creamy rosemary-thyme risotto tossed with fox's farm artisan mushrooms and served with your choice of: 4oz filet, 6oz salmon or sauteed shrimp
8oz pan seared filet topped with garlic-herb butter, black pepper-truffle fries
10 oz bone-in pork chop, collard greens, mashed potatoes, and red eye gravy
Always great! It's our favorite brunch in Raleigh.
First time trying for dinner. Very impressed. Cast iron steak had excellent and flavorful sear. The brussel sprouts, burrata salad and chicken skewer small plates were all tasty although the chicken was very spicy. Salmon and swordfish entrees were great too. Kids said best gin & tonic in town. Key lime pie was delicious but TINY (more like tartlet size). Will definitely go back.
Great food, atmosphere, service and music. 😃
The Rockford didn't just land on Raleigh Magazine's 2021 top 25 best dishes list (September issue), but they landed on the cover—for a reason! Go forth and eat here often, you won't regret it.
I went for brunch and it was completely worth the hype!
I ordered Tepuy donuts to start, highly recommend. They had plenty of options for brunch cocktails including an iced coffee, super good. I can’t wait to go for dinner!
This was absolutely fantastic.
Great experience from cocktails to entrees! Very attentive staff and delicious food!
Overall the Rockford was very good. Dinner could have been hotter, temperature wise, but was still delicious. A bit pricier than others, but would still go back.
Food was good and the service was great. Can you ask for more?
Birthday brunch with delicious food, can’t go wrong.
We had great cocktails and our server was very knowledgeable about the ingredients of one and made a great recommendation. The blueberry burrata salad was soooo good and creative. The ahi tuna was yummy and the bread pudding outstanding! Great atmosphere and service! Our second time there and we will go again!
Very creative dishes - refreshing experience compared to most restaurants - great vibe - interesting menu and friendly staff - highly recommended
Two private tables outside - perfect for those concerned about eating near others during the pandemic! Excellent flavors accompanied by excellent staff.
Yummy brunch. Great food and service. Be sure to make a reservation.
Food was superb, but was surprised at the crowd and noise level. Would pick a weeknight to go back.
It was my first time here and I loved it!!! The ambiance was very relaxed and welcoming. The food was awesome! Chef Ruiz definitely knows his way around the kitchen! I’m definitely coming back the next time I’m in town!
It was awesome waiter was perfect and the music was great!
our waiter was fabulous! it was hot there....food wonderful
Bar and beverages were on-point. One of our group had the Love to Love You cocktail which was very refreshing and fresh (is this redundant?). Our party of 4 shared several small plates all of which were delicious. We had the brussel sprouts (great taste, although the amount was skimpy considering to be shared.). Chicken skewers and pork belly empanadas. Delicious and plenty to share of those. The coleslaw that was with the chicken skewers was AMAZING.
For entrees, the four of us all ordered the Cast Iron Steak. We hadn't planned to order the same thing. Two of our group ordered the steaks to be prepared "medium", I ordered my steak "medium plus" and the fourth person ordered their's "medium well plus." Whe steaks were flavorful and very tender, however, we were disappointed in how the steaks were cooked, at $34 each. The two medium steaks were medium rare. My medium plus order was actually medium rare, and the medium well plus was medium-medium rare. As the steaks come sliced on the plates, this seems like the chef could see they were not correct before sending them to us. Being cut for serving, it limited ability to send back steaks for proper cooking. I switched my medium rare delivered steak with my husbands that seemed less medium rare than mine (he ordered his medium). Our server saw me do this and acknowledged that my steak "was thicker and the cook had a hard time knowing if it was done enough." He did not offer to correct it and we didn't ask. The server was very nice, it wasn't his fault. The person who ordered the medium well plus & I (medium plus) ate around the cooked edges, and avoided the medium rare portions and took the majority home so we can properly cook as left over at our respective homes. (Kudos for our airfryer). Also the lights in the restaurant blinked frequently - weird and disconcerting. No explanation provided. maybe we were the only 4 who noticed it?
Great food and cocktails and loved the live music!!
The brunch was not as good as dinner but the overall experience was not bad. I will be returning for dinner.
We ate here for brunch. Food was great. Service was great. $3 mimosas were the best!
Great food and atmosphere!
Husband ordered the duck dish, which was good, but, sides were not.
Overall, not so good
Food isn’t worth the price
We very much enjoyed our early dinner and will go back.
The Rockford is a low-key neighborhood restaurant with truly delicious food! It's an inauspicious entry with a staircase directly off of the street, but the service, food, and cocktails far exceeded our expectations.
Everything was perfectly cooked (crispiest, most delicious shrimp ever) and the combination of spices and seasonings in every dish were difficult to identify, but were amazing, in a perfectly coordinated, and restrained "I'm not screaming for your attention" kind of way. Even the coleslaw served with the Mesquite Chicken skewers tasted just a bit different and better than any I've ever had. (Whose ever heard of memorable coleslaw?!)
So, although you may not go out of your way for coleslaw, you should definitely go out of your way to book a reservation at The Rockford immediately!
The AC didn’t work the best so it was a little stuffy but the food was great
Really enjoyed being at the Rockford. The atmosphere was cool, there was live music, and the food was SOOO good!
Creative menu, excellent service, and relaxed atmosphere.
This is our second time coming to Rockford! It is a cute quaint spot with great food!
Fabulous, creative cocktails and well-prepared, beautifully presented food. Fresh flavor combinations. The noise level can be a little high at times when the restaurant is full for having a conversation with your tablemates but the ambiance is pleasant overall.
Loved the mushrooms in rice dish, but my companions' meals were good but not excellent. The sauce on the steak dish was a bit over the top, and the duck wasn't as flavorful as hoped. The mushroom/rice had a paella-like crust that was wonderful and very tasty. Service was excellent.
The food is more upscale than it used to be and was very good. The setting is nice (except for the bar downstairs that had some music pumping with some aggressive bass).
My favorite spot in Raleigh! Unique plates with amazing taste
The Chef is amazing and the ambience perfect for a fun date night.
The food and atmosphere was great, I had the lamb chops and my wife had the burger. The food was good but not prepared the way we were used to. Both meals were a little on the spicy side, while I enjoyed mine my wife didn't so much.
We brunched and food was amazingly good. We enjoyed our date but the place is a bit loud.
We had the brussel sprouts to start, probably the best Brussels I’ve had at a restaurant - but FYI these def on the spicy side which wasn’t noted on the menu. I love spicy, but for those that don’t, the Brussels may not be your thing if you don’t like heat. For dinner, I had the pork chop which was AMAZING. Highly recommend the bread pudding as well!
