The Rock Wood Fired Pizza - Kennewick
We opened our doors in 1995 as a gritty, local pizza joint in Tacoma with gourmet pizzas, special microbrews and Rocktails, and a unique atmosphere that quickly gained recognition as a venue for everyone. After 20 years of business, we are proud to have numerous locations throughout Washington, Oregon, Colorado and Texas.
The cuisine was good, but not a restaurant I can recommend.
Server refused to honor their 3-6pm advertized happy hour "special" that reservation was made for. Even after showing her the Open Table reservation details, she insisted the discount for the Classic Rock Appetizer and $2 off 9" pizza is only for their 9-11:45pm "happier hour" and there is apparently no 3-6pm "happy hour", despite what was clearly listed on the reservation. This made for an extremely expensive, full dinner-priced lunch since my wife and I ordered an appetizerand two 9" pizzas with lemonades for our 3pm lunch. The restaurant was completely empty; we were the only diners during our time there, so there was no apparent reason for the server to misunderstand the details of their happy hour.
The decor of this rather new building appears to be designed as a crumbling mineshaft; however the dust and cobwebs that are everywhere, which may be part of the motif, simply make for a filthy place to eat. The bathroom was equally as discusting, with black porcelian fixtures that unsuccessfully try and camouflage the filth. The establishment needs a thorough deep cleaning.
Why except reservations for a party of 2 made a week before date and keep us waiting for 30 minutes when there were plenty of tables open? Then wait 40 minutes for our food after ordering of just pasta and salad? Chicken tastes like day old canned chicken on my salad. Meatball appetizer was delicious. Waitress was nice and brought our drinks when needed. However, I won’t be back.
Fun place, lots of atmosphere, and nice variety of food, burgers, pizza, salad, etc. Way more than a sports bar!
We had a crowd of varied ages and all enjoyed the dinner. Service was outstanding.
Service was slow, disorganized. Not good
THis was our first visit to The Rock Wood Fired Pizza. We found the pizza delicious. We also ordered a pasta -- it was good, but they were a bit too generous with the cream sauce; it was really soupy. The price for the pizza seemed high -- $23 for a 12" pizza. Delicious pizza, but not a good value. (In 2017 we were in Naples Italy and had pizzas at Sorbillo's -- very famous -- their pizzas were €3 to €7 (roughly $4 to $8) and they were significantly larger!)
We had a reservation in place. We arrived and they seemed a little confused. We were close by bathrooms and there was a foul smell. Our food took a while to arrive. I think our waitress forgot to put our order in as she came back over and asked who ordered what. All in all, it was late, our food took forever, and the service was slow. I had 2 boys for their birthday dinner, even though I left a note on the reservation, it went unacknowledged. Will think twice about choosing The Rock next time.
Traveling through Kennewick on a Sunday evening, my husband, son and I had dinner at the Rock. It was not busy. Our waiter was accommodating and the service was good. The food was good. And the atmosphere was good. No complaints.

The smell when you walked in the door was bad; the service was bad; the ice tea was bad and therefore I returned it; the salad was bad and the music was loud and bad. We did have a pleasant sort of waiter when he finally got around to waiting on us. We will never stop here again.

We were seated in a crowded room where shrieking toddlers were racing around creating high decibel noise. I blame the parents who seemed to be encouraging the children, but it made conversation virtually impossible.

When I walked in it took a while to be greeted because everyone was standing up from talking to each other instead of assisting customers. When they did ask how they could help me and I told them about my reservation they had first said they didn't have a reservation and then when they actually looked at their reservations they saw it there. The waiter dropped off menus and didn't ask if we wanted anything to drink. He was not attentive and kept ignoring us when we tried to order so finally we flagged him down. My sister got a side salad complete with a dead spider when we mentioned it he took it away and did not offer to comp it or ask her if she would like another one we just had to pay for a salad that she barely touched because of a dead bug. Overall a terrible experience. We will not be going back ever.

This is the problem. I made a reservation and when I arrived she said that the table was ready. All she did was designate a table and push two smaller tables together for our group. There were no utensils or napkins on the table. There was no water on the table. I feel like if the table is ready, it should be ready with at least utensils and napkins. This is the third time I have brought a group to the Rock because I love the pizza and I usually love the Ambiance. But every time the wait staff has been so inexperienced an inattentive that multiple people in my groups have complained. So I can't recommend the restaurant. It is too bad because I think the food is fantastic and I think the Ambiance has so much potential. But I think they need to step up the playlist and play truly classic rock. And I think the wait staff needs to be trained to be attentive and make sure people have water and utensils and plenty of napkins. Also, take people's order in the Timely and check on the table more frequently in case anything else is needed. I would really like to see this restaurant improve it's customer service with their wait staff. I think the food is so good and the Ambiance is great, it is a shame that the only thing really lacking is good service. Especially since it could be so simple. Just make it a restaurant policy to place clean utensils and napkins on all the clean tables so they are already in place.

Our waiter, Eric was the best waiter we have had for any dining experience hands down! He was very attentive, helpful, all mixed with a great sense of humor!

It was my birthday and everyone waited about an hour till we got our food. Then 30 minutes after everyone got their food I got mine when everyone was done eating. So everyone had to wait for birthday boy to finish eating because you guys couldn’t figure it out. So yeah 🖕🏻🖕🏻🖕🏻
Food and drinks are amazing. The service was really good. The price was a bit high but for the quality of food you get I’m not upset even a little. Will definitely return.

Arrived at 5:30 for our reserved time. Not seated til 5:50. Food didn’t come tile 6:50 and we had to basically box it up as we needed to be on the road by 7. They were busy and short staffed. Food was good.

We were there for my mother in law’s 60th Birthday because she really liked the food and drinks here. I made a reservation for a party of 10 @ 5:30pm. When our party arrived, the hostess confused me for a different party and was told by another staff member that I was actually someone else. We immedialy got sat and was greeted by a server who took down our drink orders, then told us she was going to transfer us to another server. A different server came around and took down our drink orders (again). When the drinks came, she stood at one end of the table It seemed like she forgot to give us our food! The manager offered to comp our food and non-alcoholic beverages in return for a second chance. It’s not our first time eating cold pizza, but we were expecting to pay for hot pizzas. If it wasn’t for the manager, we would have all paid for our alcoholic beverages and walked out. The server did not even apologize on her behalf & said she would grab the manager to explain what happened. He didn’t even know what happened & couldn’t explain why our food wasn’t brought out in time. It seemed like a busy day, and everyone was stressed, but that shouldn’t be an excuse for unacceptable customer service.
This was our first time here. Brought he kids after state volleyball in Yakima, the atmosphere was great, loved the rock and roll theme and the overall décor was super fun. They have more than just pizza so anyone can have what they want to satisfy all in a group. Everyone enjoyed the food. The mussels were my favorite.
The food was just pizza--nothing special--but our waitress was amazing! She had an excellent sense of humor, and handled my brother's jokes with ease and good fun! If I ever go back there, I would do it because of our waitress's engaging personality.
Our waitress was an absolute gem and took great care of us! The bartender was very rude when one of his drinks were criticized.
Burgers were good. The wait was a tad long, but not terrible. Wait staff was friendly and prompt. No specials for birthday kid was disappointing.
Our server was terrible, couldn’t count how many were at the table so silverware and waters were off, forgot the chicken for the salad, didn’t bring extra napkins, didn’t clear dishes that were done and took forever when we asked for something. Food was just ok salad was floppy and not crisp and pizza was barely hot when it came out. Probably won’t be back.
We were in town for the Washington State Gymnastics Championships. We were unable to make a big reservation through OpenTable, but the staff at The Rock were amazing in making sure our group sat together. Service was amazing and the food terrific.
I had heard good reviews and bad reviews and was scared to go. When we got there we were greeted and the waitress took our order very quickly. Pizza was good, not soggy at all and it was quick!!

Horrible service, we sat down at 6:30PM. Ordered app drinks and food. Never got our app, food came before drinks. We then had to ask for app to which she responded she forgot along with the drinks. A couple sat down behind us and had gotten their drinks before we did. We didn’t even get water. Terrible service and I will never go back.
We made reservations for a party of 8 and o it had to wait about another 15 minutes for our table. From there, it went downhill. Our server took quite a while to come back around and take our drink orders which we waited about half an hour to receive. Our food orders were taken and that was another 40 minutes. My sandwich came out like warm, and excessively bland. A few others had mild complaints about the food as well. We weren’t impressed. We rarely saw our server. When we wanted to check out, no one could find her, but she simply arrived with our checks. Which was nice because we were trying to leave, but what if we hadn’t been and she just came and gave them to us without asking first. Kind of rude.

We have been to The Rock numerous times in the past and had good experiences. This Saturday was disappointing. I invited a few friends out to celebrate my husband's birthday. Our waitress was inattentive and messed up the order several times. To start with, I ordered an iced tea. My glass was dirty-gross, slimy, white goo on the inside. I asked her for a new glass and she told me all the glasses were like that, and that it was just hard water. I showed her my water glass and other glasses at the table and ran my finger along the inside to demonstrate the difference. It wasn't hard water. It was a dirty glass. During the meal, a friend ordered a pizza off the menu and asked for no onions, but to add sun-dried tomatoes. They left the onions on, and forgot the sun-dried tomatoes. She offered a new pizza and he accepted. The new pizza arrived and was missing other ingredients that should have been there, but still had the onions. I ordered a salad. It never arrived. While everyone was eating, she didn't once come back to ask if we needed anything or check on the table other than to bring the (wrong) replacement pizza. I never got the chance to ask about the salad, and my friend wasn't able to get his second wrong pizza fixed. Additionally, our glasses were never refilled. We left very disappointed.
First time there. We always go out for a back to school dinner for the grand kids. Normaly we go to Red Robin every year but last time we went the SERVICE WAS HORRIBLE! So this year we went to The Rock. I was not impressed whatsoever. Service was kind of sad and it wasn't even busy.
It took over an hour for appetizers that were cold. They were out of three different items we ordered. We ordered a second appetizer that when it came out wasn't what we ordered. Then all our food came out except my daughters grilled cheeses that took an extra 10 minutes.... waitress tried hard but kitchen must've been a mess. Also manager said he'd come to our table and I actually had to walk and find him....
Everything was great except the dessert. We had the hot cookie with ice cream. The cookie was extremely doughy/raw. We were told it's suppose to be like that. I don't think so! Ours was mushy and uncooked. Staff made it right though. I will go back!
Our server was horrible. He couldn't remember our order. Wrong drinks. Things forgotten and even though we were there at our reserved time with our entire group we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. That would not have been so bad if not for the fact that there were empty seats everywhere. The food was excellent and for that reason alone I would recommend with caution.

All though I was disappointed that we still had to wait 20-30 min even with a reservation, the food was great, the atmosphere was awesome, overall a great place. We will defiantly make the 2.5 hr drive to go again!!
