First visit for my beautiful wife and me. Wonderful bottle of Wine. We had Steak entree and a Salmon entree. Both were great. Sides of Asparagus and Bake Potato were the best. We tried the Shrimp Cocktail Appetizer, decent size shrimp with a Spicy Cocktail Sauce. We both enjoyed, but pretty spicy. Ribeye was cooked perfectly, Mushrooms as an added taste. We were never rushed and the piano player was very entertaining. Both of us ordered Dessert only able to eat a couple forkfuls, but we took them home for the next day. Outstanding flavor.
Overall, a wonderful experience. highly recommend the Rose Plantation.
Elegant surroundings, easy listening piano music in the background, lovely table setting, fantastic food. Not inexpensive but worth it. Value for money. Go!!!!
This was a great find. One thing I would change. There are faux flower arrangements of roses on each table, Please remove the cotton boll from them.
We chose Rose Plantation to celebrate our anniversary. My husband had the weekend Prime Rib special and I had the Angeloni special (with crab). Both were delicious. We already have our reservation for Thanksgiving dinner with family.
Enjoyed a very nice early dinner at The Rose Plantation. Table for 2 at 5:15. Promptly seated. Ordered drinks. Both very good. Apps salad and dinner were all 1st rate. The Blackened/peppered Mahi Mahi was too spicy for my guest so they quickly produced a second entre that turned out just right for said guest. All staff were excellent, including a trainee. Will return in the future.
Potatoes and spinach tasted like they sat in a too hot steam table since lunchtime. Duck was crispy but dry. Not an easy feat with such a fatty bird. Veal was amazing. Bisque was superb. Caprese salad had no basil. Service was OUTSTANDING
Thank you for your feedback. Our goal is nothing less than perfection. If there is anything the slightest bit to your dissatisfaction, please inform us immediately at the restaurant. That is the only way we can find and correct the problem. Not only do we want your food to be 5 star, but we also want to ensure other guests are not experiencing the same problems.
Wonderful food great service but very expensive
Server was knowledgeable and attentive. Food was cooked and seasoned well. Would have been 5 stars but our side dishes we’re warm not hot.
Thank you for the feedback. I wish we had known at the time so that we could have corrected the problem immediately.
There is no Leonard here! Only Arlene McIntosh! It was my birthday dinner bought for me by a friend! Great time!
Colossal crab cakes were not colossal. Mostly creamy filler with small pieces of crab meat. Owner agreed with me and removed crab cakes from bill. Prime rib floating in juices. Vegetables served with meat, should have been placed on separate plate. Dress code by couple near me was not adhered to---they were both wearing shorts.
Crab cakes are 95% crab. Due to skyrocketing crab prices, we blended colossal with jumbo 50/50. Both are high quality crab, but the jumbo crab is smaller, more granular. We only use enough filler to hold the cakes together while cooking. We will return to 100% colossal. You were sitting next to the Relaxed Dining Section. We apologize that the did not enjoy your experience. In the future, allow us to correct any problem by immediately bringing it to our attention.
There were 4 of us for dinner. When food arrived it was warm, but not as hot as it should have been. Two of us sent it back and when it arrived second time was hot and very good. Felt that for a restaurant of this caliber we should not have had to do that.
Thank you for your note. We are looking into it.
My husband had the prime rib and I had the fish special, both were excellent. Our server was attentive and kept all the table items filled. We split a slice of key lime pie which was to die for! Will definitely go back again.
Thank you. So happy that you had a wonderful experience.
Overall we had a enjoyable time at the Rose Plantation. The food was over priced for both the quality and quantity. I ordered the 8 oz filet medium and it came out medium well. The service was very attentive. The crab cakes were delicious but overpriced again based on the size.
We apologize that you were not totally delighted with your experience. If anything is not perfect, please let us know immediately so that we can correct it. Crab prices have been going up $5 per pound per month for several months.
Very cozy homey atmosphere waiter was informative and engaging
We have always had good experiences at Rose Plantation before, but we were shocked at how bad the food was this time. My husband’s chicken Marsala arrived cold, and my Caesar salad with salmon was dry as a bone. I had to ask for more dressing, but, unfortunately, there was no help for the dry salmon, which I gave up on eating. What a disappointment. I was shocked at how different the pasta purses were from the times I’ve had them before. The sauce was different, not the brandy cream sauce I remember and which the menu describes. This sauce was full of garlic pieces. Even the Riesling was warm and way too sweet. At $10 a 6 oz. glass, this is inexcusable. We have already made a reservation there for Thanksgiving, but now we’re wondering if we should rethink that.
I apologize for your poor experience. Please always tell us immediately of any problem so that we can find the cause and correct it for all guests. In this case, we think we have identified what may have happened with the chicken and the salmon and have made adjustments. Other items are less clear. Pasta purse reviews have been outstanding and we have not changed the sauce. We are buying the same reisling and taking it out of the same cooler. Will keep an eye on these items.
Nice meal in a beautiful setting. The special of the day, blackened prime rib, was very tender but really did not seem to have been carved from a freshly roasted rib. It was better than some I’ve had other places, but not quite what I expected. The gravy actually detracted from the dish.
A lovely gem of a restaurant. Not cheap but superior to anything inside The Villages. Top notch food. Top notch service
First time there was great and enjoyable will be back for sure..
This was our 25th wedding anniversary and the dinner and experience delightful!
Love this place!!!!! Superb service, food, location and setting.
absolutely gorgeous and has fantastic food. Best beef I ever had. the service is very good but be prepared, this is a leisurely experience.
A great dining experience. The dress code is also a great addition. Will visit again soon.
My husband took me to The Rose Plantation for my 75th Birthday,we were seated in the porch with a view of the lake which was lovely. We ordered drinks and sat for awhile and we were not rushed to order oour meal, when we did order I had the Queen rack of lamb and my husband had the prime rib and we both thoroughly enjoyed our meal and after that I ordered a cappuccino which came nice and hot just the way I like it.The waitress was efficient and pleasant and the piano playing was very nice and not too loud.We enjoyed it so much we will definitely be going again
This was our first time and our 59th anniversary. We were most pleased with our experience, service great and food was just right! The price was a little high, However we will be back on special occasions. It was indeed a rememberable time we will share in the future.
The food is very good. However one guest had cold food and sent it back to be reheated. I had duck although tasty it was dry in areas and overcooked. Most importantly table #202 is so cold it is difficult to enjoy your meal. I will go back but will never sit at that table again.
Service was great, food a disappointment. Hike from parking to door also a negative. Sand everywhere. No sidewalks.
Food was delicious. Service was fantastic. The ambiance was wonderful. The only reason I did not give it a full 5 stars is that some of the food is not from scratch - however - they do manage to elevate it to a delicious level.
Roast Duck excellent, as was the bread and butter service. Well paced, unhurried dinner. Very nice ambience with live piano music. Server somewhat extended due to number of guests, but courteous and friendly. Have been multiple times and never disappointed.
The ambiance was outstanding. I enjoyed my entree but my husband did not like his. The house chardonnay was not very good.
It was our 47th anniversary, the restaurant, food and service were impeccable. Absolutely loved it. We did ask for dining by window in my reservation comments but did not get and thought that perhaps we would have been offered a complimentary free dessert or something to recognize this special occasion but nothing. We will be back again.
Lovely Friday nite out. Piano player was terrific!
Expensive diner type food, doesn’t seem they cook anything in-house.
We discovered this place by accident and wow what a find.
Everyone was friendly and the service was excellent the food was excellent we will be going back
Daughter's birthday. The place to go for special occasions. As usual, food and service was top notch.
We went for my daughter's birthday and had a wonderful experience. Our waitress Linda made it extra special. The food and service was excellent
Pasta purse appetizer was excellent. Last time we went there was a brownish sauce on them. This time it was more of a cream sauce with lots of garlic. The caprese salad was fair, at best. It was more a salad with some mozzerella balls thrown in. The cheese smelled and tasted like it was off. The Angelino, roast duck, and risotto were excellent. The peach.pie was fair. The vanilla ice cream was awful! Waitress, Linda, could not have been sweeter or kinder. Grounds need attention.
Main course was great as expected. Cherry pie was good but seemed smaller than before.
We were able to reserve the private dinning room and I was able to work with the chef on our 7 course meal to fit our experience. It was great!!! Jay did a wonderful job of guiding me through the evening and the owners were wonderful!!! Highly recommend this place and will definitely be back
Very good. Beautiful view great service and good
Great ambiance. Noise level was for very nice for conversation, very nice.
Had a seared fish filet, one of the best ever. Service efficient and fun.
