The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Puyallup
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.
Wonderful service team and the 9 inch personal pizzas were great.....and filling
Wife ordered a burger with no bun and substituted the fries for a house salad. When food was received, there were fries on her plate along with a bun on her burger. I ordered a pizza and there was little to no toppings.
Celebrated a 21st birthday for our son with family. Great food and very attentive staff and our table was ready before our reservation time.
The hostess sat us a table and told us they had someone coming in at 6:30 for a reservation. Felt rushed .
I’m allergic to wheat so I’m a little bit limited here but... I love the gluten free pizzas here! The crust is delicious and much better than the burnt-to-a-crisp crust that most restaurants serve. The spicy bloody marys are also delicious... a total must have! And I’ve always had amazing service here, there are so many wonderful waitresses!
Our server was amazing. I wish I could have afforded to tip her more. I have always loved the rock and still do however I feel as if the quality of the food is slowly declining.
Three people had salad with Romaine lettuce and the lettuce was turning brown and very limp. The chicken strips were not very crunchy.
Food was amazing but service was very slow.
Waitress should be more alert to request she forgot to put in one of the orders and questioned my husband when he ask her to bring him another drink. He knew it was busy that night and asked for another one when his was half full knowing by the time she returned it would be gone she said why don’t you finish that one first. I had a pretty big party and I tipped he more than graciously. I hope next time will be even better. With the customer service of the waitress or I may not return . I don’t mind spending money on quality
Probably would recommend for drinks only. Service was okay. Food wasn't terrible, but not the best either. Definitely over priced for the quality and quantity.
Service was really good and the quality of their pizzas is awesome.
I don't like when the waiters rush the clients to order, but we had to call them because none of them came to our table. They should come as long as we sit down and ask: are you ready to order?
Besides of that, everything was wonderful!
Good food and service, always consistent.
I love the Puyallup location! I have always been pleased with the service and food. The servers are efffecient and friendly.
We made a reservation online 30 mins before we got there. We got there 10 mins before our reservation time and had to sit for another 25 mins before they finally sat us. The hostess was very rude to us and sat several people before she sat us even though we had a reservation and they other couples didn't. We were sat in a very loud area and the waitress took forever to bring us our stuff. She got multiple things we ordered wrong as well. It was a trainwreck and we almost walked out multiple times. For service like that and being extremely over priced, we wont ge going back.
We love their pizza here and the staff is always kind and the service is quick.
Really good pizza but a little pricey.
If there were a higher review for service, I would give it. We had EXCELLENT service from the time I called in our order for a party of 10. I cannot say enough good things about our experience at the Rock.
Great time and food
So many restaurants do not accept reservations anymore. When we get our family together we have 8 people including two youn children. It sucks when you have to entertain and keep two youn children happy while waiting for a table. Props to the rock for accepting reservations.
We love The Rock. Other than the original downtown Tacoma location, So Hill Puyallup is the best. We’ll be back!!
We had had a large group and the waitstaff was very friendly and attentive. The food was good and it all arrived about the same time. I would go back.
our server was able to handle our table's constant dad jokes with a smile. food was as great as usual.
I like the restaurant but it is very loud. Tje music playing is so loud you feel like you have to shoit to have a conversation. Most people I've been there with have the same opinion. Great food but not a good place if you want to have a conversation.
The food was excellent. Decent chicken wings, great sandwich and plenty of delicious pizzas. The restaurant is okay, bar looked cozier. Service was poor and it wasn't busy in our seating area. Had to ask twice before waitress remembered to bring a water...she never delivered sauce for the wings....And she barely came by for checking drinks. Might have been an off day. This isn't a first with restaurant service there though. Stick to the bar when you can....looks like better service.
It was pleasant
Decent place to eat. The pizza is above average, but not spectacular. Service was okay. This appears to be a "hoppin'" place on a weekend night. Maybe a good date spot, or to hang in the bar and meet people. They have their own craft beer which is good. I'd eat here again.
Homecoming party. Went very well and happy with the service that was provided. Thank you!
We are there for birthday was a great experience don’t think the person markdown we are reservation even though we told her name and reservation it was a great dining night. So got marked as a no-show on OpenTable when we actually were there
Food is good but at times inconsistent. All of our pizzas were overcooked (burnt crust) but flavors were on point. Shattered queso nachos for the win!
Sadly we went to the Rock to celebrate my son's birthday at his favorite pizza buffet only to discover that it no longer exists. The buffet wasn't inexpensive but for a special occasion we loved to go there. We ordered 4 pizzas for 8 ppl, drank water and with a reasonable tip it was nearly 130$. Too rich for our blood. The pizza itself has some good flavor combos. The crust is extra chewy, not a plus for everyone at our table. Overall not worth the price for us.
I made the reservation online knowing how busy they often WERE for the buffet and to let them know a crowd was coming. No need. The place was a ghost town comparatively.
The waitress was great food came out slow and burnt my son wanted to have bday dinner so he could have pb& j pizza for dessert since service was so slow for everything by the time we got to dessert and waited 25 minutes more for his on&just pizza we got to go and got home to have a hair in it
Very disappointing this visit !
This was a great spot for a date night dinner. However the only thing i could be picky about would be how cold i was in the restaurant. I froze the whole time so it was hard to be comfortable.
Mother's Day- good service, good food and nice atmosphere. Clean restrooms as well! Love the decor and theme.
Great place very accommodating along with great staff.
Great food, very profesional and timly service. Plesent surroundings. I would go here again.
We had a group of 12 with 6 of us being aged 6 and under. Our server was awesome and took care of our circus wonderfully. I brought in an ice cream cake for the birthday girl and they brought it out with candles lit at just the perfect time. Overall, it was a great night!
The food was great and the service was outstanding!
Good Breadsticks. Evil Ways was good. Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy was lousy. Pizza is about the crust, sauce and cheese quality. Where was the sauce on Meaty, Beaty, Big and Bouncy?
I felt they were more concerned about atmosphere and pushing drinks than they were about the quality of the pizza.
