The Rose Venice
Chef Jason Neroni presents modern California cuisine that is globally influenced and seasonally driven by local farms. The menu is complimented by a thoughtfully curated wine list, highlighting boutique producers focused on self sustainable practices. The bakery celebrates American classics, as well as some of the original Rose classics, re-conceptualized with their innovative techniques.
The sprawling space has indoor and outdoor dining areas including ample patio seating, a full market and bakery, Verve Coffee bar, and 40-foot craft-cocktail bar.
Delightful little place. Would go back. Know that it can be quite noisy, so if you're planning on a conversation be sure to call and ask for a quiet table.
Service was terrible! Spotty waitress and clearly internal communication between staff is poor.
So many flys swarming food.
As good as it gets. The food is not merely excellent, it is off the chart outstanding. The chef has created summer seasonal plates with plums and nectarines and enhanced with pungent spices. The pastas are as good as in the best restaurants of Rome. The Cacio e pepe and the ravioli are spiced perfectly and to call them optimally al dente would be an understatement. We have dined at the finest restaurants in Los Angeles. None are better than the Rose Cafe in Venice.
Hostess had a serious attitude problem. It's like we ruined her day by asking to be shown to our table.
This restaurant is similar to Otium in style.
Food is overall too salty. Also it is pricey.
Other than the above everything else is good.
Great.. Nice place..
Good restaurant and the service was excellent. But very very noisy. Hard to hear the people you’re dining with.
Always the best. Always.
The amount of octopus you get in the ceviche is WELL worth the price. The lamb shawarma with homemade pita is the best I’ve ever had.
Servers were all personable, helpful and very funny actually.
Can’t wait to go back!
Great location, loved the vibe and set up, friends were super happy with the fare!
The busboys understand the concept of service, unfortunately the servers do not. Imagine paying top price for an appetizer and the young server wants to take it away, has her hand on the dish, while there’s a substantial serving on the plate! And the drinks did not come from the bar, until after the food arrived. So, take it slow when you order, even if it takes the server a while to get to your table to take your order. The bar gets backed up. The servers response was very cold, when we reminded her we were waiting for our drinks. The calamari dish is served cold. Don’t order it. Pizza in the restaurant is $40, so if you want a choice of pizza at a standard price you’ll need to eat it in the bar.
“no use of laptop policy in the dining room area for dinner” - put a sign up (i don’t want to work during dinner but it was a biz mtg” the Asst Mgr was someone arrogant/ rude. terribly handled.
Underwhelmed for a heavily reviewed 4.5 starred restaurant. Surprisingly, food was out too quickly to the point that the dishes were lacking flavor and were not that warm. You had to wonder how grilled octopus can come to your table in just 5 minutes. We were informed that the plates were sized to share, but not necessarily true for a few of the dishes. I definitely understand why there are no prices listed on their online menu.
Out of town guests wanted to see Venice Beach and the Santa Monica area.
Amazing location, people, service. Venue is casual and mega cool. Really enjoyed the lunch
It was hard for me to say YES. I've been to the Rose before and it was one of my favorite restaurants. I had head it had started to go downhill, and I was hoping the talk was wrong. My friend and I both ordered the tasting menu. The waitress couldn't answer our questions about the menu, we were told be the manager that they were "working on that". Some of the courses they brought were incorrect, the last course included snails, which wasn't listed on the menu. Needless to say, neither one of us eat snails and never would have ordered the dish if we had known. Overall a very disappointing experience.
Great menu, food prep was creative and well done, enjoyed our lunch greatly.
Absolutely super and always reliable choice. Their rib-eye is world class.
fantastic, creative, delicious and satisfying food in a cool vibe room with great service what more could we ask for ? a jason neroni resto near our house!
The food was great, but the service was HORRIBLE. It was as if our waiter completely forgot about us. The food took forever to come, and in a span of 2 hours, we only got 1 drink each despite ordering another round 3 times. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Music is too loud to have an intimate conversation so be prepared just to stare longingly at your date...
The wait staff were so nice but over busy so messed up drink orders and appetizer orders.
Still loved it...
Amazing culinary experience, would defenitly go back on my next trip to Cali
Food is good. Noise level too high. Blaring music. Overall, not a pleasant experience, even with quite OK food.
Although very good restaurants abound all over Venice and Santa Monica, the Rose continues to excel and thus stay ahead of the pack. Menu items continue to change and delight, with seasonal flair and the best local produce to be found anywhere.
Party of two. We were seated 40 minutes after reservation time although open two tops were everywhere. Host was ice cold and seemed out of her depths. Basic cocktails for medium quality liquor were $17 each. No accommodations made for the late seating. Food very average and WAY overpriced. I’m not from LA area but can tell you this place would not make it one year in SF. Avoid unless you just want to be seen and drop a bunch of cash.
Everything was fine, but the indication of $$ was incorrect. I would rather classify this restaurant with $$$.
I have never had a better meal in the entire USA!! Just a great place with food made from scratch the way it should be...amazing selection, fresh and awesome! Do not miss the burrata ... Cannot wait to go back; may have to become a regular here!!
Great service, great food, beautiful outdoor area.
Great spot , really good food , however service was sometimes missing .
And a bit hard to have a conversation as the noise level is loud .
Excellent food! Did not disappoint. Waitress was a bit snooty but the rest of the staff were wonderful.
The hostess was the worst! She soured my experience greatly. When we left the restaurant, her goodbye was worse than her hello. Unfriendly, arrogant and her expression and lack of humanity was terrifying. I will try to avoid this place for the rest of my life.
I sent a note and asked our waitress about a candle in the dessert for my friend's birthday. I asked the waitress if we order dessert, is she able to bring it out with a candle, which she confirmed yes. When the dessert came out, there was no candle. I had to ask her about it, which created an awkward moment around my friend. She brings out a candle on a plate. I was disappointed with this botched amateur service and surprise, especially when I support Rose a lot.
The food, the ambiance, and the service were great. The prices for the food portions did not match. Pretty overpriced, but we still had a great time. Our party of four met for dinner.
Great venue / vibes for a 8 person get together. Surprised I was able to get a reservation!
Extremely expensive. Ok dishes. Small sized, even tough they tell you they’re to share.
Love the place, been there many times but tonight the service was really slow- it took forever for our stuff to come. And I feel like we picked the wrong things because the food was a little disappointing. That being said, we will still give it another chance because we have good memories
My fiancé and I decided to check out the dinner experience at The Rose because we loved their breakfast. We were a bit disappointed due to the food being salty and taking a long time to come out. It was a pretty good restaurant, and their service was great, but at that price point, they need to pay a little bit more attention to detail.
Consistently good food and service.
I would if it wasn’t so expensive . Service was spectacular and they really helped to accommodate my disabled son.
