I had made the res for 2 instead of 6. They still got us in right away. Food was great. Love the white clam sauce
Outstanding service and food was wonderful.
Best damn linguini and clams in Chicago
Overpriced, mediocre Italian. Example: Wine @ $40, I priced it out at Binny's for $8.99.
This Place is an institution. It’s reeks of Old World Chicago . It’s nostalgic ... not just in the sense of Chicago , but Family . This is how Italians live , eat and drink . Sprinkle that with a “lil” mafioso , and there you have it ... The Rosebud ! I could eat here every day and never tire of it ... but if only once you can , that once will ring forever in your mind. This is the magic of Alex Dana and The Rosebud ...
And now you know ... the rest ...
of the story !
Great authentic Italian. Service and food quality excellent. Desserts delicious.
This was our first visit and the food was outstanding.....there was so much we had to take home food. Our server couldn't have been nicer. He guaranteed the veal dish our grandson ordered would be the best he had ever had.....and it was. We would definitely go back when we visit Chicago.
The dinner was fantastic as always, we were there for Mothers Day dinner and we loved it!
Great as always. Great food and good time. Will always go back.
Hadn't been to the Rosebud in years. The food was just as good as I remembered. Service was food. Will definitely recommend to friends and will be back soon!
This restaurant's quality has not disappointed in the thirty some years I've been going there. It's the place I use as a treat for my family and any others that I consider special in my life.
Amazing ambiance as I remembered from years ago. Had a fabulous server! Perfect attentiveness!
We were celebrating my son's 21st b-day - everything was perfect!!! A most memorable evening!
Food was Lackluster at best but the server was great. Had a big personality. For it to be Mother’s Day weekend and not have requested wine available was a disappointment.
Great atmosphere, delicious food, and wonderful service.
Every thing was perfect! Last time I was at the Taylor Street restaurant was in the early '90s. If anything, The Rosebud has gotten even better than the awesome it was back then.
A special thanks to our waiter, David...service makes all the difference and, he nailed it!!!
As we no longer live in Illinois, Rosebud is a must at least once per visit. We miss it so!
This type and quality of food is pretty non-existent in Arizona.
Everything & Everyone was OUTSTANDING as usual.
We heard other tables raving about their food, I believe it was the first time for one table, and they were quite blown away by everything. They had a great waiter, and listened to his recommendations, smart!
The food is consistently fantastic and the wait staff is fun, informative and accommodating. They are attentive, without being bothersome.
The chefs are terrific, we Never had a bad meal, ever. Great bartenders, too!
If you're thinking about trying Rosebud, don't hesitate! Take it from two Italians, try it, you'll love it here ! Mangia , Salute.
Mr. & Mrs. Masse , Az.
Always good, but ever since you changed cooking the lasagna in an individual small casserole dish and serving it that way and now serve it just on a plate it is always barely warm... which makes it less desirable. Bring back the dish instead of the plate.
Pre theater dinner!
Too much to eat!!
Sad we couldn’t take the leftovers home as we were visiting from out of town!!
Food is always great.
I met a group of customers for dinner. Valet was easy and fast, we were seated quickly and our waitress was prompt. LocTed in the heart of Little Italy, the unique ambiance was perfect.
The menu can be a little confusing but the waitress quickly cleared that up. The wine menu was very good and the choice (suggested by the waitress) was fantastic!
Every aspect of the meal and dining experience was great! Food quality, portions, flavor, and service were better than expected.
Everything was great: food, service and atmosphere!
I haven’t eaten at a Rosebud restaurant in a while, but I had memories of loving the food. This time, the food was very average. Not bad, just nothing special and definitely overpriced for average Italian food. Our service was extremely slow. Our meal took 2 hours. Luckily we were in no hurry.
Our waiter Nick was amazing. His food suggestions were awesome as well as his service.
Service was great! Unfortunately some not all the food was over salted or way to much balsamic!
Great as usual. Out of town guests with two children and were treated like royalty by Tony
It has been a while since I had been to The Rosebud so I was hoping it was as good as I had remembered. We were not disappointed The Rosebud remains and outstanding old school Chicago stand out in Little Italy. Great food, service and ambience.
The service was excellent and our dinners were spectacular as always! We have been coming here for special occasions for over 30 years and have never had a bad meal. Highly recommended for couples and small groups.
We felt that the food was just okay. I don’t mind spending a lot for a good meal, but $120 for two of us with no alcohol, no appetizers and chicken for an entrée was a bit much unless it was excellent - which it wasn’t. The single scoop strawberry gelatin was not creamy or smooth and tasted artificial with no strawberries. Disappointed.
Excellent food, great service. Been here three times now and each time the food and service was consistently great. I highly recommend giving this restaurant a try.
Wonderful as usual.
Very gracious and I really liked this restaurant and menu. The best thing was the appetizer special (scallops on crostini or bruschetta) and I wish that had been my entree. It was spectacularly presented, delicious and good value.
The chicken breast Vesuvio was sort of ordinary and a bit dry. Everything was overall very nice with some special touches, but I cannot cal it over-the-top 5 stars. But I would definitely return without hesitation.
Clearly a hit as it was very crowded on s Saturday night.
We were celebrating a birthday with a large party of 10 and had such a wonderful experience at Rosebuds! Our server, I believe his name was Nicholas, was absolutely phenomenal! He provided excellent service and made our evening so much more enjoyable!
It’s a very nice restaurant. Our first waiter was very fun and friendly. Our second waiter rubbed me the wrong way. He kept calling us ‘Girls.’ And when I asked how was the lasagna, he said that people will say anything and then said he didn’t eat there. This was my first trip to this restaurant and it was for my birthday and while it was nice and the portions were generous, I was not so in love with any of the options that I would ever need to visit again.
This is a great old-school eatery. The food is always phenomenal. I am a fan of the Lamb Shank Osso Bucco. It's on their Special so I always order it when they have it otherwise, I am just as happy with the Pork Chops, Calabrese style. Thick and juicy with crispy potatoes. Service it always superior and friendly.
As always, perfect in every way!
Usually I'm used to Italian restaurants being packed. The Rosebud on Taylor is different - it's tucked away in Little Italy so you can enjoy a dining experience away from the craziness of downtown. Which means you can actually hold a conversation with some privacy and still receive the same superb service. Our server clearly was well prepared and informed on the menu and was happy to suggest the stuffed mushrooms (which were amazing in that garlic sauce).
Business trip meal - everything was great except for the waiter not knowing a their bar selection well.
Best Italian in the city hands down.
The food is always great at Rosebud, but I was really disappointed with the service. I requested a birthday desert for my husband with a candle when I made the reservation, and even called the day of to confirm and NO dessert of candle was delivered to the table. I kept thinking it was going to happen when they brought out the dessert menu, but no, then the coffee, but no. At that point it was too late to bother.
The food gets worst every time I come here and this was my last visit to them. You can get better veal just about anywhere and their famous $18 Taylor Street artichoke is extremely watered.
