilled over the glass and on to the table for both guests.
Comparing between the Mansion and other establishments, the service overall could not beat Carte Blanche, the Monarch, nor now closed French Room, Flora Street Cafe and Bullion.
The amazing foods, the wines, and the company, however, definitely saved the evening.
This is our go to brunch spot. Don’t mind driving from Plano to eat brunch here because the food is amazing, ambiance is southern charm, and service is immaculate however today was a miss. I am not sure why because we have attended before during a busy brunch and even dinner time. Waitress never checked on us to see if we wanted anything else, a refill on soda, or condiments. We had a booth right next to the kitchen too. A little disappointed and taking a break from visiting. Left with a bitter taste in my mouth that not even the ravioli and breakfast basket could fix.
5course dinner for anniversary was perfect!!
All of the food and service were absolutely excellent. We will be returning for sure!
I love the Mansion Restaurant! The food is delicious, the venue is beautiful, and the staff is amazing. Definitely go for brunch!
Very nice and the Hallibut was delicious. Excellent service!
We had the chef tasting menu and every course was delicious. My husband has a gluten sensitivity and they accommodated his needs beautifully. We were celebrating our anniversary and this was perfect for us!
Must stop in Dallas when visiting! All of it was niiiice 👌🏻
The Chef’s Tastings was spectacular! We went to The Mansion to celebrate our 27th wedding anniversary. Every detail was above expectations. We’ll be back for more celebrations!
I made reservations specifically with notations and called to follow up to make sure the notations were received that I was bringing in clients celebrating an engagement and asked for them to be greeted with each a glass of champagne. When we arrived we were just shown to our table and I had to pull the concierge aside to refresh my request. He apparently had no knowledge of it and I requested the champagne again. Our clients had a wonderful time, food was amazing, staff was very attentative and there are no complaints there. Just someone clearly dropped the ball. After spending $200 on a lunch I had hope someone would be more attentative to notes for reservations. The concierge even asked if we were celebrating anything and I told him it was an engagement and still no champagne.
A visit to the Mansion Restaurant is only on a very special occassion for us. This was our 47th wedding anniversary. We were delighted with the service, ambiance, food, everything.
The Mansion is one of only a few restaurants in the Metroplex that still understands how to combine elegant surroundings with impeccable service and masterfully prepared cuisine. It is an oasis of good taste with a well appointed clientele who honor this establishment with proper etiquette. It is a pleasure to dine there.
Outstanding service and food.
Beautiful surroundings. Excellent food.
The 7-course meal and wine pairing was delicious and set in a quiet elegant setting. The service was extraordinary.
Wow. A meal to remember. My three course meal was outstanding - hubby's was very very good but not quite on par with what I ordered (I had crab cake starter, scallop entree and creme brulee dessert). Each of my dishes had several different dollops of sauce/froth on the plate, along with an incredible variety of delicious vegetables. So many different tastes and textures on one plate. Fantastic presentation on all the dishes served.
Their lunch/brunch prix fixe (3 courses for $49) is a bargain. I used a TravelZoo discount and it was even more of a value. A beautiful old mansion - try to go upstairs just to look around.
Excellent food and service
We had a great time at the Mansion restaurent. It is a lovely venue and the service is very good. If you go, try the gaspacho — it is incredibly good. Everything else was also good but the soup really stood out! Also the house G&T was strangely not like a gin and tonic but incredibly interesting and tasty.
George was fantastic. We had a great time. The bar was very nice.
All 4 members of our group enjoyed the $85 tasting menu. Each course was fantastic and well executed. Great service as well. Looking forward to returning soon.
My husband and I had an amazing experience for my birthday dinner. We ordered the tasting menu and this didn’t disappoint. The service was excellent and the decor was beautiful. We are definitely coming back.
The website states they offer wheelchair access.- WELL, if you like to roll up stairs on a very unstable aluminum ramp they have to get out when you arrive and they notice you are in a wheelchair. I made reservations requesting a wheel chair accessible table! The only accessible restroom in the restaurant had to be accessed through an old elevator that my electric wheelchair - not scooter - would even fit in. The whole experience made me feel conspicuous and uncomfortable:)
Although I made reservations for 3 people the table was only set up for 2people when we arrived.
The food was ok. I felt the menu was limited. I had been looking forward to a crab cake which they did not have due to limited availability of lump crabmeat which I understand However, the blue crab in the salad was quite good, and I wish they would have offered to make a crab cake from the blue crab - I have made them with blue crab , and they turned out quite well. My husband said his turkey club was mediocre - nothing special like one would expect from a place such as The Mansion. My chopped salad with shrimp and blue crab salad was good but was skimpy on the shrimp and blue crab. My daughter's entrée of scallops looked good, and her and my husband said it was delicious. I would highly recommend Fearings at The Ritz Carlton over The Mansion if you are looking for a "special" restaurant. We have eaten there several times in the last 14 months I've been in a wheelchair and it's definitely more "wheelchair friendly", and food s better. We were told by the friendly, accommodating hostess the restaurant had to preserve the architecture for historical reasons They definitely should state on their website alongside "wheelchair accessible" there are stairs to navigate. It had been years since I had eaten there - and unfortunately didn't remember. When I made the reservation you would think they would have contacted me to see if stairs would be an issue. VERY DISSAPOINTED!
The food is always a melange of flavors that deliver beyond expectations. The staff and service are very obliging and truly understand what customer service is. The view from the veranda is always lovely… just a great place to watch and see people enjoy and celebrate life.
We did the tasting menu and had a great time! This is a fancier place than we are used to but the staff did occasionally tell us which fork to use lol
It was Amazing!!!!
One of the best restaurants I've been to. My wife and I went for our 19th Anniversary. My steak was by far the best I've ever had. The service was great, the ambiance, along with valet parking. This place is unmatched, will definitely return.
Met expectations! Excellent!
Good food, but brunch wasn’t served until 11:00am. If you’re looking for brunch, go at or after dinner 11:00am.
Went for my mom’s 60th birthday brunch. Was wonderful.
Risotto was rice soup.
Black truffles were not truffles.
No pop to the flavors.
Ambiance is tired and trading on its past
Tasting menu was very good!
