We waited over an hour for our food.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. The shrimp, grits and crab cakes are exceptional. I added a catfish fillet to my order and it was over the top great. I tried a new champagne drink, The Lone ranger and it was really good. I will be back this weekend to try the seafood platter.
I am not a reviewer but I had to write about the good time I had at The Roof. I actually had fried chicken and it was a lot of food and very good. I went home with seconds. My guest ordered something different so we can taste test. The blacken chicken pasta was a close second to fried chicken. For my birthday they waiter brought out their signature desert bread pudding. The rum sauce was perfect. I ended the night with drinks outside by the lake. Need another visit soon.
During the week great date night location. Food and drinks were very good and the personalized attention is stellar. Make time to go on the patio to enjoy the romantic view and drinks. A well kept gem!
First time here I had firecracker shrimp and gumbo. I came in only to met friends for drinks and small bites but on my next visit I'm definitely having dinner. The menu selection looks tasty.
Everything was great. We had an engagement dinner here and they did a great job. My fiancé and future in laws were surprised at how beautiful the venue was as well as the service and food. Very happy!
The food just took entirely too long to come out and was not seasoned.
We enjoyed our meal at this establishment. Our server, Eric was attentive and provided outstanding service. My daughter really enjoyed her Seafood and Andouille Sausage Gumbo and the Truffle Fries. I had a Bourbon Glazed Pork Chop with String Beans and Potatoes. They have an elevated outdoor seating area which has a nice view of the lake and park behind this shopping center. Our table also had a nice view as well.
Fried chicken, Mac and cheese, and collard greens was very good. The portions are huge, I had a doggy bag. Great bartenders and nice staff.
My new favorite spot. Boudin balls and gumbo is amazing. The ambience is incredible especially the patio. Prompt and attentive service.
We had a great dining experience at The Roof. I am thankful to my friends who recommend this place. The food was excellent. I had the Pork chop and beet salad while my date had the seafood plater and cheesecake. I will definitely return.
Food too pricey for what's offered. Food was old and freezer burnt. Gumbo lacked seasoning, mac n cheese was soupy, fish not fully cooked and brisket was tough and discolored.
I was looking forward to visiting The Roof because it was recommended by a friend. We were seated and immediately I noticed red lipstick on my glass. My date noticed his glass was filthy as well. We requested clean glasses that took about 10 minutes to receive in an empty restaurant, there was only one other couple present. We decided to have the brunch buffet. We literally had to go through 10 plates to find a clean one. Food was stuck on the plates. The wait staff was very inattentive. Horrible experience for $81, I'll never go to the Roof again. AND, my friend has lost all credibility when it comes to recommendations.
It was our Anniversary... the ambiance, food and service was superb. I don’t know our waite’s name but he made our night very memorable.
Very nice restaurant.
Great Wait Staff!
Food was good.
Presentation was awesome of the food.
Patio is great!
Beautiful restaurant and vibe. Seafood platter was very tasty. For summer I have been experimenting with champagne cocktails and found a really good one here, the Rose Gold. It was very refreshing. The outdoing seat is great once the sun is down. Nice breeze.
Wonderful experience. I went here to celebrate a milestone in my healthcare recovery and the extra care and attention to details moved me to tears of joy. The food was excellent and the Duckhorn wine was a great match. This will be a dinner I will always remember.
This place is fantastic. We celebrated our engagement here and everything was perfect. They were able to seamlessly accommodate our large party and everyone loved the food. I love their stuffed wings and my fiancé really enjoyed the lamb chops.
I am glad I took my friends' suggestion to have my birthday dinner party here. We had a cocktail hour before dinner. The Boudin balls and cab cakes were really good. For dinner I couldn't choose between the seafood platter and ribeye so I ordered both. The portions are hugs I had plenty to take home. I had a signature pineapple margarita for my birthday and it was perfect. See you soon at The Roof!
Food and service was really good. I surprised my fiancé with dinner party and the The Roof did great. Everything from planning to execution was handled with ease. They were really good with handling a large table with various food dietary restrictions. We had a limited menu of salmon, chicken and steak that was very good. The bread pudding in lieu of a birthday cake was amazing.
The lamb chops are exceptional. They were cooked to perfection. The new house Italian wine was a great accompaniment.
Best gumbo in the city. The mojitos were really good, i felt like i was in the tropics. The waitress was very helpful with suggestions. After dinner drinks on the patio was the perfect ending to a good date night. The chef came out and spoke with us and he was very accommodating.
It is a great place for Happy Hour! The drinks were amazing! The food was just ok. Nothing that I would brag about. I would recommend for great drinks and amtosphere. I really loved the live band...great touch! Music prior to band was a bit loud... I will return for Happy Hour!
We have been driving by this place for a while and saying we need to try it out. Here are the sad results.
The food quality did not match the price point. Presentation was OK. Brussel sprouts were the best thing we had, with calamari coming in second. Bowl the shrimp and grits were served in had a large chip on the inside edge. The steak I ordered medium rare came out very close to well done, I informed the server whom seemed to be unconcerned. When calling the server over for this he had been talking outside on the patio with possibly his manager/owner. My wife got his attention as he re-entered and he gestured he will be over later. He finished with his manager and then came over. Gave us a real feeling of we aren't concerned with the customer vibe. Any manager/owner should be willing to pause their activity when one of the few customers is needing the servers attention. I patiently waited to finish the second half of my steak until he came over to take a look. Toward the end of our meal there was an employee on the patio smoking whom then hocked a loogie on the way back inside. Needless to say that completed my wife's meal and any consideration she had to give the place another try.
This is a hidden gem. Thanks to the chef for making a great vegan meal. Amazing anniversary dinner. The desert platter was super good.
My third time here and can't wait to come back. My favorite waitress provided great service as always!
Thank you for taking great care of my staff. The food and wine pairing was great. We will be back soon for the Shrimp Pasta and the Sweet potato cheesecake!
I love the Boudin Balls and Firecracker Shrimp Tacos! The Blood Orange Margarita was great. Enjoyed the venue and patio.
It was a beautiful venue. The dood was ok. They didn’t seem prepared to make enough food for the buffet. The food was ok, not worth the cost.
Father's Day at The Roof was a huge disappointment. We really wanted to like this place, but it didn't happen for my family and I. Made reservations for Brunch this past Sunday. The first disappoint was when we were told we could not order any brunch items from the BRUNCH menu. The Roof only had a buffet available. I am not a fan of buffet-styled meals. So, imagine the discontent when my family realized this was the only option. This information should have been relayed before hand. I spoke to several different employees regarding the reservation due to a mix up with my reservation getting cancelled on Open Table. I should have took this as a sign to dine elsewhere. We were seated and immediately had issues with ordering. A waiter named "Andrew" claiming to be the Manager came over to assist. Andrew stated they were short-staffed on Father's Day, and only had two cooks in the kitchen. He over explained to us the "Patrons" about having to serve over 300 people that day and not having enough staff to accommodate the crowd. There was no bloody Mary mix, Andrew had to send someone to go buy it. There was no apple juice, no grenadine for a Shirley temple, my daughter settled for a sprite, after 20 minutes. I was brought empty salt & pepper shakers to my table after waiting 10 minutes for them. The shakers were nasty with dried up, leftover food particles on them. The bottom of one didn't even have a plug in it. Never received the tarter sauce I requested. The food was terrible. Most of the food was cold, and not being kept warm. This was a disaster. We did receive bottomless mimosas, which was the only highlight of the meal. We were later told by another employee the Manager/Owner was out of town. Andrew was pretending to be the Manager. Andrew applied an "automatic gratuity" of about 18% to our check. We didn't get good food, or service. Yet, we were forced to pay a gratuity. RIDICULOUS! I truly hope The Roof works out all the kinks. Until then, I will not be back.
Visited this establishment for my anniversary & was not pleased. Upon arrival our table was not ready but yet a representative for "The Roof" reached out to me an hour or two ahead of time to confirm reservation & stated to have table ready. However we were not readily seated, we were asked to have a seat up front as if they needed to locate reservation & get table ready. We were never greeted or acknowledged our anniversary, the server served us with warm water & filthy dirty silverware not to mention the bread that was brought to table while we waited on food was say old stale bread. My husbands food came first which was good however i ordered the fried chicken, collard greens & truffle mac n cheese. The chicken was over fried, the greens tasted as if they came from a can & the mac n cheese was just awful.
We will definitely be visiting again
Superb service and large portions
I ordered cheesecake and received mush sweet potatoes. I ordered the desert to go and didn’t see the cheese cake Until I was home. Called the same night and I’m still waiting on the situation to be resolved.
So I made a reservation to celebrate our wedding anniversary and when I made the reservation I specifically requested to have a special anniversary dessert, well that never got to our table. The waiter was nice but took forever to bring our food, even to refill our glasses with water, the prices are ridiculously high, I mean the food was delicious but come on $21 for a half bowl of pasta? and an 8oz glass of mojito for $12 that's just ridiculously expensive in my opinion. They don't have a decent menu for kids and we did take our 3 year old son, so I ordered a chicken noodle soup for him and the waiter did not explain on how that soup was, it ended up being super spicy for my child he didn't even eat it and of course I still had to pay for it. The patio in the back was nice and the ambiance too but that's about it, they have a nice view of the lake on the back of the restaurant but other than that and the taste of the food, I would say those were the only two things I liked the rest no. So in my conclusion we will not be returning to this place ever again.
Amazing food and amazing service nice place to hear great jazz
The food was delicious. The Roof is very upscale and nice for the grown and mature. i love coming

The Roof has the best food and decor in town. The Salmon and Rib eye was the best I’ve had. The live Jazz was so relaxing and we had a wonderful time. I recommend The Roof. Thanks for a great time.
Best Gumbo in the city. Thanks for a good evening of food and drinks.
Fried chicken was great! Chill spot! Good servers, very nice and attentive.
The food was excellent. It was a great dinner for my parent's 50th anniversary. The bread pudding was a delight.
