The Rosebud Ratings and Reviews
We always go here before the black hawks games. This visit was very disappointing. Our waiter was very disengaged with our table. My sister felt that was because we did not have a man at our table. We never received a refill on our drinks; and the worst part was that we watched about seven employees and twenty guests walk by our food for five minutes before it was served to us. We bet on if it would get knocked to the floor or not. I almost wished it would have because eating it after so much exposure was hardly appealing. Oh, the best part of the meal was the $22 butter noodles. Not sure if we will be back.....
We were celebrating our engagement and had an amazing dinner last night.
Our waiter Jay was great! He helped us pick out a nice bottle of wine and made wonderful suggestions for each course. The jumbo shrimp that we ordered for an appetizer were in fact jumbo, maybe even bordering lobster tail territory, and were delicious. Jay offered many tempting specials for our entre, but we couldn’t stray away from our favorite, pappardelle marinara. Of course, you can’t get pappardelle marinara without adding the best meatballs on the planet. By this point we were thoroughly stuffed, but that didn’t stop Jay from trying to entice us with a dessert. We passed this time, but those desserts of theirs are incredible too. I think the crème brule is my favorite so far.
We really couldn’t have asked for a better experience. We will be back many more times.
It was Valentine’s Day so it was expected to be busy. It took 30 minutes from checking into our reservation to get a seat. We sat at a table with cheap folding chairs and it took 15 minutes for us to put a drink order in. We ordered our food with our drink and pretty much every table around us sat after us got served. We arrived at 7:30 and for our food around 930. The food, when it arrived, was great tasting! But the wait and ambiance was not up to par. Again, I realize it was a holiday but they may have been pushing their limits a bit.
Huge disappointment. Sitting majority of minorities upstairs is offensive. Use of cheap and flimsy plastic chairs and tables was highly uncomfortable and tacky. Service deplorable because not enough waiters. Food good, but can go to other locations for a “real” restaurant
I was surprised by the item which was a special. Though I should have been more proactive, I wished my server would have better indicated the size of the portion and its price. I was caught of guard...in my humble opinion it was enough of a portion to feed three people.
The main problem we had is my girl friend ordered the muscles linguini and every bite was filled with sand. I realize you will get that occasionally with shellfish but it was so overwhelming throughout I gave her my food. For 100$ it was very disappointing.
Was visiting Chicago for the weekend with my boyfriend for our anniversary. Food was incredible, portions were large, wine list was nice. Cool ambiance, can be romantic, but you could also celebrate your birthday there. We got free dessert for our anniversary.
Upon entering the restaurant my group was recognized, greeted by name and seated immediately. The waiter explained the days specials, gave us time to absorb the menu, came back with our drinks. The specials price range from $45 and up, also there were no menus for today's specials. Their regular menu was plentiful but no description of their specials. Otherwise, food was delicious. My party had the steak, ziti, ribs, Italian wedding soup, Caesar salad with anchovies and lasagna.
We visited Rosebud recently for a late night meal after a basketball game. We were warmly received even though only an hour before closing. Our server was very attentive and personable. Two of us had the salmon which was excellent and one had the Chilean Sea Bass and one had lobster ravioli. Everyone enjoyed their meal. I highly recommend The Rosebud Restaurant.
My wife and I haven't been to Rosebud in years. We stopped there after the Blackhawks game and were surprised that are food wasn't as good as we expected. The Calamari was good, but our entries weren't
She had the "Taylor Street" ribs and I had chicken Vesuvio.
I guess we should have went with pasta.
The waiter was very knowledgeable and attentive
