The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Wylie
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.
Service was great at recommending items and timing on food delivery was excellent.
Good food with fresh ingredients. The menu was very diverse and offered many options. The value was good.
Waiters are always excellent. Good good. We had a party of 7, 5 of whom had never been. They loved it all!
This was our first visit to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza. We are a family of 6. Every single one of us really enjoyed this restaurant! The food was very good, love the Rock memorabilia on the walls and ceilings, and our server was fantastic!
Will definitely be back soon!
My group of 8 had reservations at 5:30 Sat. Everything was ready and set up on time; greeting was very warm. Our waiter was really, really good and attentive. We had several different menu options and we all enjoyed our food. Thank you!
It was noisy but we didn't mind that at all...it was Friday night. Our server didn't ask if we wanted refills on our drink, took forever to come back and check on things and deliver our drinks and did not clear any of our dishes unless we asked, …..multiple times.
This used to be a great place to eat with lots of energy, good food, and fantastic service. Now, there is only mediocre food, no energy, and terrible service. Sad to see such a great place fall.
My ribs were fatty and not cooked enough. Wife had to send her chicken sandwich back because it was under cooked and rubbery. Pizza was Ok. Drinks were good and service great.
The food used to be average and now it is really good. I’m glad we gave it another chance.
They unfortunately got my pizza very wrong, so they made me a new one that was right to take home. Should have likely given a discount.
The food was excellent, our waitress was superb and the atmosphere friendly! Will definitely go back!
This visit was so much better than when they first opened. Food was tasty although french fries were luke warm, queso was runny. Drinks were pretty. It’s a shame they don’t have happy hour!
Great service and food. There are a great variety of pizzas. Most likely something for everyone. It was kinda loud with all the other people that were there, but the was the only drawback.
I hate to write something bad about the food, but we had several items off the menu and it was not good. It was as if a child who didn’t know flavors was working! The queso dip, the Evil Pizza, the bruschetta was awful! Just awful! The meaty pizza could actually be devoured, but it lacked any spice at all. Maybe they market to kids without a pallet? If you’re an adult looking for a great pizza pass this place by.
Service after the 20 minutes we sat without it, was off the charts excellent!
Unfortunately, the hostess staff did not honor the open table reservation. They told us it would be a 30 minute wait when we arrive even a bit early for our table. A family came in right after us with an open table reservation & were told the same thing. After 30 minutes we noticed people walking up to empty tables in the bar and sitting down. We were told we could not take a table in the bar. We had not been altered on our cell that our table was ready. When we went back to the hostess stand they didn't acknowledge that they had our name down for a table. We were given one of the empty tables in the bar.
The bar & wait staff were very efficient and friendly which helped but the food was average. We won't be going back.
The table was not ready and then they gave away our table to someone else.
The waiter was young and inexperienced
I took my husband to the Rock for our 25th wedding anniversary because we had never been before. We both liked the food and were amused by the names on the menu. :) We loved the atmosphere and live music. I will defiantly plan to go back, but since I am "an oldie but a goodie", I will plan to go on Tuesday nights to hear the live music and avoid the weekends. We both had a great time. Thank you for making our Silver Anniversary so memorable.
Yummy pizza. The best crust I’ve had on a pizza in a long time. We highly recommend this place.
The food was average but the service I had was great! 5 stars for service!!
Awesome server, a little problem with drinks but was told bartender was new so not a problem everything else made up for it!
The food took longer than usual but overall it was great. We come often and will be back soon.
The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen has the potential to be a great place, but seriously lacks on customer service, which stems from poor management.
Pizzas are always good
Had the Cajun pasta and was very flavorful
Just went for lunch. If you want pizza in Wylie it's pretty good.
We went here to celebrate an early Mother's Day and it was a fantastic choice! Food was wonderful and different. Atmosphere was creative and calm. The server was very polite and efficient. The drink menu has very unique and tasty options. The music was wonderful to. Great place for an adult night out but also perfectly appropriate to bring my young children. We will definitely be returning!
I order a pepperoni pizza and it sure wasn't worth the price at $16. Dominoes would of been better. Peppercorn salad was good. Their were stingy with the chicken though. Service was good, maybe because it was slow. I will never go again!
Mojito was great. BBQ salad was ok. Hamburger was good. Told them on reservation it was our anniversary but they seated us two booths from the front door therefor the ambience or romantic side was not there. It was our first time to visit the restaurant so being sat by the front door I did not get to see The entire restaurant nor did I know there was a bar and outside patio seating outside until we drove around the building as we were leaving. Never visiting this restaurant before I would not have picked it for a special occasion but I'm sure it's fine for casual dining. They tended to inquire on our needs a bit too often, but I guess that's better than not enough.
Made reservations for 8 for 7:30 for a birthday. Arrived and told the hostess our reservation info. She rudely responds that all tables are full. We will have to wait, no apologies or steps to remedy the situation. Thus, the reason I made a reservation knowing Friday night at 7:30 would be busy. She was not cordial and full of excuses- not customer service orientes. Mgr. Immediately steps in hearing the convo as he's passing. He was very apologetic and worked to resolve the issue promptly.
Went to this restaurant for my daughters birthday, seated right away, greeted by the waiter in 10min, another 10min for drinks to arrive, 30min for the appetizers followed immediately by the food and dropped the check at the same time. Will never go again.
It was our first time there and we lived it. It will be back again.
I've always had a great time here. Whether it's with friends or family for lunch or dinner. People are great and food is delicious and atmosphere is fun. Plus my 4 yr olds love the pizza dough to play with.
Best pizza around. Lots of variety. Nice atmosphere with unique décor. Very good service.
Another delicious dinner and we really enjoyed the patio seating this time around. Consistently good food. Friendly service.
The food was good service was great it was a great first impression next time i would like to try the pizza as it looks delicious . from the onbeonce i would say the pizza must be the main menu
If you are ordering a burger and like your burger cooked a certain way (rare, medium rare or medium ) you must tell your waitress/waiter, our waiter did not ask.
Our last visit this past Sunday was met with incredibly slow service and bad food. There were six of us and we went late in the afternoon at a time the restaurant was slow. Our orders were simple: wings, nachos, and a couple burgers. Still, it took forever for them to come out. When they finally did, two of the three wings orders were wrong, and one of them ended up on the floor when the tray tipped over. It took almost 20 minutes to get the new orders of chicken wings. Even if it had been busy, the kitchen should not have been that slow. Then there was my "special" nacho order... I asked for no olives, no cilantro (allergy), and no queso (the liquid kind; it also comes w/jack and cheddar). This seemed to confused the kitchen. I received a gargantuan pile of chips sparsely sprinkled with lukewarm shredded cheese that was partially melted, about 10 black beans, and a tiny amount of pico, and no onions. When I pointed all of this out to the waiter, he offered to have them redo the nachos, but I just asked they warm it up and add more beans and cheese, because of time and the fact I hate wasting food. It returned fairly shortly and was better, but I make far better nachos at home. I only ordered nachos, because I like so few of their items and figured they couldn't mess that up. I was wrong. Needless to say, this last experience - combined with a couple other not-so-great meals there - left a bad taste in our mouths and it may be a while, if ever, before we go back.
Good food. Good service. The music was overly loud though. Overall good.
Our waiter was awesome! He was friendly, fast and came back to the table many times to check on us.
Our service was terrible. It would keep me from going back.
