The Rockefeller Room at The Williamsburg Inn
Venue was beautiful- food was delicious- service was wonderful and constant. wonderful place
Wonderful meal in a beautifully renovated setting. This was a birthday dinner that was an elegant experience. Charles was attentive and gave nice menu suggestions. The meal itself was beautifully presented and the flavors were perfectly blended. The meats cooked just right. Love the desert sampler, a perfect way to end a heavenly meal. I enjoyed everything immensely and will be back. Thank you Williamsburg Inn for making #5? more ‘tolerable’.
Excellence in all respects. Just what you would expect from the Williamsburg Inn. Not stuffy but elegant
This was our first dining experience at The Rockefeller Room, and it was truly an exceptional one! The service was impeccable. The food was perfection. The waiter was genteel, knowledgeable, personable and appropriately witty. The ambiance was graceful, richly elegant, and very romantic. Flatware and glassware were all spotless. Everything about this restaurant was the best there is and definitely a rare jewel that tops the crown of the Inn itself. The chef at the Williamsburg Inn is exceptional. The staff and service ethic at The Inn is the best of the best.
My wife and I came here for our 10th anniversary and it was perfect. The ambiance was elegant, quiet and romantic. Much to our pleasure, we were seated in a cozy corner sofa seat. Our waiter, Charles, was engaging with just the right amount of attention and he made the evening a delight. Our food was outstanding (especially the Crab Cake appetizer and half chicken main entree). And the dessert sampler tray was a perfect solution to not being able to choose which of the tasty desserts to choose. We highly recommend this for anyone looking to celebrate a special night in a place of elegance with the ability to hear one another speak.
Food was delicious from start to the end!
Charles is an excellent waiter. The ambiance of the Rockefeller Room is very apprpriate for the Williamsburg Inn. Please consider re-opening the Regency Room on a regular basis.
My daughter and I dined at the Rockefeller Room when I visited her at college. It was truly a special evening. From the valet parking to dessert, the service was impeccable! We arrived early for our reservation and had a drink at the bar, which was delightful. Dinner was superb (try the oysters!), and David, our water was attentive and had great recommendations. The scallops were delicious, as was the filet. Great wine and the best cheesecake I have had in a long time (light, smooth, and tasty). The decor was very elegant and comfortable. Perfect mother-daughter night!
Excellent food and service. A bit noisy due to a wedding party in the same room, but this is likely unusual. Overall excellent.
I booked a reservation at this restaurant based on recommendations from a number of colleagues. I was told it would be a nice, quiet restaurant for a romantic dinner with my wife. The food was good and the service was excellent; however, the atmosphere ruined the entire experience. A wedding party of about 12-15 people was seated at a large table directly across from us. They were very loud (as one would expect) and boisterous, to the point that my wife and I could not even carry on a meaningful conversation. In fact, we rushed through dinner so that we could get move on from the restaurant to a place we were could actually talk and hear one another. That was very disappointing to me.
Exceptional food and service in an outstanding environment.
An out of the park experience at CW's Rockefeller Room. Our 30th wedding anniversary. We dined in the Regency Room 30 years ago. The service was perfect. The food was wonderful, very modern takes on standards. The room was very nice but it was little occupied, like 5 parties on a Monday. It was probably the most expensive meal we've ever had but the night was completely worth it.
The restaurant was one of the top best I’ve been to. Live music, decoration, food and its presentation were amazing! We will definitely come back!
It was an all around delightful and delicious experience. We will certainly go back on our next trip to Williamsburg.
Excellent wait staff
The staff was wonderful, but a little slow to perform common practices. For example, they were slow to take our order, maintain our glasses with wine and remove the used dishes and cutlery. The staff was lovely when available. They also made recommendations for the wine and food that were very complimentary. I will most definitely return; I probably just need to remember to slow down and enjoy the experience and conversation next time.
Excellent service! Charles & all staff were outstanding! Top quality! Food was superb!
Fabulous fresh food selections prepared perfectly. Wonderful fine dining!
Took my wife and family for my wife's birthday. Food was incredible. Charles was a fantastic server and so pleasant to converse with him. Very well decorated with lots of food options. Recommend for any occasion and very tough to beat for special occasions.
Fantastic service. Food was good not great, and didn’t really merit the high prices.
We have stayed at the Williamsburg Inn numerous times and were devotees of the Regency Dining Room. I wasn’t certain how I would feel about this new dining experience at the Inn. But, The Rockefeller Room and Goodwin Room lived up to our expectations for fine dining at the Inn: white tablecloths, delicious food and wine choices, attentive service, and an ambience that is conducive to conversation. Having read previous reviewers’ remarks regarding business casual and casual attire, I was concerned. But, the evening we met friends there for dinner, we saw men in sport jackets or sweaters and slacks and women in dresses, skirts or slacks with jackets and sweaters. We had Bibb lettuce and citrus salads to start, salmon and rockfish entrees, and panda cotta for dessert. A wonderful dining experience in Williamsburg.
The Rockefeller Room is 5 Stars from excellent guest service, elegant decor to absolutely amazing food. The presentation of the dishes were lovely but the taste was beyond expectation. I had the lamb, my friends had the rock fish and the filet. I tasted all three and all were excellent. We then shared the sample dessert, of which I could not pick a favorite, as they were all delicious!
We had an amazing dinner. Food was perfectly prepared and the service was incredible. Everyone was very accommodating. It was fabulous!
Wonderful food experience. Our server was not as good as we have had in the past. Seemed more interested in chatting with people he knew. Service was slow and did not clean up the table of crumbs. He really did not measure up to the service we experienced in the past from Cecil, Treyvon and others.
The decor is outstanding, gives one a very elegant appearance. The service is impeccable, best in Virginia ( always a Homestead, Hot Springs fan).
The food selection is excellent and taste is as absolutely delicious.
A wonderful place for special occasions.
For our 50th anniversary dinner we chose the Rockefeller Room for it's quiet, refined, and romantic ambiance; excellent food; and superior service. We were not disappointed. Our waiter was excellent - never intrusive but always available. The food was delicious. We particularly liked the comfortable couch for our seating at the large round table with very attractive decorations and lighting.
If we had to find fault, the cocktails (manhattan and whiskey sour) were a bit weak and the hostess seemed strangely confused. Nevertheless, it was an outstanding meal, perfect for this important occasion. Our complimentary desert plate (with two chocolates) was personalized for us. The desert sampler with all five of the delicious deserts and the excellent coffee was great. Our two and a half hour dinner (we made it last as long as possible) was a delight; we felt like we were dating again.
The individual interest of our needs by the staff went beyond what anyone would expect
The setting and service were outstanding. The soup, salads and bread were excellent, but the entrees were disappointing.
Service was first class. The staff was the best, our server Jane was phenomenal. The drinks were excellent and the food was outstanding. I would strongly recommend a visit to the Rockefeller Room while in Williamsburg.
Food was very good and came to the table hot. Service was excellent. The Wine Steward and our server were attentive and helpful. We were however, VERY disappointed we could not make reservations for dinner in the Regency Room. It is always where we have had supper during the holidays in the past. Being stuck in the Rockefeller Room was a total let down. It has always been nice to dress for the Regency Room and people were dressed in jeans and tee shirts around us. Total letdown on the experience we were expecting.
An elegant meal in an elegant setting. Service and cuisine were excellent. Kudos to Sommelier Richard Gerardo and our superb server, Cecil.
Incredible atmosphere and food!
Solid service and a VIP experience. Felt a little pricey for kids menu and appetizers, so be prepared for 5 Star prices along with 5 Star service.
Superlative in all respects. Derek our waiter was quite relaxed but totally on top of his game. The food was memorable and out of the ordinary. Pricey but all that we hoped for!
A wonderful venue for a special occasion. Food, service and ambiance very good and festive.
The food is superb and the wine list has choices for whatever you desire including reasonable prices. The service is beyond compare! After our first visit, this will become an annual holiday tradition.
The Rockefeller Room is THE best dining in Williamsburg bar none. The ambience and food are exceptional, but what makes it truly a special dining experience is the service. We save dining at the Inn for very special occasions for this very reason.
A very elegant beautiful room. This was our second visit. Nd the food preparation wasn’t as careful as the first time. My bone-in filet was overdone but still good. We will be back in hopes that the third visit will be as great as the first.
We love the Rockefeller Room! The chef’s surprises are always fun touch!
The service and ambience were fabulous. Our server, Mary was gracious, warm and professional. She went above what was necessary, bringing us a lovely plate inscribed with chocolate for our anniversary.
My meal was a pasta (Cavilinni ?) which was unfortunately, over salted. My husband had pork, which he felt was average.
The service and ambience made up for the rather disappointing food and we will remember the night fondly due to the beautiful room, comfortable seating with ample room between tables and especially, our wonderful server.
