Very good food and good portions. service was excellent
Absolutely fabulous experience. Slight mishap with our order and they quickly fixed it and were extremely apologetic. We could not have been happier with the service. Can’t wait to go back!
Our meal was perfectly prepared and the staff welcoming and attentive. So glad to be able to enjoy a meal at this iconic Chicago Italian restaurant.
Dinner before Blackhawks Game. Arrived at 6 pm. Restaurant was about 50% full. Server took drink order and appetizer about 10 mins after we arrived. Took another 15-20 mins to get appetizer. Placed order right away after drinks were brought out. The bus staff were very attentive the waitress was nice but did not check in till 7:00 to see if we needed any drinks refilled. I pressed about our dinner order because we were going to be late to the game and she said she saw it coming out soon. Meanwhile other tables that were there after we arrived were tended to often and finished within 35-40 mins after arrival. We ordered a burger, chicken parm, eggplant parm and a Marsala dish. All easy dinners…At 7:10 or meals were brought out. My dinner was wrong and the other dinners looked thrown together. Burger under cooked. We asked for to-go containers when she brought the entrees out and scarfed down our dinners as quickly as possible and were so angry. We have been coming here for decades before Hawks games. Unfortunately we will not be back. Too many other great Italian options around to be this disappointed again. We were late to the start of the game and did not even have a drink or the appetizer comped. Trying to be kind because of staff shortage but that clearly was not the case here.
Great service, staff really nice. Food was great and portions are good.
Great atmosphere, superb service and the food was delicious!
Really wonderful atmosphere and great food!
New Year’s Eve is typically hectic and fraught with culinarily disasters. Rosebud treated us as if it was an ordinary weeknight. Service was excellent, the food was well prepared and the portions were huge. There regular menu was available as were some NYE specials. No pressure to upgrade or to over order. One of our favorite places and less than a mile away.
Great New Year’s Eve at the rose bud. Our server was outstanding. The food was fabulous.
Henry was great. Very funny and knowledgeable about the food. Always have a good time there. Little tip for couples. Book table 12 nice out of the way table in the cut if you know what I mean. 😉
Managers John and Louis were terrific and very attentive. Food was delicious and the specials were especially extra delicious. Service was great.
Christmas, after not being able to dine at Rosebud Taylor Street for two years, WAS MAGNIFICENT. Because it was a favorite haunt, we REALLY missed it. Everything was as great as we remembered. Can’t wait to sit outside. Thankful you all survived the pandemic!
The food was okay, the service could have been more informative and attentive to our needs( take away plates, bring clean plates, not be ask twice for more water)
The service started out slow and was downhill from there. My Wedge salad was heavily dressed, the shrimp scampi is over priced for the portion size ( there’s only 3 sharing to an order) and they were over cooked and tough to chew, the burger ordered was prepared incorrectly TWICE. The 1st time it was made with cheese in error manager apologized, the 2nd time it was good well done in steady of Medium manager never came back to follow up, both times the entire meal was sent back uneaten. management didn’t offer anything for inconvenience and this was mentioned to the server and still manager did not come by. It was our 1st and last time dining there.
Shield boys patrons at table with a cold breeze.
Excellent service, excellent food, pricey but worth every penny!
Calamari was like rubber bands smelled too fishy had no flavor. The pork chop calabrese were under cooked. Not enough sauce the potatoes were too big, harts, dry and no flavor. In the past plenty of sauce and potatoes were cut small and were soft in the sauce. They had no blender can’t afford one next time I will bring mine. The chicken fettuccine Alfredo was excellent
Professional service and great menu. And as with most restaurants these days, you take half your meal home in a box. Had the combination meatballs, sausage, pork, and peppers. Terrific meal.
Our server had a little trouble with our order. He told us he had been with the restaurant for only 2 months. I think he may have been a little nervous.
A most pleasant intimate dinner and was quiet enough to have nice conversation.
Outstanding food, nice big portions, outstanding service, easy parking. What more could you want? My favorite restaurant!
Everything was excellent, but highly recommend the massive chicken parmesan and the pork chop calabrese!
Just OK. Food was not as spectacular as I remember. I prefer Italian restaurants closer to my home. If I’m traveling over an hour and spending over $300 on dinner, I’m expecting more of a WOW factor. Staff was polite and attentive.
This Old School Italian Restaurant always delivers an amazing meal. The food and service is always top notch. We celebrated a special occasion and had a wonderful evening. We can not wait to come back. We highly recommend the spicy grilled calamari to start, the meatballs and the chicken parm. It is the perfect meal. Cheers!
It was our wedding anniversary! Great ambiance, great food and service ! Had the zuppa de mar!! Loved it ! Wife had salmon picatta another great dish! They don’t disappoint!
Chopped salad and rigatoni were amazing. The Zuppa de mare was just okay. Our family loves rosebud of the years past. It’s a safe staple of Chicago restaurants.
Always a great dinner
Very solid option for Italian. The bill wasn’t out of control and each of our dishes seemed to employ a high attention to detail. I was a member of the clean plate club, so you know it was good (cavatelli arrabiata). Would definitely go back to try another dish. My friends ordered the bolognese and the lasagna. I tried those as well and would recommend!
Not a great experience The eggplant in the Eggplant stack was col and old. Picking wine was torture since they were out of a lot of wines. The server gave me a terrible time about tasking the Rosebud wine that was sold by the glass, She told me I would have to buy a glass. Finally she asked and brouhjt it.and it was just OK so I finally ordered a Pinot Noir. No clams so no pasta and clam sauce Just not s successful meal.
Great place to go before a game at the UC. Food is excellent.
The food and ambiance is as authentic Italian as one could get. Happy to experience the old world in all its beauty and deliciousness!
As a native Chicagoan, Rosebud is an icon. You can never go wrong dining at Rosebud. Taylor Street is my favorite location. It is authentic Italian food & consistently the best!
New server…not his fault…but other people might be irritated. We took it as a training session from seasoned diners!
Excellent food and service.
Excellent food and service
Glad to have "The Grandaddy" back open
Everything was great! I can’t believe they were closed for a year due to pandemic. If u haven’t been yet, u need to go to support and keep this great place going!!! David
Great! Super cozy
Rosebud may have been closed longer than expected during this pandemic, but they are back and the food is still delicious!! Highly recommend 👌
I entertained business colleagues from Mexico. Our server spoke to them in perfect Spanish, which was greatly appreciated. He was, overall, excellent in every way. Our food was delicious. One of my guests had requested pasta vongole, which the server thought was feasible. When he returned, he informed my guest that, with regret, the chef "didn't know how to make vongole". I found this odd for a restaurant of Rosebud's reputation. We found a nice wine on their list, but the list definitely isn't what it used to be. We were told that it was "Covid related". I hope that they return to their previous excellence.
