The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Mill Creek
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.

When did you drop the Deep dish crust?? We haven't been in a while, obviously, and with were seated very quickly - with a reservation, but it was almost empty. Got menus within 5 minutes from Austin. I asked about the deep dish since I didn't see it on the menu, and he looked at me like I was stoned. OK...then, he NEVER came back! After 20-25 minutes, the manager came over and took our order...then, 35+ minutes later, we got our pizzas!
Terrible service! Then, the pizzas were like cardboard thick! $20+ for a 12" pie for cardboard!! The taste wasn't too bad, but nothing like the reason we went there for - 20 mile drive!! It was our favorite pizza place when we lived in Bothell...never again! If you get Austin, ask for another server! Also, the crust looked like it never touched an oven, let alone a wood fired one! It was blond, and not fully cooked - and I did see them come out of the oven! I would hate to see if they were crowded!!
Bye bye rock...
Long long wait after we ordered, food was great, took over an hour after ordering to get just the salad, restaurant was about 60% full
Our service was awful and the pizza was terrible. It was appalling. We had to get up to get drink refills, the pizza had no cheese on it, we got the manager and she looked at our pizza and said it had cheese but it was just light. There was NO cheese.
First time at this restaurant - food was fantastic. We ordered pizzas and nachos, which seems basic but taste was amazing! Fun atmosphere, people laughing and enjoying time together, which I love in restaurants. Service was a bit slow for our table. I did see all other servers rushing about and attending to their tables very timely, bringing refills, etc - but the experience was different for tables in our area assigned to our server. I will not fault the full service staff at all, and will definitely return, but our server was always standing in the back, tables were groaning about it all around us. Outside of this - it was fantastic.
Visited this place for the first time and it was a great experience. Their beer sampler is a must try. The Greek salad and all meat pasta were awesome. Ordered chicken wings as well - which were ok but I have had better wings. Kids had the kids pepperoni pizza which was also good. Definitely recommend the place, very decent menu and reasonably priced. Ambience is unique as well
Food was good, service was slow
We've come here a couple of times and there is something on the menu for everyone. Kids love the menu and games for them. Also good beer on draft selection and happy hour pricing.
Seated right away however a very long wait for someone to acknowledge us at the table. In fact, the manage asked us if anyone had waited on us yet. After that the beverages arrived in a timely manner.
Salad took awhile to arrive. It had way too much dressing. Way too much. Big clumps of dressing dumped in it. Never seen anything like this.
Menu has changed. Although the pizza we usually ordered was not in there they said they could make it. Pizza dough is different. Not as good as it used to be. Pizza itself not as flavorful. Sort of bland. The crust was hard and a bit chewy and a different consistency than it used to be Ans not as flavorful. Really bummed us out.
It was ok. Moderately priced. Only visit occassionally because not much changes here and the food is just so-so. Every once in a while in the mood for born on the bayou, which is the only reason I go.
We were disappointed by our first trip to the Rock and are not likely to return. We ordered an app and purposely chose not to order an entree as many times the food all shows up together. We waited 45 minutes for nachos with cheese sauce and a kid's burger. We ordered pizzas that came out in a reasonable time but were not that great. Because we waited so long for our food, we ordered an additional beer and this was never brought to us. Its a fairly cool place in terms of the ambiance but the wait staff and kitchen need to step up their game.
We had a great time on Mother’s Day! Good pizza, drinks and service!
Try the cheese bread with brown sugar — it is amazing! We all enjoyed the pizza and ambiance. This is our new favorite pizza place!
I have been to this location on a couple occasions, and i enjoy the food, service and drinks. I had the Spicy Born on the Bayou Pasta. It is a great dish, and i love it. We also have a pizza that was delicious.
I love The Rock, The food is amazing and usually the service is great. BUT this Friday we didn't get any silverware and I ordered meatballs as an appetizer. I had to go find the utensils myself. And we never saw the waitress again till we paid. I would have drank more and ordered more but she was MIA most of the time. NOT a common thing for this location so I was surprised, Still the food is so amazing that I don't really care how bad the service is :)
We waited almost 10 minutes to be even just acknowledged at the host stand. When we sat, we waited another 10 minutes to have a server come over. When she did, we placed an order for two drinks and a water. One drink came wrong and the water never came. When the drink came out re-made the second time, it was still wrong....in a different way this time and I had to ask again for the water. The food came out in a decent time frame, but both the appetizers and the pizzas we ordered came out cold. The server came over maybe once to check on us and when I finally got the water I had asked for in the beginning, it was never refilled. We also watched multiple servers standing around talking to each other and having unprofessional conversations (we could hear them) and even though they saw us sitting at the table, not greeted for such a long time in the beginning, none came to check and see if we needed help or say our server was busy/ would be right with us. Terrible experience for over priced, not that great pizza.
Great food, great service at the bar.
This is always a favorite for us. While our table was not ready at the reserved time, they made it good with a free appetizer. The waitress was busy but attentive and fun. The food, as always, was delicious.
The Rock is the perfect place to come enjoy delicious pizza and drinks with friends!
Sat near kitchen could smell dishwasher
Music was too low one Reason I like this place is the good music
Great food & Service. We ordered All meat pizza & pride & Joy and both very delicious. Had brown sugar bread & was amazing with bottom less drinks. Rachel, our server was fantastic. We definitely will be back!
Food was fabulous & the server took really good care of us
The food was good. Service is poor. Our server didn't check on us.
I liked it a lot. It was convenient for me. I am a gluten free vegetarian... so needless to say it's very difficult for me to find a restaurant that can accommodate that. They do have a gluten free pizza crust option and a huge variety of veggie toppings as well as three different pizza sauces (red, white and pesto). Also a decent variety of salads that can be easily made gluten free and vegetarian. I did not see any vegan options, but for me it's so nice to have a restaurant outside of Seattle that actually offers enough choices that I actually had to read the menu!
Fantastic pizza, generous drinks but the service can be a bit slow at times. In theory defense it was a busy night.
Great time at The Rock! Our family liked to meet here for lunch every couple months. It's our Go To place because there's something on the menu for everyone, there's always a table, it's reasonably priced, and the rock & roll vibe is fun.
This is my favorite pizza restaurant. They have added new food to their menu so they no longer focus only on pizzas. The food was fabulous! The waiter was amazing and the food came out fast.
It would appear that The Rock isn't a fan of reservations made through OpenTable. Even though the restaurant was mostly empty, the host seated us upstairs in the absolute worst table in the restaurant which isn't really visible from the main dining area and then didn't tell the waiter we had been seated. When we finally flagged the waiter down the first thing he did was move us to a different table downstairs without us asking. The next day Open Table notified me that the host marked our reservation as cancelled. This despite me telling the host we had an OpenTable reservation when we arrived.
We always enjoy the pizza and chicken and the food was good.
Had a good experience with a business team celebration.
My family, and friends brought me out to The Rock to celebrate my 30th Birthday. We usually have a GREAT experience. But this was by far the worst experience. We actually all agreed it was the worst experience we've ever had dining out. The service was absolutely horrible! We felt as if we were being pushed out by 9p.m. but it was a Saturday night and we were dinning in the bar.? Our first server said she was being phased so she wanted to collect our checks so she could leave. We felt that was very unprofessional and RUDE! Then our second server never came back after we ordered another drink. Which was only our second round. So I had to go up and ask if we could get our checks. She brought them , and then NEVER came back to grab them. So I had to go back up and get them cashed out, and get the change. I felt like I was doing her job. They knew it was a special occasion, and I felt I was treated horribly.
It was our daughter's 9th birthday, and this is where she wanted to go. Not her grandparents' favorite place, but...hey, you only get one 9th birthday, right? We had a great time! Food was great; service was excellent. Thanks!
Mi (manager?) stopped by our table to chat and was totally awesome to talk with! Food was delicious, as always! Thank you for the great customer service!!
