The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Tacoma
One of my top 5 worst restaurant experiences ever. Waited over an hour for chicken strips and onion rings. 2 items you can drop in a deep fryer for a few minutes. Waitress should NEVER lie to customers and say their food will be out shortly. Half hour later tell you they are putting them in now. What a joke. Never going back. Because it took so long we had to cancel our salads and waitress said “oh, and I took your salads off your tab” REALLY. That’s nice since we never got them!
We have enjoyed dining hear for many years and almost always order the Founders Pie along with other items. It tasted different this time....something was missing~it wasn't as tasty. It seemed that, perhaps, there used to be some seasoning on it that wasn't there or....something. I hope if it was changed they change it back
The food is good but seriously expensive. $100 for pizza and apps for 3 people.
We had a terrible experience. There were plenty of open tables available when we showed up for our reservation and we were moved into a side room that felt like a dungeon. It took a long time for us to be helped in our side room corner. Our server was obviously new which is not a problem, but we were given extremely dirty wine glasses and then the bill was incorrect. When we tried to correct the bill, our server disappeared for 10 minutes and then came back with a zero charge. When we tried to clarify she took it back for another 15 minutes before we got up to go find her and finish paying. We then had to talk to three people and they finally got it right after 30 minutes of trying to pay. At that point they should’ve just comped the burger that was wrong on the bill for so long. They were not apologetic or friendly and we will never be back. Very poor service.
What you would expect at The Rock. Great service and consistency.
Took 40 minutes to get our food ordered from the time we were seated. Our area in back only had 3 tables.
GOOD pizza crust at a reasonable price. We enjoyed our bucket drink. I challenged the wife to another bucket (Vodka) and was denied. Next time.
LOVED our waitress, Nadia. She was super friendly, always checking on us and had a great sense of humor. We celebrated a girls night out as a Bachelorette party for me.
Pizza was not that good. A $7 Pizza Studio pizza is better. If you want good fired pizza go to Farelli's. The place was so loud I couldn't enjoy time with my family.
Great time, great food and drink. Met friends in Tacoma for a concert and it was the perfect place. Went back after the show to grab another drink and a bite.
90 minute parking was an issue. Food was great. Service was wonderful. Music was so loud we had to yell at each other to have a regular conversation.
I have been to the Rock a few times, but this was by far the worst experience I have ever had. Things started alright, but went down hill fast. We ordered drinks, when they were brought out, we asked for some menu's. Appetizer order goes well, we ask for some silverware. Appetizers come out, we ask for some napkins and for silverware again, and order dinner. We wait......we then just use our hands to eat. I went in some side room and grabbed myself and table a stack of paper napkins. Our food comes out, still no silverware, we ask yet again.......my mom is now eating her salad with her hands......it was a beautiful salad. The food was OK, but the service was awful.
Excellent customer service we had 16 people that including three toddlers Ages 2 and under the waiter was kind and patient it was a family outing we appreciate your excellent customer service thank you very much we will be back not all 16 lol my husband and I soon it's great to know there's a place that you can take your kids and their spouses and grandkids and enjoy yourself
Had a great time with family and friends for High School Graduation party. I will definitely do it again.
Great food. Here from out of town looking for something that for adults and kids...perfect
Short-staffed, had reservations, waitress was rude, pizza was good, three hairs in pulled pork sandwich and fries.
I ordered the most basic thing on the menu. A broccoli penne pasta. It was the worst thing I have ever tasted! I could have stayed home and made something better for free. My waiter never asked me how everything was and seemed very stand off ish.
It was great! Second time being there. The food was better before but I still enjoyed myself ! !
Wood fired pizza can't be beat.
My husband and I came in during happy hour on St. Patrick's Day. We arrived around 4:45p.m. and left a little after 6p.m. We ordered appetizers, I had a couple of cocktails, and my husband had a beer. The food was great, the cocktails were really good and creative. My husband also said his beer was good. During the time we were there it was not very busy, but I am sure it gets busier at night. The service was a little bit slow, but it seemed like the bartender was doing several things and taking care of several customers while other employees did not seem very busy or helpful. Also, while the restaurant has a happy hour appetizer menu, there was no indication of what drinks are on sale during happy hour. I got one drink at a discounted price and one drink at the full menu price, so a menu for what drinks are on sale during happy hour would be a nice addition.
Brandon is AWESOME!!!!! We get great service everytime! I now request Brandon to be our server everytime!!!!!!
My family and I love this place. The pizza and beer are good. The service is great, very friendly. I wish they would bring "the blues" back.
The service was extremely slow, and it was not very busy. We waited for approximately 40 minutes to get our food, and the waiter had put the order in incorrectly. Love this restaurant, but won't go to the Tacoma one again.
Great food, casual pizza night with friends. Great dollar value for food.
Consistently good pizza. Kinda slow sometimes but accurate and friendly service.
Normally bad reviews aren't something I'm okay with writing but this time is an exception because I am at awe of how horrible it was! Our server was stressed out or something because he was all over the place and forgot about us quite a few times. We didn't bother complaining to management or anything but we will definitely not be going back. He never took any empty dishes or glasses from our table, he forgot a few people's orders so they were sitting without food while the rest of us had ours, he actually threw one of our friends' ID back at him (obviously not AT him, but instead of handing it back to him he just threw it back onto the table, which isn't a huge deal but that is rude). He never once introduced himself so we have no clue what his name was. Thankfully the person we were celebrating was just happy to be with friends and didn't care that the dining experience sucked. The reviews of the Rock looked really good on yelp but unfortunately that night they left much to be desired.
We had a reservation for 9 people but they apparently gave our table away and tried to seat us in a very crowded area. We ended up eating back in a little cave-like room that was very warm:(. Our waitress was unfriendly and had very little knowledge of the menu. When we asked questions she kept saying , "I don't know." Food was okay.
The food is outstanding and the atmosphere is great, if you like rock n roll.
Great for our group and service was good!
The food was decent (we got two burgers and two pizzas) but it took nearly an hour to get our food. Even letting our server know this didn't get us food on time. Two of our group had to take food to go because we couldn't eat fast enough to make our show.
