   Food was terrible! I ordered king salmon belly over brown rice. Tasted way too rich with mayo or oily texture with so much salt on the green nori, I had to take tiny bites. Wanted almond croissants, and decaf coffee but were not available. What happened to the bakery section? Mostly disappeared. Not going back.

   Such a great ambience and food. We took our son here for brunch. Loved it. Started with the biscuit to share with the table. Followed by a great breakfast. Very happy with our choice to go to The Rose Venice.

   Celebrated my wife’s birthday with my teenage daughter (17 year old) and her friend and everyone enjoyed the casual cool atmosphere , the piped-in music and of course the food. Tough choice with many tempting pasta entrees with 2 thumbs up to the pasta Carbonara. My wife loved the cocktails and the service was professional. Definitely worthy of another visit.

   We have been to the Rose Venice several times for Brunch. We love the croissants and try to get to restaurant early enough so that we can buy some separately to take home. The kitchen does not allow substitutions (I did not ask if the kitchen makes allowances for food allergies) so if you have food allergies, you may want to check the menu first. We will be back.

   We went for Saturday brunch to celebrate my mom’s birthday. There were 3 adult women and a toddler. The food was pretty good, with the exception of my daughter’s cheeseburger. We ordered it from the kids menu and it was delivered to our table raw and bloody. Definitely not suitable for a two-year-old. We asked to have it cooked thoroughly and our server made a face and seemed put out. Our server was deficient in personality and capability. The food runner was even worse. She was super rude. I had noted in our reservation that it was my mother’s birthday. Did they make it special? Nope. Did they do anything at all? Nope. We asked to split the check two ways and the server charged the same card twice. This is our third time dining at The Rose with a horrible server. She’s lucky I always tip 20 percent after years in the service industry, but she deserved zero dollars. This place has declined over the years and the food is decent, but the service makes it an exhausting experience.

    Small portions in the brunch menu. We ordered for 7 people and almost every portion was a small sized bowl. Only a couple of them (breakfast burrito) was a larger size. For the price, too little food.

    The food was fantastic and it’s beautiful building and decor. The staff we encountered was cordial, but I wouldn’t say overly friendly. It was very loud in there - it was busy and Sunday brunch, but louder then I’ve experienced at other places. Good menu choices, lots of variety… and again, the food was outstanding.

    Reservation is a must and it’s a cute spot but depending on where you’re seated. I was put next to the kitchen where the ambiance is nowhere near as nice as their outdoor areas. Plus there’s a health tax.

    Delicious! Went for brunch and the really enjoyed our experience.. we ordered the blueberry pancakes, French toast which was decadent, breakfast burrito and the Belgian waffle.. the lemon curd with the waffle was amazing!! Highly recommend this restaurant!!

    I loved the The Rose Venice when it was simply the The Rose Cafe years ago. However, it is unfortunate the chef doesn’t allow menu items to be modified or even allow substitutions. I was there on 5/20 to celebrate my friend’s birthday and she asked for something on the item she wanted to be removed, and it couldn’t be because of the chef’s rules. What if she were allergic to the extra ingredient? Also, I ordered the Gold’s Standard and the sausage was burnt. Our server graciously took it away and replaced it with another serving which was undercooked. I did appreciate when I asked, the host accommodated my ask for a lovely strawberry dessert with a candle be delivered to my friend. It is definitely not the The Rose Cafe of old that my mother, grandmother and I used to visit regularly. Something is lost. Our server was understated, and I dare say, a little lethargic as far as energy. For the prices, I would have expected a little more.

    Service rushed us by taking away our forks multiple times mid meal and then had to ask for another, clearing plates before we were done, and didn't offer for us to to look at the dessert menu. There were empty tables so not sure what the rush was about. Food was decent but overpriced.

    Very tasty food and friendly and competent service, but relatively expensive for the modest portions, and frankly extortionate valet parking in a neighborhood where street parking is virtually impossible. Lunch for two with no alcohol was certainly no bargain.

    Loved this place, food was amazing we just weren’t able to finish it. Table next to us had two dogs that were allowed to jump on and off the seating bench that led to multiple clouds of dog hair flying into our food and drinks at our Mother’s Day brunch. Manager saw fit to comp 1 of 4 meals which IMO wasn’t enough considering we couldn’t finish our meals.

    I’ve been to rose before and it was good, however for this Mother’s Day it was a terrible experience due to the pre selected menu. The first course was literally sliced avocados with a few rice flakes on it.. second course was very underwhelming with 1 egg and some Korean style carbs/sauce which I’m still not exactly sure what it was. (They had a fish option but ran out by 1:30 pm?) The third and main course was a salad with eggs on a piece of bread. The worst preselected course menu I have ever seen! No protein other than the eggs? Are you serious.. On top of that, I made reservations and they sat us in the front open patio and when I asked to switch to the nicer back outdoor patio with the wall or roses, they said it was full yet every time I went back there, there were 8 open tables. This all cost $280 for 3 people. Never spent that much money on lunch without having a single dish I truly enjoyed.

    Food always good. Absent minded service. But it was Mother’s Day so busy. But still waitress literally never came by the table to check on us ever and took 30 min to pay to leave which was disappointing. Prix fixe was great if a bit on pricey side / enormous portions. Nice pastry and fruit tasting starter for table then 3 groups of choices. Ambience festive. Love this place normally. Recommend on non holiday day.

    The menu for this event was trying so hard that it really lost the meaning of brunch, instead it inflated the "value" of the meal while overpowering each dish with piles of seasoning and flavor combinations that most people don't seek out at a family celebratory meal. My mom was a trooper but this really disappointed me when I had such a great brunch experience here previously.

    I don't review restaurants often but if you're looking for quality food - stay way. Came here for Mother's Day and booked two weeks in advance specifically stating I'd like to sit on the outside patio. Not only did they not seat us at the patio (but seated a family at the patio who checked in after us that said they made a reservation two days ago), they seated us right in front of the open kitchen and our clothes smelled for the entire day. For $70 a person for 7 people, we shared 4 pastries and a handful of fruits for our first dish. We then shared a mezze plate which was enough for 7 people. Then we shared about 10 small slices of strip steak - all cooked well done and one giant block of french toast. This meal cost us a total of $652 after tax and tip. Let that sink in. $652 for a handful of pastries and some overcooked steak. Will never return and will never recommend this place to anyone.

    Went for Mother’s Day Brunch and definitely wouldn’t recommend. Reservations were for 10am and didn’t get seated until 10:45. Never ended up receiving my full meal. Asked for the check and left at 11:45 with only have received the pastry board and biscuit from the Prix Fixe menu. Left hungry and having wasted all morning to just sit around waiting. Bummed as I had been looking forward to visit this restaurant and also have a nice Mother’s Day brunch.

    The rose in Venice went out of their way to provide a horrible Mother’s Day experience. We showed up to our reservation early and the line out the door was indication that they had staffed in properly for the day. The valets in the back were wonderful, but even they indicated that the day was going to go poorly. The host, and I use the word “host”very loosely, was a smarmy and snide man who couldn’t care less about customer service. He literally threatened us with a $25 cancellation fee when we politely inquired how long the wait was going to be. Stop and think about that for a moment; we are going to be charged a cancellation fee for showing up on time and then politely deciding to leave because we don’t want to wait an hour to an hour and a half for our reservation? A call placed to Louisa was completely useless. She hung up after after rudely stating that said she would escalate the matter to “upper management”. What matter? The fact that the restaurant has ridiculous booking, staffing, and cancellation policies? I actually feel terrible for the owners of the rose, because these two “ambassadors” for the restaurant have made us never wanted to come here again and as a result, we won’t be booking our corporate events here as we have done so in the past. I encourage and welcome any response from the Rose. We left her information with Louisa but my expectations are extremely low from this group at this point. My polite suggestion to anyone reading this review is to never, ever make a reservation at this establishment, and if you happen to wander by, you could just inquire if they have availability.

    It was NOT worth the $510 bill at all. They fill you up on bread and dips. We had five people; the "steak" came out and would feed one person, maybe two. The small waffle had to feed 5 people. It was a kid-size waffle covered in too much lemon sauce. It turns out to be about $100 a person ( 3 were kids under 14 ). This was a $150 breakfast AT MOST. Very disappointed. Instead, I should have come with one other person, and that would have been worth it. The meals didn't scale up to the size of the party. I love The Rose but will never come for an event again. And I'll be letting other people know.

    I share this experience to share mostly with the restaurant owner for the purpose of improvement. I love this place. My wife and I just started a new plant based diet so we’re essentially almost vegan. Yeah I know, it can be a PIA to cater to that diet. My expectations were high going to the Rose because I’ve been dining here since I was a little kid and my dad since their original opening in 79’. We experienced an issue with the mandatory Mother’s Day (5/13 Saturday) prix fixe menu in which 1/3 of the courses were vegan. They stated there were no substitutions, then stated there were no modifications period at $70 per person. Then mentioned we could add an a la carte $20 salad on top of the $70 charge instead. 4-5 staff later a woman finally came back and said something along the lines of “I don’t want to get into your story, I have good news” and said they would modify the menu so it would function for our dietary needs. It took so many people to finally come to a decision and they were somewhat standoffish about the whole thing. Our server was kind and stated that because of us they came up with a game-plan for how to tackle the next day (Mother’s Day) so there would be potential solutions for others on their busier day. LA has a lot of vegans and individuals with strict dietary restrictions, like it or not, we’re a melting pot here. After this, we had a pleasant experience and although our server accidentally spilled avocado ceviche on us as she took one of our plates away we laughed it off and just vowed to never come back on a prix fixe menu day or when our diet has become less exclusive. Overall I spent $271 for three people (w/tip) and $20 for parking including tip so I wouldn’t say it was worth the money on this occasion, YMMV.

    OVERRATED! Food is good but under seasoned and they make it a concept that dishes arrive as they are ready but when you get your side dish 20mn before your main course, what kind of a concept is that! So the worst is the value for money: a scallop dish priced $40 for 2 scallops!!!! And you have to order the side dish separately for $20! (The one you get 20mn before your dish!!! 😂😂😂) so $60 for a dish that is so so! No thank you! To add to the experience, my son’s $45 pasta had a shell in it that was so sharp that you could cut carton with it! And it’s so funny also that the waitress came twice to ask us how our food was when we didn’t get anything yet but the bread!!! 😂😂😂 And finally at the end, add another $16 for the parking! Never again for us! Overrated for people who do not mind paying for lousy service and so-so food quality just to be seen at a hype place!

    Decided to bring my mother here for Mexican Mother’s Day. We are happy with everything, the service was absolutely outstanding. The space is very vibrant and green, it has a very calm atmosphere. For dinner appetizers we had “The baller” which had some of the freshest scallops, it was a great definitely recommended. We followed with the crudo which let us sample each items, tuna, shrimp and yellowtail. They had pizza on the menu we went with the pepperoni, last but not least we had the steak with peas it was delicious very well executed. If you’re into drinks definitely try the espresso martini!
