Food and setting of the pub was lovely. However the interior was a bit cold and not the most welcoming. Just ok. Just nothing ‘spesh’
Service was ok with a couple of mistakes/changes not made from the kitchen, when brought out, and then the waiter chap was a little clueless. Hey ho. Young staff perhaps.
The lead waitress was polite though even if she did finish each menu change suggestion with “if that’s ok with you”. Eg we don’t have any of this dish, if that’s ok with you, and we will be substituting this or that with parsnips, if that’s ok with you etc! Polite still all the same.
All round I poss would return again, however may also look at other options too.
Sunday lunch for 4 people all choosing different options. Everyone enjoyed their meals and service attentive. Good choice of beer and ciders. Meals also reasonably priced
Really good service, food was very nice! Well worth the money.
Very welcoming pub
The carvery is no longer! Instead the Sunday lunch is brought to the table and the lamb wasn’t value for money. Some of the vegetables were not liked by all which is why a carvery is preferred. Unfortunately will not return as not to our taste and much preferred how it was before.
Very good food, very good value and service. We felt a bit ceamped in the bar area. Next time will request a table by the window.
Excellent service menu nice mixture of pub classics good range of ales and wines
Possibly one of the nicest most tender tastiest steaks I've had in a long time my partner had the fish and chips she said the batter was very light and crispy overall an excellent meal. Staff were friendly courteous and helpful would definitely go again and again
We travelled down from York to visit family and had a lovely meal at The Rose. Set in the tranquil village of Baxterely, this restaurant does not disappoint. Highly recommended.
Good was very good, well presented. Excellent friendly service.
Even though the pub was busy. Food arrived within 10mins of ordering. A very nice meal.
Food was below average and they mixed our order. Wouldn't recommend
Nice meal & attentive service. I had the tandoori monkfish which was delicious. My husband did have an upset stomach in the night however-suspect the tartare sauce.
Food was piping hot all freshly cooked couldnt fault it hreat service and staff were friendly and looked after us will definately book again
All loved our meals. Top quality. Staff were really efficient and helpful.
Really yummy home cooked Sunday Roast in a traditional pub. The extra sides we ordered (cauliflower cheese etc) were a little small for the price but we didn't mind. We will return for another nice meal with family and friends
Pub is very dark inside with uneven flooring, steps that are difficult to see.. table was sticky, menu was covered in bits of stuck on food, the Sunday roast was Luke warm at best, and paying extra £3 for a side order that used to be included in Carvery choice (pre Covid) is disgraceful, but at least hot!! Very disappointed by the whole meal
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and there was plenty of it. Staff were attentive and prompt with the service. We will definitely be going back.
New owners so was a bit apprehensive but didn't need to be. Very friendly staff, good food and great value.
Lovey food with excellent service in a beautiful setting
Great food and service just rather be seated in bar not the restaurant which felt very cold and echoey
Excellent Sunday lunch. Will definitely be returning
Lovely food, they do it a little bit different due to covid I'm assuming, the fact I only got 2 roast potatoes, 1 parsnip and had to ask for a Yorkshire pudding wasn't very good I don't think the portions were quite the same. I asked for some hand sanitizer and there wasn't any available for me at all. None available when you enter or leave the venue either which surprised me a little bit. Thankfully after some digging around I found some in the car. Overall though it was okay.
Brilliant food and attentive staff, very helpful and made sure we had everything we needed! Delicious food, thank you
A great country pub, with quality food in a clean and tidy environment.
Really enjoyed the meal apart from one little niggle. Chips were over cooked. Service and staff were excellent especially Kelly
Fabulous food and great service. The children’s menu is fantastic- not just processed food as you come to expect from many places these days.
I have been to The Rose Inn a few times just for drinks, however this time I took my family for a meal there. The food was really good and had excellent service, its a lovely pub both inside and outside. On summers day it gets busy as its popular with people who know it and dogs are also welcome. Highly recommend.
The food is absolutely delicious, we’ll cooked, we’ll presented and excellent value for money. Space is a little tight in the bar if you want to dine with your dog, but the staff were great and very accommodating. Would definitely recommend and return again.
Food was average, sadly we were charged extra for the cream on the sundae which was apparently free.
We travel out to different pubs for Sunday lunch every week and this was our first time at The Rose and must say I’m so glad we did , it was up there with the best we have ever had! Warm and friendly staff and in a lovely setting we will definitely be returning 👌🏼
Very good, the beer was great the food was great service was great
Menu good value, nice ambiance and staff very efficient, look forward to them selling Bass again. Will definitely return.
Very good food in a quiet country setting, I never left a morsel of food which was fresh and hot.
Ordering a table was easy and quick!
Food was excellent and plenty of it will definitely be visiting again
Best fish and chips ever ... lovely place good food good service
The menu was very limited all 6 of us was very disappointed . It was our first family meal out since the beginning of the first lockdown so we was really looking forward to it, before lockdown we had been to the rose a few times and the food was lovely,
On this occasion 3 of us had the fish and chips… the fish was really overcooked and was hard and greasy, the chips was dark brown and inedible, 1 had pie and chips hardly any chicken in the pie chips again very overcooked, 2 had burgers that were disappointing, we’re not people that complain but on this occasion we feel that we need to.
Overall everyone’s meal was was very poor quality,
Can’t see us returning anytime soon.
A really nice place to sit outside and enjoy your drink, staff very friendly, the food was absolutely beautiful and very tasty, also very good value for money, a really enjoyable day .
The staff are very helpful and welcoming, the starter and sweet we’re delicious but unfortunately the main was not, I had the belly draft and it was tough to cut through and very chewy! My partner had the pie and said it was nice but he wouldn’t have it again! I would go back there and try another main though.
Excellent food freshly cooked to order, polite efficient service will definitely be going again
