Excellent service and food!!
Always, NEVER disappoints!!
Our waiter was amazing!!!!!
The Rosebud is a must stop if you're traveling through Chicago. Best Italian meal in Chicago. Highly recommend to everyone. Definitely our favorite restaurant in Chicago.
Our food was outstanding, but the service was relatively poor. The waiter was brusk, lacked knowledge of the menu, had poor English, and failed to bring a side item.
Our waiter, Nick was excellent! And the food was fantastic.
Seating and service was Amazing. Food was so Good and more than what any of us could finish. We were able to sit and enjoy conversation without constantly having someone ask if we needed anything and that was Great. Our server was beyond Great.
We were disappointed in the meal overall, went for a true Italian experience and felt very rushed (meal came out immediately after our appetizer and then we were immediately asked if we would like to box our leftovers). Food was good but for the price we should never have felt like we needed to stuff it down and then head out immediately. Were never asked about dessert, went down the street and had another glass of wine and cheesecake there. Disappointing!
This was our absolutely favorite restaurant in Chicago for years. Then “little things” started changing ... Focaccia Bread, was excellent, but no longer available; their Spumoni ice cream was very good always, but has been replaced by a lesser quality product. Staff is excellent, dinners are still very good, and location and ambiance are top rate. Disappointed that corner cutting on relatively low cost items is impacting the overall experience.
The Rosebud provides by far the best Traditional Italian dining experience in Chicago! Such a great variety of dining choices, beautiful dining ambiance, and excellent attentive service. We love going here every chance we can!
The food and service were good, but the place is old and run down and needs a face lift. In fact it was depressing. I was disappointed.
The service was excellent and the food was delicious. My boyfriend and I got to sit at the Sinatra table because there weren’t many people that night.
Always go here and always get great food and great service! A+
They gave me dessert on the house for my birthday. Great service.
Jose, our Waiter was excellent. Food was outstanding. Italian wedding soup was delicious. 8 finger cavatelli arriabatta wasn’t outstanding.
Wonderful dining in Chicago's Little Italy!!
The escarole and bean soup had no taste, the linguine with clams had cilantro in it????
The veal Marsala was good.
The waitress was just ok.
Nice ambience and throwback Italian atmosphere
We were celebrating my birthday with our daughters and husbands and 1 grandson. We have celebrated many a family occasion at the Rosebud as it is a favorite of both my wife and myself. We always feel like we are among family here, it's a genuine friendly atmosphere. The drinks and food were outstanding as we have come to expect. Our waiter took very good care of us. All-in-all it was the kind of wonderful evening that we are used to at the Rosebud. I personally have been coming here for over 35 years and expect to continue dining here for many years to come.
Dinner and service was outstanding, table was ready when we arrived. Drink selection was good. Friendly comfortable atmosphere.
I worked for rosebud for over 5 years, and I'm embarrassed on their behalf for the complete disregard for service put forward. I mention that because the truth is hard to get out of management and the waiter, who avoided us like the plague because he forgot to put our order in, and then in rushing the order, baked ziti cheese was barely melted, and we never saw a hint of steam off either of our dishes. We only waited 52 minutes from the time of order, until the food came out. The manager kindly removed a glass of wine, but neither finished our meals, nor did we have time to celebrate my wife's birthday either. We didn't finish our meals because it was undercooked, cold, and disrespectful. This comment won't impact this location's business, but a brand I once loved, will now surely be one I avoid, and tell friends and family accordingly
Absolutely phenomenal meal start to finish with great & lightning fast service. Probably a top 3 Italian restaurant meal I’ve ever had. Will be back soon
We have been to Rosebud many times. Although the pricing is high, you get big portions. We will return.
Loved the food and the ambiance. If you do not get the stuffed artichoke you are making a mistake. Also the Veal cutlet was large enough for three people. I will be back.
We celebrated our first year anniversary, and wrote it in our reservation and no one acknowledged it. We waited at the host table for about 5 minutes before any one helped us. We did not want to take the appetizer home so we sent it back when we were full and the waiter reprimanded us for not taking it to go. Once my husband went to the bathroom, he brought out the check. We noticed that all of the tables around us asked for their checks when they were ready to go. We felt very rushed. The filet was great but the rest of the meal was not worth the amount spent.
Good food. Great home made pasta. Huuuuuge portions - enough to last a few days. Great service.
Outstanding as usual. I had the veal chop special but with pomodoro sauce on it instead. I like how they will allow me to make to order. Excellent service too.
We ended up eating at the bar. Pam the bartender was phenomenal. Long time employee. Great attitude and service. Overall great experience
Went there on a 1st date and it was beautiful. Atmosphere is very personal and accomodating. Couldn't ask for a better place to eat and have drinks.
The food & portion size was great. Next time we would order fewer plates & share instead!
Best Italian food you’ll ever eat, including what you get in Italy! Must try the baked ziti!!!
Very good food, very generous portions, enjoyed sitting upstairs where it wasn't too loud.
If there was anything they could adjust is bring out our dinner a little slower , they are great at turning over tables especially if you have a game or concert to go to. Otherwise great Italian food and huge portions for sharing
Things we like: seated immediately, portion sizes and ambiance.
Things we did not like: Had to ask waiter what were the evenings specials. This is usually offered when they first approach you. Desserts-cheesecake was bland in taste and carrot cake did not have the traditional cream cheese frosting and was dry.
It is one of the best restaurants in Chicago. Very old school and brings you back in time. It is the experience along with the food.
Great dinner and atmosphere. A bit $$$ but that’s Chicago. The only reason I gave it three stars and is because when I made my OpenTable reservation months ago, I added comments to inform the restaurant that it was my wife’s birthday. Maybe my expectations were a bit high, but I thought they would at least say happy birthday or maybe give her some sort of complementary dessert. There was nothing so I was a frankly disappointed, Especially after what I paid for the meal. I did not expect a chain of people to come around singing happy birthday like at some chain restaurant, but a small recognition would’ve been great from the staff, Especially since OpenTable asked if it was a special occasion and gave me an area to make comments. Apparently that doesn’t really matter at least in my experience. However, the food was delicious and service was exceptional.
The food was very good and they gave us a cannoli for our anniversary. Ambiance and staff very nice and we were seated immediately. The issue is that I felt very rushed and I overheard the people behind us saying the same thing. If you are looking for good food in a hurry, it’s all that you want. If you want to enjoy your time and have an experience I would recommend that you go somewhere else or just order in waves. Don’t order an entree until you are done with your appetizer, etc. I would go back...I would just control the time and sequence.
Thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The portions were very generous and the salad served the four of us! Our server was pretty good, but she definitely had some issues remembering what was ordered and would have done better to ensure it was all written down.
We were in town for the marathon and this was a perfect place to eat authentic Italian food before the big race. The service was amazing too!
Veal marsala was very tender. Sauce is very dark and rich.
Were sat at an odd table. Didn't feel we were paid attention to as our waiter, Tony who had our table, didn't have any other tables around us. So felt like a nuisance. Won't be back.
I really enjoy coming to the restaurant and I have to say this is my favorite restaurant. I prefer sitting upstairs since it’s quieter than downstairs and the seating isn’t so close to the next table. We’ve never had a problem but at 10:00pm they turned on all the lights upstairs and we joked so were being kicked out and the waiter laughed and said yeah I guess so since he was newer and the other waiter just turned everything on. I thought that was so unprofessional since they informed us they closed at 11pm even upstairs. We were finishing our bottle of wine and had to down it so we can leave. We were a little taken back.It was my birthday celebration and I chose to come here and relax, eat and drink and not be rushed. I will definitely probably not want to go back now.
Great place for our team business meal. Loved the Veal!
