We went there after a play. Very quiet and great food. On the expensive side though.
Wonderful food and fantastic staff make this place an absolute MUST
The Rosebud on Taylor has become our staple for special occasions like Valentine’s Day. The food is delicious, reasonably priced, and there are new specials every time. Beyond that, Teddy, our regular server, provides an incredible experience, recommending the proper amount of food and drink to share each time. We request to sit in his area specifically every visit, highly recommend!
Out for Valentine’s Day before going to a show at Chicago theatre. Saw IL Volo perfect night and everything was times out correctly. Our waiter was very kind
The portion size was great and the service was awesome, especially for a day like Valentine’s Day. However, where we were sitting, there was a vent directly above us that was releasing very cold air on a day that was below zero, it almost felt like we were eating outside; my date never took of her jacket. Normally this would have ruined any other date but the flavor and quality of the food at this restaurant saved the day.
Great place to dine - good recommendations by the wait staff. Friendly service. Their house wine and desserts are top notch!
Don’t fill up on the bread, you’ll regret it :)
Great Server. I did not asked his name but the service was above standard.
Service was good. Food came out relatively fast and the quality was great. Both my partner and I enjoyed ourselves very much. The only thing that was a bit offsetting was the really dim lights but aside from that everything was great.
Food was fabulous!!! Great service and the ambiance was perfect for the occasion (Valentine's Day).
Every visit here does not disappoint. The food is fabulous and consistent. The wait staff are very helpful and the ambiance is old school Italian which is appreciated when visiting Little Italy! Great to have restaurants that have stayed true to their mission and have not tried to be something else or too "fancy" and stray away from the basics. Every time I have friends in town they ask to go to Rosebud because of the wonderful meals that they remember each time. Location is great and parking easy with Valet available.
Excellent as always. We come every year for my girlfriends birthday. Food is fantastic as always. We had 10 people and everyone was very happy and very full. The staff was wonderful in every way. Thank you rosebud for another success birthday celebration.
The service was exceptional! And the Lasagna was absolutely amazing!
Always wonderful here, Tomas took great care of us. To be honest, we were not really happy with the Chicago dining week choice, but we will definitely be back because we know how wonderful the other food is!
We come here often, ask for Teddy as much as he is available, which always makes for a nice dining experience. The dish I get is always the same and this night was not done very well (Chicken calabrese). There were only three red peppers with no other peppers and no sauce. Green beans are no longer an option so I asked for asparagus steamed soft as I do not eat the potatoes. I received three pieces and they were hard. We have two Rosebuds much closer to our home but we always make the drive, as this is our favorite, but was disappointed on this very slow night for them.
We started out with a sit down in a fairly busy restaurant but after being seated water came there was no waiter for at least 10 minutes. No drinks could be ordered as we were looking around for service. Upon my turning to the right I accidentally knocked my knife off of the table. It made the obvious sound which was loud enough to attract attention but there was no one to come and pick it up. My good friend Dr. Barba who co-owns restaurants picked it up and held it as to not place the floor knife back on the table. At that point we called over the closest waiter and told them that we needed a replacement as well as we gave him our drink order since we were not going to let a server go with no attention to our table. Minutes later a gentleman that we assumed was management and asked if our waiter had been to our table and we told him briefly of our lack of attention. Service for the rest of the evening was adequate and the appetizers, alcohol, salads and sides were good. My wife ordered the prime rib which was a special that evening and came hot and good. My Delmonico steak, Dr Barba's steak and his guests Osso Buco were all tepid. Quite dissapointing. Your restaurant missed on service and on foor!Your restaurant needs to take lessons from Eddie V.s or Capitol Grill. Rosebud on Taylor is a winner but not Rosebud Steak. Regretfully Tom Palmisano
Great go to especially if you’re coming out of the city during rush hour.
Old School Italian dining.
We usually do a Meat Ball salad with their generous entree of fresh Flat Noodles.
With a good glass of wine - What Rush Hour!
Great food, service and wonderful background music.
Always a pleasure coming here. It’s my favorite of their locations. Excellent food and service.
Mussels in spicy red sauce was outstanding. Very generous portion, cooked just right, Great flavor. Both veal dishes were cooked to perfection (this is a meat that is easy to over-cook).
Took my husband here for his birthday because he’s always wanted to go and it did not disappoint. We arrived early and they were able to seat us. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. The food was fantastic and there is a lot of it! We took leftovers of everything.
Overall experience was great, but both of us had some stomach pains and think it might have been the calamari. It did taste fresh , so perhaps the salad. Something wasn’t right but I’ll be back just skip those two items
My wife didn’t eat her pasta with muscles. The taste was off and the muscles were quite small.
I had a Mediterranean salad. It was passable, I wouldn’t call it good.
Good service though.
Awesome as always!
Made a reservation to come eat before the Blackhawks game. As usual, wonderful food and service.
Rosebud is an Italian restaurant located on Taylor Street in Chicago, in a neighborhood traditionally known as Little Italy. So, there are numerous Italian restaurants to choose from in the area. The ambiance was nice, lots of dark wood paneling and accents, really nice bar area. However, it is very overpriced. Dinner for two, one glass of wine each, one shared salad, a whitefish entrée and a pasta entrée, one shared dessert. Tab north of $125.00 not including tax and tip. Food was average to pretty good, but there are several other nearby spots where we would have enjoyed dinner for two featuring better food for half the price. Maître d', waiter, bus staff were very friendly, very attentive, excellent all around, but I doubt we'll be back.
Love this place. Classic Italian, always consistently good , and great service .
The food was very fresh and absolutely amazing!
The manager (has think is name was Marco) was the best! He made sure our family had everything we needed- including the perfect table for my elderly parents! He and his staff were so entertaining and made us feel like family. The food was delicious and felt like our grandmothers from Italy made it for us. You can see that the staff loves working there. We can’t wait to go back!
Perfect evening to celebrate our son’s birthday. The food was excellent, the ambiance was cozy and the service was exceptional.
Quiet place, server was extremely helpful and very attentive. Ordered bruschetta , sausage and peppers and calamari for appetizers for the table. The sausage and peppers were delicious but the rest was just ok and not much flavor. Server suggested a the filet which we ordered medium and it was EXTREMELY dry and very overdone. It came with broccoli that was just steamed and served. For the price of this meal I expected so much more not worth it in my opinion, somewhat of a disappointment.
My daughter has Celiac and must be gluten free. We told the waiter and explained her entire order must be gluten free. There was some real wheat pasta in the bottom of her bowl of gluten free pasta . She has been quite sick now for days .
This was a tremendous disappointment and quite disturbing experience
I have been a Rosebud regular for decades and will now be cautious about returning .
Excellent from arrivals to departures. Can’t beat it!
You are treated very special!!
My daughter’s birthday cel!
As always, everything was perfect
This is our go to place when we want a great meal. We've been coming to The Rosebud for years and we'll continue for more. The appetizer that was new to us was the scallops, they were amazing even with the $6.00 per piece price tag. They made our Christmas Eve dinner very enjoyable!
Very good as always. food was excellent. service was very good. We every Christmas eve. its a tradition.
We are longtime fans of Rosebuds and went for Christmas Eve at 4:00. We did this same thing last year and it was wonderful!! This year was a bit disappointing. The waiter was overwhelmed and took a long time to take our order. This was problematic because we had 4 brick chicken orders which take time to cook. There were two mistakes in the order and we had to send both plates back. One in particular was distressing because the individual couldn’t have spicy food, specifically asked if the food was spicy, was told it wasn’t, and then it was. The waiter was apologetic and I know it was a tough night for him. The thing is we made the reservations a month in advance and were really looking forward to the evening. I’m not sure we will be back for Christmas Eve again. One positive note—coconut cake was awesome:)
Food was not cooked.
