The Rose Plantation
It was just an experience my wife and i will treasure.we were made to feel very welcome and no question was to trite and all were answered with grace and ease. All aspects surrounding our second visit was impeccable! Our food was prepared in a timely manner and of the highest quality. The plantation is a
Reminder of what gracious dining used to be and a beacon for th weary traveler looking to have a quiet uncrowded meal of quality in a space of sale elegance. I especially enjoyed the porches and view of the lake.
Nice atmosphere, BUT, do not get good value for money.
(1) Two small lamb chops does not make 1/2 rack @$30
(2) Waitress forgot two orders of soup.
I did bring My Own Mint sauce because you do not provide it. You only provide mint jelly which is a very poor substitute for most of the world!
Table was great! Food was well prepared and presented! Server was the best ever!!! She really was very good, attentive, and knew the menu very well! We love the place and go as often as we can!
Best dining experience since I moved to the area in 2017. Food and Service were incredible!!
We were very pleased with our overall experience. Took my husband for his birthday, our first visit. From the moment we parked the car you could just feel more and more relaxed. The front desk was very quick and attentive as we walked in the door, and took us to our seats out on the back Veranda that overlooks a beautiful little Lake. Our reservations were early, but it worked out perfect because we could watch the sunset. Our food was excellent, I had filet minion, and my husband had rack of lamb. The presentation on both is very nice. They did have specials, also a full bar with a nice wine selection. And I'm not even going to tell you about the homemade pecan pie and coconut cream pie! Decadent!! Can't wait to take friends back.
Tried Rose Plantation for a second time. We were here for our anniversary a year and 1/2 ago. My wife had an excellent meal, mine without going into detail was a disappointment. At the time our service was terrible. I’m happy to report this time everything was great. Service was excellent as were both of our diners. We do miss the smoke infused filets.
Enjoyed the Rose Plantation for birthdays and anniversaries. Everything has always been excellent! Highly recommend it for a special event or just a joyful night out.
Excellent as usual!
Guest from out of town thoroughly
Enjoyed the evening—from the food, dessert to the piano music.
We were on the outside of main dining room and there were 8 people at a table a few away that were excessively loud and very annoying, someone should of asked them to tone it down or asked them to leave.
It was not expected at this restaurant as beenhere many times with NO issues. I will give it another try in hopes this conduct is handled more appropriately.
Lovely restaurant. Good food. Read about how attractive view from porch was but no lights on the grounds so everything dark outside. Disappointing.
Lovely meal for my birthday. Best restaurant in this area. Will go back soon
It was a treat to have linen tableware, nice dishes, relative quiet and a knowledgeable waiter. One negative that probably has already been addressed: The waitress in training who accompanied our male waiter chewed gum with her mouth open while entering items in the computer.
This was our first time dining at the Rose. Everything about the experience was a surprise given the few options in our area for fine dining. The wait service was outstanding, wine choices were fine, the room was extremely comfortable (noise level, despite a full room was nearly none existent), the the dinner menu provided options for me (vegan) and all were excellent.
Excellent restaurant for fine dining in The Villages Fruitland area. Outstanding atmosphere. Be cautious when walking from parking area to entrance. Needs more lighting and handrails. Food superb. Suggest appetizer pocket purses!!!! chowder soup. The stuffed shrimp as entree. Crab cake a little dry. Good service. Warm welcome from
Beautiful setting especially for for a memorable night. The food was delicious—the best meal we have had in the Villages. We have recommended the Rose Plantation to several people.
I booked my reservation solely based on location and open table. I am so glad! This restaurant is fabulous. The setting is lovely and the rooms are beautiful in this historic house. My friend had the crab cakes....they were excellent....I had chicken piccata and it was delicious. Our server, Carrie, was perfect. Just the right touch of attentive and non intrusive, friendly and pleasant. Loved this experience!!
Probably the best place in this area. This area could use a couple of seriously good restaurants!
Delicious food rest service and wonderful ambiance love this restaurant
Eveerything was excellant. Planning next visit. Will reconmend to all friends.
Loved the restaurant. Salad was beautiful, but the dressing was very heavy overpowering the spinach.
Salmon seemed overcooked as it was very firm and may have been previously frozen. I liked the place enough to try it again as the ambiance and service was wonderful. Next time, i would ask for the dressing on the side and order a steak!
Our overall experience was great until we read the card that came with the bill asking if we wanted to join the Rose Plantation mailing list.
It was fine until we were ask the question “did we lived in the Villages!!” We ask what difference does that make????
Would it make a difference if we came from the Villages?? Very offended that you would even ask that question.
It is a great place for a special occasion. Go early if you can to get a table on he porch.
We had a wonderful evening including a table on the porch and great service by our server, Taylor. Our meals included prime rib, a trio of fish selections, a crab cake special and a filet along with drinks and desserts. No complaints from any of us about the food, service or the experience. We plan to dine at Rose Plantation again.
The food at rose Plantation is exceptional.
This restaurant is a joy to visit And a hidden treasure. Hour over all dining experience was relaxing and very satisfying.
Service was great. Food was excellent. Sat on the porch, with a great view. Only detraction was the noise level. Party of 8 Villagers arrived and did not hesitate to use their loud New Jersey voices. Manager was aware of the situation but could not do anything about it.
The food was good but not outstanding, as would be expected, with the high prices. I started with the seafood cocktail, which consisted of 3 shrimp and some lump crabmeat. While very good, it was also $18.00. I had the blackened scallops over vegetable risotto as my entrée. The scallops were overcooked and, I suspect, not fresh diver scallops. The risotto was delicious but the only vegetable I noticed was butternut squash. The entrée was $38.00. A quartino of sauvignon blanc was $14.00. The dessert, chocolate lava cake, was excellent and made in-house. $8.00 I think. My wife started with a caesar salad which was enough to serve 3 people. Order the half salad instead. She had a 12 oz prime rib as her entrée. It was perfectly cooked and delicious. I believe it was $36.00. Our total bill, including tax and tip, was $187.00.
The dining room is decorated with taste and the sound absorbing materials worked well. The piano player was excellent and afforded a very pleasant atmosphere. The service was excellent. It is a nice place for special occasions if you don't mind the excessive prices. Having worked in Manhattan for many years, and having eaten at the finest restaurants there, I can say that NYC prices have arrived in Fruitland Park. Would I dine there again? Yes, but only for a special occasion. Saturday happened to be our 34th wedding anniversary.
The Prime Rib was to die for and had I not intended to try the Banana Cream pie, I would have ordered the larger portion. As it was,it was just right !
The food here is amazing. Consistently good. I had fished stuffed with crabmeat. Yum
The entire experience was great. Adele was excellant. Food was quality. Top notch.
David took great care of us.
It was our 30th anniversary and wanted something special. We found it at the Rose Plantation! We had been there a couple of weeks before for lunch, but this time we went for dinner. Gerhardt was our server. He was so nice, so gentle and thoughtful. Seemed like Michelin-level service. The food was out of this world. My husband does not eat beef because of health concerns so there was wonderful chicken piccata for him. He loved it. I had the rack of lamb. If I want to really get spoiled, I get lamb. It was fabulous. I'm a gardener, so I loved the roses. The grounds are so pretty with the pond and all. Very, very nice all the way around. We'll be back!
We loved our dinner! We all would recommend this fine restaurant. The baby grand piano player was perfect to compliment our birthday celebration.
Nice birthday celebration. Good food and Tim was an excellent server.
This is a very nice restaurant what is this price point is higher than other restaurants in the area. Our service was OK on our visit and it is because the restaurant was very busy that night. I ordered the crap Craigs which they highly recommend it and they were very good but notVery warm. The ambience was very good.
Food was delicious, and the service was exceptional. The owners are very nice, professional, and accommodating.
Second visit within 2 weeks. 1st time food was ok. This time food was only fair. Suggest you improve your menu . Priced rather high for food.
The food and service were excellent. The only really odd thing is we were seated right next to the very busy kitchen and entry doors when there was plenty of open seating. This was quite off putting.
Excellent restaurant . Good service and a place to go for a real special occaison.
It was our second time dining at the Rose Plantation. The first time was excellent. The food was hot and the prime rib was tender. On January 21st when we celebrated our anniversary the food was warm not hot and the prime was nowhere near as tender or flavorful as the first time we dined with you.
Will go back for sure. Might even try the lunch light fair next time.
We were celebrating a birthday and the owners had a birthday card ready for us when we arrived!
