Not impressed at all the food was okay
We came here to celebrate my father's birthday and we were impressed. The service was excellent and accommodating. The kids selection was plentiful. The seafood platter and crispy fish made my father's day. Thank you staff for the birthday song and dessert. Bread pudding is really good.
Brunch was really good. The French toat and chicken was perfect. The selection of food was amazing. My vegetarian friends thought there was ample selections non meat eaters. The bottomless flavored mimosas capped off a good Sunday outing.
Great overall experience. The food was wonderful. Love the shrimp, grits and crab cakes. Drinks refreshing. Blood orange margarita my new favorite.
I was 30 mins late and frustrated when I arrived. While at the bar the bartender noticed my annoyance and really went out of his way to calm me down. By the time I made it my table I was in a great mood from the wonderful service. My waitress was a good sent and her suggestion to have the Corn and Crab soup was spot on. The Filet was tender, juicy and flavorful. Thank you. Will be back.
I will be back soon. Food and drinks were good. Live music was next level. all around good night.
Was my first time and I was very disappointed in the lack of service and the food selection. I expected better from a $30 brunch than to have packaged waffles and meatballs from Sam's, scorched rice, never saw any eggs or gumbo, and few crawfish swimming around in packaged gravy is NOT etouffee. It was also very tacky to serve the cheap "nugget" cuts of catfish. I expected better from what I thought was supposed to be a more upscale restaurant. If you open at 11am, then be ready to serve your guests at that time, otherwise, open later so you can properly prepare.
This was a 1st time experience for my husband and I. We tried to book last year on Valentine’s Day, but it was full. The ambience for a romantic dinner was great. However, the cost of the dinner for 2 was way overpriced! Now I know why most of the guests were at the bar instead of in the dining room. The men servers were dress for the occasion, thumbs up for that. One female server had on pants similar to sweatpants. Really, for a $150 meal. We really didn’t agree with a $28 gratuity being added to our meal for ordinary service. If we return, it certainly won’t be on a special, overpriced occasion. It was a somewhat disappointing experience.
Was very disappointed because of the set menu. I had a party of 8. There was a party next to me of approx. 6 and they were allowed to order off the regular menu. My money was just as good as theirs and I don’t appreciate the discrimination!!!!!! The other party was Vince Young. I could care less about his so called status!!!!
Special valentine menu offered average food that was very expensive for what I could get from the Cheesecake Factory at half the price.
Drinks were horrible. Service and food was ok. Doors opened late.
This place has potential but they need to work on having better service. It about 20 mins for someone to help serve us. The wait for the food was long as well as the quality of the food was not up to par. They have a very nice ambiance. Thursday’s is when they have band (they were awesome). But the customer service was not there. I hope they make some serious changes because I think it is a great place for sugarland.
Had a great time with the lady! The waitress was excellent! Will be returning soon.
I had a wonderful time at this place. The shrimp and grits are by far my favorite dish. The ambience is incredible. I hope to return one day when the weather is better to experience their rooftop seating. The serves were super attentive and they were helpful in helping me decide on getting the shrimp and grits. Loved the crab cake as well.
Fried chicken taste like home. Brussel Sprouts are a must have. Not a fan of them but was trying to be healthy and I am glad I did. Great date night. Service was on point and thanks for the surprise desert!
We had excellent seating and the service was very good. We shared that we were were celebrating milestone and they went far and beyond to make it a special evening. Everything was great, especially the salmon and filet.
Brunch was really good and lots to choose from. The Banana Foster French Toast was my favorite.
Wonderful atmosphere and good food. Nice bartender and server. I cleaned my plate.
My new favorite spot. I can't say enough of the great time we had. I'm not a fan of grits but I ate their shrimp and grits and couldn't get enough. The 'peach mangol' mimosa is my new favorite sunday drink, no more orange juice.
The chicken, waffles, and shrimp ettouffee was really good. We had a large party and most of the guest were not timely and despite being too late for our reservation the staff went far and beyond to accommodate our party. Thank you for making my birthday special. I will be back for dinner soon,
This experience was more than I expected. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Steak and eggs were perfect. The sauce they use to grill the steak was incredible. I need that recipe. My husband had the buffet and I was tempted by his endless plates of cajun goodies. I did have a piece of his catfish and gumbo. Both were very good.
Extremely slow service. Over priced for the quality of food you get. Bad tasting food. I mean everything we ordered was subpar. We didn't want to complain, but when the manager came by our table we told him about our experience. He did nothing to try to make our experience right, so we paid the check, tipped the server and vowed to never come back.
Food took too long to come, fried chicken had no flavor, and it was hot and too dark.
It was my wife’s Birthday - very disappointing!!
Dinner was great. Chicken taste just lime moms. It was my husbands birthday. The servers were extra attentive. Will be back soon.
This is a beautiful restaurant and the food is just as good. The seafood pasta was really good. After dinner we stayed for drinks on the patio.
ROMANTIC DINNER! Great date night. We shared a seafood platter and Bourbon pork chop. The Dirty rice is incredible. We had stuff wings to go.
Visiting friends and decided to come to a local spot. Many vegetarian options. Spinach Ravioli and spring rolls were very tasty and filling. Most places I'm stuck with veggies and salads but not here. Great choice.
The service was horrible, the food took an hour and a half and was less than pleasing. I was horribly dissatisfied with the bday dinner I planned for myself and will not be returning.
Very good atmosphere. Soft jazz music playing in background. Brunch was delicious. Excellent waitstaff.
Absolutely amazing.... Wonderful atmosphere great food
Service was very good and we had excellent seating .,
However I shared with waitress it was special
occasion 66 birthday nothing special done for us !
Also we are not Southern so I not sure about grits collard greens and several rice dishes at an upscale brunch !
This place is amazing located in sugarland Texas. I have not been to a better place with my family and friends. The Lamb chops, salmon and lobster ravioli were delicious. The view of the lake is the only rooftop in town to were you can eat and look at a lake. The live jazz band was awesome. I’ll be back soon
The Roof was outstanding. The service was great. Food was excellent. The Ribeye was seasoned perfect. I will be back this week. Very attentive.
Thanks to The Roof for the delicious food and live music. The rib eye and gumbo was the best I’ve every had. I will be back.
We had a great birthday celebration. Beautiful venue. The staff went out their way to make sure we had a wonderful experience. We had the shrimp pasta, fried chicken, gumbo and rib eye. Everything was so tasty especially the gumbo.
Food was good, Ambiance is on point comfortable, relaxing & cozy. My drinks were superb. However my waitress was non - attentive and it wasn't a busy night. I'm going to give it another try this weekend.
We waited over an hour for our food.
The food was amazing and the atmosphere was great. The shrimp, grits and crab cakes are exceptional. I added a catfish fillet to my order and it was over the top great. I tried a new champagne drink, The Lone ranger and it was really good. I will be back this weekend to try the seafood platter.
I am not a reviewer but I had to write about the good time I had at The Roof. I actually had fried chicken and it was a lot of food and very good. I went home with seconds. My guest ordered something different so we can taste test. The blacken chicken pasta was a close second to fried chicken. For my birthday they waiter brought out their signature desert bread pudding. The rum sauce was perfect. I ended the night with drinks outside by the lake. Need another visit soon.
During the week great date night location. Food and drinks were very good and the personalized attention is stellar. Make time to go on the patio to enjoy the romantic view and drinks. A well kept gem!
