The Rockefeller Room at The Williamsburg Inn
Great place. Ambience was terrific, food was great, service was fantastic. But... it is a bit on the expensive side.
I wanted to have a special celebration for my grandmother and was not disappointed.
A truly wonderful dining experience. If you enjoy fine dining (in both food and service) this is a restaurant not to be missed! Absolutely a five star experience!
Celebrating our anniversary, the entire evening was wonderful.
A perfect venue for fine dining. The elegance of the Inn and graceful service of the staff made for a most pleasant evening. The menu offered a number of appealing choices, and we were very pleased with our selections. We enjoyed the subtle twists on the classic dishes.
Excellent Anniversary Dinner!!!
They treat everyone like royalty! Amazing service! Amazing food! Perfectly paced, perfectly cooked, perfect proportions. Gracious Southern hospitality, these servers are magnificently trained. Very special place. Cant recommend it highly enough, true treat.
High end, excellent service. Food was delicious and plentiful. I had the pork with peanut sauce. My husband had the bone in filet.
Very artful menu incorporating both the geography and the historic time period. Dishes were brilliantly executed; Room was beautiful and Service, impeccable. A true fine dining experience but without the “stuffiness”.
I had the crab cake with cucumber remoulade as a starter and the crab cake was fantastic, lots of fresh Chesapeake crab meat. For the Main, I had the Lamb Chops which were huge and cooked to perfection. Finished with the Rockefeller Trio of Pecan, Bread Pudding and Cardamom Cheese Cake.
A very enjoyable meal! Our waiter Derek I believe was extremely gracious who only added to our experience.
Dining room lighting was too dark for mid evening.
Room dominated by windows showing parking lot and front entrance.
Chicken rubbery and over salted.
None of food was warm.
Only positive was our server.
Everything from the food, service, ambiance was five stars! Waiter, Derrick was knowledable about everything we ordered. Have already recommended this fine restaurant to friends.
Fabulous and friendly. Delicious and elegant.
Fine Dining at its finest
The food was definitely good, not excellent. The ambiance and wait staff was excellent. This is a "dining experience". Expect to be there at least 2 hours. The hotel and dining room are truly 5-star beautiful. This restaurant is for a special night out.
Bday great food serious
This is a wonderful restaurant. Our server Mary was great.
My wife’s 60th Birthday!
All of our expectations were exceeded by the Rockefeller Room. It’s becoming more and more difficult to find a venue where attention to detail, food quality and service are top notch but the RR did it.
Visiting from out of town and made reservations ahead of time and this restaurant did not disappoint! Service was exceptional and the food was delicious! Such nice atmosphere!
Great food, ambience and service! Robert and David took excellent care of us.
We went for our 25th wedding Anniversary, and throughly enjoyed, our dining experience. Service was excellent. We loved the low light and the fact you didnt have to,listen to everyone's conversation, the tables where spaced apart just enough. The oysters we ordered where a little on the sweet side, minor, the taste and presentation of food was also excellent. The chef prepared a special treat for us for our 25th wedding anniversary, that was special.
We would absolutely return there.
Outstanding hardly describes our Anniversary Dinner at the Rockefeller Room. Outstanding meal. Outstanding service. Warm and friendly environment.
My bride had salmon. I had the NY Strip. Salads and appetizer were excellent. Mary was simply the best —- We would go back in a heartbeat. Lovely, lovely place to stay and eat.
By all means, request David as your waiter - he was great!
Disappointing evening for anniversary . Our server much more interested in other patrons . We ordered dessert and the restaurant also sent out a dessert with happy anniversary written on plate . You would think the server would know this is customary and just bring the dessert out . I had the halibut , appropriately done for me but too salty . My husband had filet which was nothing special . I guess my expectations were too high with this restaurant being in a 5 star hotel .
We were guests at the hotel. Upon reading reviews we decided on dinner at the Hotel’s restaurant. It lived up to our expectations in almost every way. The food was quite good. The service, however, was not quite up to the standards of a great restaurant. It was too informal. We ordered the wine pairings with our tasting menu. The sommelier came by to introduce the first couple of wines. The others were just poured by staff with no introduction. This restaurant comes close but misses the mark of fine dining. We will give it another chance. The promise is there. We hope training and attention to detail will get them there.
Love the atmosphere at the Williamsburg Inn. Food is always great and service is just right. Thanks for a great night!
Fantastic experience. Everything was just right and we had a special evening.
This place is amazing! And an incredible value. Although it's not cheap, I felt like the service we received was way above what I expect for a restaurant at this price point. Definitely an upscale setting, so dress accordingly.
Our server, Jane, made the evening perfect for us, she was relaxed but professional and attentive, and had a good sense of humor.
A beautiful room, a wonderful meal and a overall great experience. One of the few restaurants where you’re treated like royalty. I would highly recommend this special place to anyone who desires perfection!
We had a wonderful meal with excellent service and food quality. We enjoyed it so much we are going back tonight during this same stay at the Williamsburg Inn. The appetizers - oysters with champagne sabayon, crabcakes with english cucumber remoulade we delicious. The filets both bone in and regular were very tender, well seasoned and prepared perfectly!
My wife and I are on our yearly anniversary vacation. Today we celebrated 15 yrs of marriage. We chose the Williamsburg Inn’s Rockefeller Room. We knew it would be nice. The place was very impressive. We were cheerfully greeted by the staff. The service was excellent with what I thought was very appropriate attention. The food was delicious and the timing was impeccable. We had a great time and the Rockefeller Room will always be a choice for dinning when we’re in town.
Wonderful food, excellent wine, and beautiful setting.
Rockefeller Room provided a wonderful and memorable Birthday Dinner. We will definitely make this a favorite recommendation!!!
In 46+ years of staying and dining at The Williamsburg Inn this visit was no exception, it was excellent.
Incredible dining experience. Chef combines various ingrediencies that you would never think to use together. I will be stopping by again next time I am in the area.
Venue was beautiful- food was delicious- service was wonderful and constant. wonderful place
Wonderful meal in a beautifully renovated setting. This was a birthday dinner that was an elegant experience. Charles was attentive and gave nice menu suggestions. The meal itself was beautifully presented and the flavors were perfectly blended. The meats cooked just right. Love the desert sampler, a perfect way to end a heavenly meal. I enjoyed everything immensely and will be back. Thank you Williamsburg Inn for making #5? more ‘tolerable’.
Excellence in all respects. Just what you would expect from the Williamsburg Inn. Not stuffy but elegant
This was our first dining experience at The Rockefeller Room, and it was truly an exceptional one! The service was impeccable. The food was perfection. The waiter was genteel, knowledgeable, personable and appropriately witty. The ambiance was graceful, richly elegant, and very romantic. Flatware and glassware were all spotless. Everything about this restaurant was the best there is and definitely a rare jewel that tops the crown of the Inn itself. The chef at the Williamsburg Inn is exceptional. The staff and service ethic at The Inn is the best of the best.
